After finding out that Rally (of all things), has more users than zOMG!, some of us decided to put together a user-run event to promote Gaia's MMO. We have an amazing community here and want to share it with everyone!

To help spread awareness of the game, zOMG! Awareness HQ is hosting contests and events galore this week - feel free to join in!

- If you wish to participate, you must post an entry form in this thread on either June 6th or 7th. Entries will be closed at midnight June 7 PST. Those who did not post an entry form will not be eligible to win prizes or participate.

Extra Credit 2:What's round, but not always around. Its light sometimes is dark sometimes Everyone wants to walk all over me. What am I? +5 points to solve +25 to find

Extra Credit 3: What stinks while living, but in death, smells good? +2 points to solve +18 to find

Extra Credit 4: This isn't a riddle. Find a bust of a person that looks afraid. They're inside of an object. The person looks almost like an owl at first glance. Barely noticeable. +35 bonus points

Extra Credit 5: Find me a ladder! Not the one in GB either. +35 bonus points.

What is a layer?
The world of this game as we see it is not all there is to it. On zOMG! there exists an unknown number of "layers". Think of layers as sub-dimensions of zOMG! But for easier understanding, think that two layers work as if they were separate game servers.

When you're logging into zOMG!, you're inserting yourself into the world, and must be placed on a layer. Generally speaking, you will be transported to a layer that has less than a certain "population limit", and everyone who also enters the layer before it hits that limit is also added along with you on the selected layer.

If the a layer has enough people to go over the population limit however, they will not be transported to the same layer. They will be transported to an alternate new layer that borns, or they will be sent to an older layer that has lost population, and everyone who enters after them will too.

But this does not mean that they're in a different place. When entering along with a friend, and you two are set apart in terms of layers, you are still in the same position of the map. But, you will not be able to see each other, and the enemies you see in the same map screen will also be different. This will be as if you were playing in different servers. It can be an inconvenience if you wanted to meet and play with your friend.

There are two ways of traversing the gap between layers however. If you have befriended another person, you will notice your mini-map application of the PDA will show your friend's position, represented by a blue dot and a arrow. By focusing on your bond, and clicking the blue dot, you can both cross dimensions and space, and find yourself near your friend.
Also, you do not need to be friends with someone, you can also call them to your layer, but they must agree to be brought to you. If you are the leader or want to create a crew of players, you can invite someone to your crew using a chat command, or in other words, by saying the following:

/invite <username>

There is one rule to this magic command. You must replace the spaces by slashes, or underscores "_" in their name.
This person on the other layer will receive the invitation, and if they accept, they will cross the dimensions and find themselves in your layer. But they will not also travel space, and will find themselves in the same position of the map they were before traveling.

There are few causes I would give so much time and money to, but zOMG! is a very important part of Gaia for me. The quests give you something to work towards, and help you bond with other users in a way that forums never will. What other game here allows you to team up with people? None.

I'm so pleased at the turn out and participation for Awareness Week. Team work and community is essential to zOMG!, and it was so beautifully reflected in this event. I just wanted everyone to know that all of your contests entries were wonderful and I had a blast at all the special events!

I just wanted to thank you guys for holding this. It was very fun. ^^ I, and I'm sure everyone else, appreciates you hard work.

I also want to thank the Devs and everyone that made zOMG! happen, what it is today, and will be in the future. It's a very fun game to play in my spare time.

Petit Marionette

I want to thank the Devs as well - helping host this week has really shown me just how much work coordinating someone on such a large scale is and how challenging it can be to deal with all of the zillions of little problems that come up unexpectedly along the way. You guys manage to accomplish so much week in and week out, and still maintain a sense of humor and good nature along the way, for which I am in awe. Your dedication to the game and willingness to communicate with the community are truly what make zOMG great, and you undoubtedly deserve greater thanks than I can put into words.

I have no idea how you deal with all our whining and complaining, and still manage to produce a wonderful, thoroughly enjoyable game. zOMG! is pretty much the only reason I came back to Gaia after a two-year break. We appreciate all the hard work you've put in this game for us. All the editing, all the coloring, all this and that, I wouldn't be able to imagine the hard work you guys have put it!
Although it lags at times, which is very irritating, it compensates by giving out freebies in the daily chances there! 8D
