Let's just jump right into it, okay?

I have been writing poetry, short stories, W.I.P. novels, etc
for many many many years, and I would just like something to
do. I cannot promise that my work will be grammatically correct,
but I will proof read it.

Here's the deal breaker,
all of the stuff I have for examples range from morbid to depressing.
Can I write happier pieces? Most definitely, but a lot of what I have to
show you isn't recent.

Common violations to avoid:

Sexually explicit content. Posting, requesting, distributing, or offering sexually explicit material is not permitted anywhere on Gaia. Sexually explicit content includes explicit photographs, text, artwork, video, or cybersex conversations.

Scamming. Taking or attempting to take another member's gold, items or efforts, through false promises, deception, tricks or get-rich-quick schemes is considered scamming and is not tolerated on Gaia.

»xx Elliot claims he's invented a device that reverses the aging process - Mr Edwards chides such childishness, but humours his best student by allowing a demonstration. Incredibly, Mr Edwards finds himself feeling brawnier - the device has returned him to his prime, marveling that Elliot has outdone himself. His zeal is short-lived, though, as Elliot keeps turning the dial, talking the amused students through each adult feature he can rewind - Michael's muscles, his facial hair, even growth spurts - and, as he protests, his voice breaking! The class delight as the teacher is made to look a child, teasing him as he struggles to keep his pants up and grab the device while shrinking into a preschooler. Scooping the boy up, Elliot playfully lectures about the "terrible twos" and concludes by reverting him to infancy, chuckling that it's only temporary.
