This is an example of a random thing~!
I write better when I have a clear subject so this won't be the best I can do!

Darting azure eyes that searched a bleak room. A flickering lantern held in his gloved hand, the timid flame threatening to disappear. He turned, back into a corridor flooded in a blackness that almost seemed palpable. The small, warm glow from his lamp was the only light in the abandoned building, yet it seemed to cause great claws of darkness to follow him on the walls, lithe monsters that rose from the sea of shadows to glare at the passing flame. His footsteps echoed, his leather boots tapping against the freezing stone floor that seemed to suck out all the warmth right out of the atmosphere. He could see his own breath, little puffs of air that faded into the void around him. A gust of wind suddenly shoved against his frail body, violently pushing past to knock his lantern to the floor. Darkness. It was all he could see. Plunged into darkness, he never really understood what that meant. Now he did.
