What the crap.
Pi Baby!

I have a few ideas milling around for this, one half written.

What kind of vocals are we talking? I've been listening to Eric Whitacre and he's bloody amazing. Are you going for the same ethereal quality? Or are you looking for something more solid? That sort of influences the words, in the same way the words influence the voices. Herum.

Jaco Pastorius and Ani Difranco sound oddly harmonious when played together.

I need to restring my violin. I snapped the D string trying to retune the damn thing. I should have just stuck with the harp.

Anyway, yes, I'm rambling.

OH! is there also the possibility of multiple voices singing different lines?

entry to come soon.

I definitely want at least one of them to sound like that. Ideally, I'll get a balance and variety of stuffs. wink

Of course there is! But you don't necessarily have to throw in a bunch of parentheses to indicate where that might be. xp
Atlas

You have stained my eyelids with the steadily
streaming hope that issues so readily
from your fingertips.
It is a map, charting the whips
and curves, the serpentine dance of our past --
we always took the path
of least resistance.

Your lips drew fine lines, crinkling
the corners of my mouth, and I had no inkling
of the regret that would follow,
but my vision was shadowed
by the deep umber of your voice.
I became a hue of you, your choice
of a tint, a shade, a neutralized dancing

threat, standing with my compass
and my gun. You drew the passes
on my skin, and I followed course,
along the ragged, wanting shores,
followed suit, followed your dashed and dogged lines
like a child, your hand holding mine.
Stretching myself to a distance

that left me thinly placed, a parchment very much
yearning for your cartographers touch.
I bathe in memories that I've folded, creased
to keep the edges straight, though they have ceased
to lead anywhere, the lines faded and smudged. I trace
those pathways with oily fingers, creating a lace
net, studded with jewels of the past tense.

I keep my body, as an atlas, a collection of the maps you inscribed
with breath and fingers and sighs, on my hands, and breasts, and thighs.

Ok, so here's the first bit. I'll have more, once I refine the idea.
The last two lines will most likely be changed. I suck at rhyming, and meter, and all that fun stuff. But. Well. Y'know.
I've got maybe eight good lines so far. It will be helpful to have someone else take a shot at the arrangement domokun

Ah..sketchiness (I have this amazing ability with refrains, and nothing else rofl )

Please go to the next window

Fall and spring, jogging and driving
Stall and cling, nodding and smiling
Her smile bounces up and down
in the crack of a sidewalk
My teeth are picked thin and round
from the booth of a fastfood

Nervous meeting you, so I'll choke it down
Eye-to-eye tongue tray, I'm new to this town
Please go to the next window,
windows won't turn you down.

I'd bare my soul (if I were you) in the corporate logo
free shirt that sticks to you

Our bugs wind up as window glue
to whisper wings with deist-do.
Our bugs wind up their windows too
and whisper things we couldn't do.

We're going 60 in the light,
but it's 40 in the shade.
We're going 40 in the light,
but it's 60 in the shade.

She'll pick and choose
like she's never gonna lose
It's see and through
and she'll never see it through

It's like a styrofoam coffee cup
for the boy that cried lawsuit

Love is run-through

Our bugs wind up as window glue
to whisper wings with deist-do.
Our bugs wind up their windows too
and whisper things we couldn't do.

We're going 60 in the light,
but it's 40 in the shade.
We're going 40 in the light,
but it's 60 in the shade.

But I'll follow through

Your a** is mine and yes, I'd like ketchup with that.
