I don't mind working hard for things... just look at my avatar when i feel flashy... but it's the time being consumed... sometimes it just feels unnecessary to farm for hours just to try to get one part of a multiple parted item... I just hope they don't make items in the BS that are equivalent to questing for an Angelic Halo off of the BS...

I'm sure they won't make it THAT tedious and hard.

But seriously there will be more involved quests that may involve you going into the deeper bowels of an expansive dungeon but otherwise they would care enough about making it not as much of a generic farm farm farm MMO as to not add a kill unteenthousand creatures.

Though rare drops are a different story, I'd like it if I worked hard killing fluff after fluff to get a rare storm ring (lol I keep using fluffs as an example) and I was one of a few who were patient enough to get it instead of it being kinda common and everyone having it.

To all those who moan at the prospect of farming and grinding, what would be the alternative? Drops of rings and materials being really common so your ultra-powerful Inferno ring is easily obtainable by every nooblet?

You have to take in consideration how exactly making such things that rare could be of benefit. If you were farming all day to increase RR on your ring then you found an ultra rare ring thats current market value is 50k you'd be pretty stoked right? If it was more common it'd be more like 1k and not even worth the time it took to put it on the market.

So dependant on time spent and luck you can end up with a pretty nice ring or material to either sell or use. Otherwise you'd lose interest pretty fast if it was easy to get the best rings right away.

An MMO isn't meant to be able to be beat in a week like other games, it's something that holds strong and creates challenges for months upon years of gameplay even for players who are at the level cap they still can collect better equipment.

that may be a good idea for PVP exclusively though.

A more broadly useable concept would be a ring that casts a silence spell which makes the player or creature unable to cast anything for a certain time.

But really you could get in trouble for discussing something that isnt a part of the main discussion of the thread XD

Well, Gaia might open one shop that lets you do stuff with the rings like if you choose to upgrade them, "polish" them, or even lets you exchange your loots for items(maybe the ninja set in the Info Profile 2.)
