colon bracket Dr. OCD My parents got a new car a few weeks ago and my dad has been very protective of it. He hasn't been letting anyone drive it. Which is understandable because my mom has crashed just about every car we've ever owned. So my parents drive it to our cabin and my dad isn't letting anyone touch the car. While he backing out of a garage he somehow manages to get a branch caught in the back window wiper and snap it off. rolleyes That takes a lot of talent, I'm sure. All of his worrying about other people touching the car and he's the one that breaks it. HA! I'm pretty sure a broken wiper doesen't result in a wrecked car, but he still had it coming I geuss.

Dr. OCD colon bracket Dr. OCD I have been watching Degrassi The New Generation because I heard there was a FtM on it now. I finally got to the two episodes that address him and I honestly almost smashed my laptop multiple times because they were so triggering. I have been through almost everything that he has been through, so it was like I was watching my own life. I think it is very important for people that may have no knowledge of transgender people to see this and to learn. And I am very happy that they were able to capture the life of a FtM so perfectly.Oh dear, I've been watched Degrassi since I was 12 years old. Lately I've been pleasantly surprised with the grace they have handled such serious issues, particularly the episodes with Adam. Yes. They have been able to handle very serious issues with incredible accuracy and they contain some great educational value as well. I am proud of them. I keep wondering if I should watch that show, sounds like they press some real issues and aren't solely for just enjoyment. I geuss it delivers help to the adress gays publicly and press some important issues to our generation, now how do we reach our parents' generation? Let's see if they can work that miracle.

I don't think they are responsible for reaching our parents and guardians. This show is aimed at teens, not adults. I think there are enough organizations trying to help the older generation. I would definitely say that this show tackles some pretty serious issues and is definitely not just a show to watch because you're bored one afternoon. They take 2-4 episodes to strongly address each character in the first season of "The New Generation" and I think it was a wise decision to do so. The writers definitely do their research on the issues that they're presenting as well and I think that makes this show worth watching. I hope the viewers are learning a lot about the issues.
If you do plan on watching it, start with season 10. Any episodes before that will be episodes that contain characters from the last "production" of Degrassi. Season 10 has no left-over characters from the original Degrassi and contains the FtM character that I mentioned above.

I agree, start with season 10. At times the character's issues seem silly and even petty, but that's because of the show's target audience. They have dealt with issues such as abortion, date rape, cutting, break ups, one night stands, bullying, sexting, suicide, STDs, alcohol abuse, asault, drug use, gambling... I could go on all day.
But like Drew said, after season 10 the show has a brand new lineup of characters. Seasons 1-10 are the "original" cast so if you started from season 1 you could spend weeks trying to catch up on everything.

XD i did that last year... watched seasons 1-6 in two months, then got impatient when they stopped showing the originals and skipped to 9. but still, that show is sooo good. it takes a little while at the start for them to not be little kids anymore, but i guess that makes it even more personal when they get older.
