Who is /your/ writing inspiration?

What inspires my writing is usually a character in a series that is just an absolutely adorable person who never quite seems to get a happy ending. So if I really fall in love with the character then I write a story where they do get their happy ending.

James Herbert. He is the first author that when I read his books, I wanted to write.

I've red a lot of books, but I can't recall some of the writers. I have this pocket book title "The OZ" by R.L. Stine (some sort of a horror story, but not scary at all), "Morgan's Passing" by Anne Tyler, and, of course "Harry Potter" by J.K. Rowling.

I'm not that quite a good reader, but I read only whenever I have a free time to spare.
