Welcome to Gaia. Hope you have fun. As for the inflation, Gaia released a bunch of gold generators I think maybe more than a year ago? Lots of people bought them and got insane amounts of gold to spend. I can't remember for sure. Well, that brought the prices of items way up and the inflation has stuck since.

It seemed bursting with people when I was browsing.

Not necessarily. There are some good people there too. There are people in there who gives off the impression that they think they are better than everyone else. I usually avoid Chatterbox for that reason.
