１０ ｙｅａｒｓ ａｇｏ, scientists in Western Europe experimented with a seemingly neutralized strain of Yellow Fever in the hopes of discovering cures for multiple diseases that plagued the world. Ironically, the consequence of their research was the opposite of what they wanted. Several cases of people "turning into zombies" began appearing all over the region and within a year, all of Europe, Asia, and Northern Africa was overrun by this virus.
By the time the Mindus Virus, as it would be called, reached America, scientists working nonstop managed to create a cure for the virus, and before any more damage could be caused to the world, the cure was mass-produced and sent around, and eventually the virus died out and the world was safe once again.
It is now 2025, and the inhabitants of New York City live in a time of peace and prosperity... for now.
