Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that Mecha Santa soon would be there. . .
The Gaians were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Kikis danced in their heads.
With Etch* in his basket, and my Gwee in my lap,
I had just settled my brain for a nice quiet nap.
When out in Towns there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Out side the window there was a great flash,
And the wind tore at my clothes and blew at my sash.
As I walked outside on the newly coded snow
I searched to find the source of the glow.
When, what to my wondering eyes should be seen,
But shiny spaceships, flown by twelve men of green.
The biggest gave a wild turn and a great dip,
And I knew in a moment it was the mother ship!
More rapid than mo-mos her sons they came,
And she caps locked, and shouted and called them by name!
”NOW NARF! NOW, ZOWNED! NOW ZOIT, FLARN AND BLARG!
ON, BOING! ON, ZOOEEP! ON, OMPH, WOING AND GLARG!
TO THE BARTON CLIFFS! TO THE TOP OF THE WALL!
NOW FLY AWAY! FLY AWAY! FLY AWAY ALL!”
So up to the housetops the ships they flew,
With the boots full of probes, and a bunch of cows too.
Some were violent, others were more mild,
And they attacked with glee while the Mothership smiled.
Everywhere there was scanning, Gaia was in a wrangle!
The people were running and forming a triangle!
As I drew in my scarf, and was turning around,
Down from the sky 07 came with a bound.
The ship was majestic as it threw down it’s light,
With amazing speed it flew through the night.
As he zoomed and swooped above houses alike,
I felt my affection for him straight away spike.
His black eyes-how they twinkled as he flew in the sky!
His skin oh-so silky, and his movement so spry!
With smooth round head charmingly large,
I watched him as he jumped down to take charge.
In his wallet he carried a GIB member card,
Using it to cast intrigue with cool regard.
His wit and humour quickly charmed,
While his attention to grammar left me disarmed!
He was skinny and mottled, like those things on my shelf,
And I blushed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A glint of his eye and a turn of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And scanned me and Gaians, then turned with a jerk.
While I sat on the ground he gave me a present,
And giving a nod, left me with memories most pleasant.
He sprang to his ship, took his team to the skies,
And away they all flew like green Dragonflies.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he flew out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"
