The Supreme Balance - Hachifusa?

The sun rose once again in the lively cities of Washana and Edington. The first of the autumn months; school starts once more for all students of the area. The school bell of the Edington School of Arts tolled seven times as the gates of the school opened to welcome all to the first day of school and the school open house.

As the morning progressed, the school courtyard began to liven with the chatter and movement of the school's many students and faculty. Excited for the first day of school, everyone used their time to prepare for the tasks at hand.

Unbeknown to many of the students and faculty, a powerful force is awakening. A strange force that will change the lives of four men...

The Supreme Balance

[Sentama Lin]

Four students wait in a conference room of Edington School of Arts's Liberal Arts building. All of them are new students; none of them have met before. A relatively short man, about five feet in height, entered the room and greeted these four men with smile and a nod.

"Good morning, students! I am Professor Verdetoile. I will be your advisor and homeroom instructor for your entire educational career here at Edington. I'm sure that you all will enjoy this school's environment and surroundings.

"I'd like to get on to business as soon as possible. But first, I'd like you all to introduce yourselves to me and the other students. After all. We are going to see a lot of each other for the next four years. We might as well start getting to know each other now!"

Chris stands up and looks around the conference room. He says "Hi, I'm Chris Edwin, but you can just call me Chris" and sits back down.

Skiverdra got to his feet, surveying the room intently. "My name is Skiverdra Makoto." he said, "But I prefer to be called Skiverdra." He then sat back down, his eyes remaining alert.  

[Sentama Lin]

"My, I've gotten some really quiet students this year." Professor Verdetoile said with a smile. "You must be all shy. However I already know your names. Isn't there anything else you'd like to share about yourselves?"

At that moment, Jean rose from his chair and faced the rest of the class.

"My name is Jean Purleaufont." He replied in a mild-mannered tone. "Like you all, I'm a freshman here at Edington. My education career here will revolve around the Philosophies, Pedagogy, and Gun training.

"I currently reside in the dormitories here on campus, although I do have family on this island." He chuckled a bit before he began talking again. "I really didn't want to deal with the family.

"I enjoy traversing around the Edington Aquarium and taking naps whenever necessary. I find it mega relaxing and helpful for the mind. It's nice to meet you all!"

Before he sat down, he decided to ask the class. "I realize that this is probably the first time some of you have stepped foot in Edington. I'll be happy to show all of you around after school today, if you all would like!"

Skiverdra stood back up. "I'm hoping to have my education be in Unusual/Unique weapons, Mathematics, and History." he said, "I just arrived here a few days ago. My favorite kind of weapon is the scythe."  

[Confornio]

After sitting still for quite a while, eyes darting from person to person, finally he begins to speak. "I'm Boltlock." His eyes quiver and he slumps down, looking somewhat relieved at the task of talking to humans. His deep aqua hair is somewhat dull in the shadowy light.

Chris looks over at Boltlock, who is still slumped down. It seems like Boltlock is a little shy to be around us, he thought to himself. However, shy people usually feel better once they get used to their surroundings...  

[Sentama Lin]

The bell rings - signaling that homeroom is over. Professor Verdetoile stands up.

"It looks like we're out of time for today. I hope you get to know each other as the day passes by. Have fun in Phy Ed today!" Professor Verdetoile replied.

The four students began to walk toward the gymnasium facilities.

"I hope you're all ready." Jean replied. "It's the first day of Phy Ed and the first day is always tournament day!"  

[Nanospark]

Well then, Chris thought to himself. This could get interesting.
"I see," he says out loud. "Wait...does the instructor provide what we need for the class on the first day?"  

[Tamago Yaki7]

"I hope so." Skiverdra said as he walked to Phy Ed, "I can't wait to show you the combat skill I have."  

[Nanospark]

Chris chuckles. Heh heh heh...he sounds like a show-off to me... he thought to himself.

"Well," Chris said to Skiverdra. "We'll just have to wait and see."
He looks at Boltlock. "You've been awfully quiet. What's on your mind?"  

[Sentama Lin]

"Now, now, everyone," Jean replied with smirk. "You may have skill, but nobody can outmatch my marksmanship. Besides. This school is not a military school - we are not fighters. Just try to have fun! Let's not beat each other up."

Jean, Boltlock, Chris and Skiverdra walked into the gymnasium.  

[Confornio]

Boltlock enters the gymnasium and glances at the corner of the room. On the table was an array of weapons, the likes of which he had never seen. He steps over to the table and studies an object that looked similar to the bows he was accustomed to. Letting out a tiny sigh, he picks it up and surveys it, holding it at arms' length. A quiver also lay on the table near where the bow was taken from.

He straps the quiver onto his back and puts the string on the bow. He pulls back the string, testing its strength. Satisfied, he watches silently as the others gather their weapons.

Skiverdra walked up to the table and picked up a scythe. "Just what I was looking for." he said, "My choice weapon."
