Yeah, the problem is probably more that I can't afford my standards of quality. I'm very picky.

Although, I've been combing through the bribe shops up to 5M and that's all been crap for the most part to me too. I'm honestly astounded at how much gold people are paying for awful art. Is the economy that bad? eek

Just out of curiosity what are your standards?

Hmm, a hard thing to put into words.

I'm not looking for flat out professional, but definitely experienced and legitimately creative. When looking for art of my characters I seek out people who have a firm grasp of anatomy, line, and form. If color is involved, also light and color theory. I want body and pose to feel balanced and natural.

I like artists who can handle heavy variation among features and body types; someone who can handle specific facial structures, eyes, noses, lips, etc. and who never lets themselves portray any kind of feature as though they're using a stamp. I'm not a big fan of generic "anime" simplification nor any kind of extreme exaggeration unless I'm purposefully seeking out something silly - which isn't often. Generally, I want styles that can be considered 'semi-realistic' and detailed.

I want someone who can stick to the little details and catch character. I like genuine creativity and personal flair.

I would like to try sometime when I have more time if that is alright. (I am in the process of packing to move next month). I don't charge anything until after the work is complete so that a fair price can be discussed and agreed upon. I think it might be fun to try and draw for you.
