sᴇᴄᴏɴᴅ ʏᴇᴀʀᴏᴄᴄᴜʟᴛ ʀᴇsᴇᴀʀᴄʜ ᴄʟᴜʙ ᴘʀᴇsɪᴅᴇɴᴛ

Sunlight filled the small bedroom of the second year high school student Takagi Mao. The slender girl was curled up in her futon sleeping soundly, but she was suddenly woken by the voice of her mother shouting from outside her room. Despite wanting nothing more than to continue to sleep, the brunette slowly rose from a laying position to sitting upright while slowly blinking and rubbing her eyes. She yawned and stretched before finally standing, the first step to getting ready for school. The next step was to bathe, so Mao grabbed a couple items she would need and then made her way down the hall to the washroom. Knowing her mother would scold her if she took too long she tried not to start spacing-out. She was successful in this as she quickly washed her body, rinsed, and then dried herself. She exited the washroom in a robe and returned to her bedroom where she would change into her school uniform. This was the last step in getting ready besides putting her books in her bag and eating breakfast.

Mao bid her mother farewell, her father already at work, and then left for school. Living closer to the port than the school she rode her bike back and forth since walking took longer. The breeze felt nice against her skin as she pedaled down the road. She passed other students who were walking once she neared the school, seeing other students ahead of her on their bikes as well. Mao's mind began to wander as she rode, becoming distracted by her surroundings. The brunette was brought back to reality by the sound of a horn honking and a man yelling. Mao blushed and apologized upon realizing she had started to go across a crosswalk at the wrong time, resulting in her almost getting hit by a car without her realizing it. She quickly backed up to the sidewalk and waited to go, still embarrassed by what had happened minutes earlier. By the time she arrived at the school it was no longer on her mind as she put her bike with all the others and entered Akakawa Academy. She put her bag in her locker, grabbing only the books she would need before lunch, and then changed out of her shoes in order to put on her uwabaki. Mao spent the remaining time before class started staring out the window as she had been assigned a seat on the third row next to the windows.

Math was a terrible subject for Mao to have first thing in the morning for she often struggled to stay awake. Science and History were slightly easier to pay attention in, but not much. The slender girl disliked academics and often spent more time daydreaming than listening or taking notes. This irked her teachers when they noticed, but all they could do was get on to her and hope she pays attention. Unfortunately that doesn't happen, Mao just becomes embarrassed for a moment before letting her mind wander and forgetting about it. Thankfully lunch was after history so she had that to look forward to. Watanabe-sensei left to eat in the staff room with most other teachers while the fair skinned brunette sat at her desk with a bento her mother had prepared for her. Mao wasn't the type to join people for lunch, so she usually sat alone unless someone wanted to eat with her. By the time lunch was halfway over she had eaten a little over half of the food but she was still eating, albeit slowly.

"My focus is to forget the pain of life. Forget the pain, mock the pain, reduce it. And laugh."

As soon as the sun showed itself behind the curtains, Lucia knew it was time for school. It wasn't that she necessarily didn't like school, she still just wasn't very fond of people. Turning herself over away from the sun, she almost started falling asleep, but her father walked in, and she couldn't help but moan and pull her pillow over her face. "Lucia, wake up. It's your first day of second year, and you're going to be late." She said, walking over to the curtains and pulling them open. Lucia pushed her covers off, and sprung herself upwards staring at her mother tiredly. "I don't wanna go. I don't know why I can't be home-schooled anymore..." She whined. "You know I have work to do, and you need to get used to people and make friends." Lucia got up from her bed. "Grandma wants me home.." She said under her breath before walking into the bathroom. She stared at herself in the mirror, and rubbed her eyes. Her mother didn't know that she could talk to spirits sometimes that wanted her to see them.

Lucia walked downstairs for breakfast after she got dressed and put everything she needed in her bag. She sat down and stared at her father who sat across from her. "We're sure gonna miss you today." He said before sipping his coffee. He meant everyone at the bakery. They loved working with Lucia. They're all like her older siblings. Atleast that's how she felt. Lucia watched as her mother put a cup of hot tea and two slices of toast in front of her. "Sorry I didn't get up this morning to make breakfast." Lucia's mother and father smiled at her. "You're not expected to cook for us every day darling. School Is the most important thing now, so focus on that, and then make the restaurant your second priority." Lucia didn't necessarily want to think of the restaurant as her second choice, but she also wanted to make her parents proud.

She wasn't too far away from the school, so she decided to walk instead of making her parents drive her. Putting her head phones in, she turned her country music on. She loved country music the most out of any music. She grew up with it other then the regular Japanese music that she listened to. She wasn't necessarily good at English, but did know how to sing in English. When she finally made it to the school, she almost dreaded the moment. She sighed, and walked up to the front door, gripping the handle with shaky hands. "I'll be okay Gram.." She said softly to the spirit that stood beside her before opening the door, and walking down the hall to her classroom. 'B-1 Right...?' She asked before stepping in front of her classroom door. She took a deep breath, and looked at her watch. 7:05. Class starts in ten minutes. When she opened the door, she only took one glance before quickly sitting in the closest seat to the door in the front row. It seemed only about 6 people were in so far. She kept her head low, not really wanting to attract any attention.

After home room, she had math, which she didn't necessarily dislike. She knew math was important to be a chef, so she always payed extra attention. Science was her second class, and she really liked it. Science always peaked her interest. The way cells form, and how people are born. The reason for the solar system, and how the earth formed. The way people can create new medicines and the like. But when ever she got to history, she would always almost fall asleep. Although she tried her best to have the greatest grade, she just couldn't get herself into it. She just didn't care. And finally, the bell rang for Lunch. Lucia got up from her seat, and started down for the cafeteria. She hated the crowd that builds up so she almost ran when on her way. She ordered a teriyaki chicken wrap, wrapped in a tomato wrap, with only lettuce. Also with honey mustard dressing, a carton of chocolate milk, and a cup of strawberries. She payed with her card from her parents, and walked outside quickly. She always loved being outside to think to herself. And the benches in front of the beautiful flowers made her feel at such ease.

                            Beep. Beep. Beep.

The sound of an alarm sounded throughout the small, wooden-walled room as a feminine, muffled groan escaped from under a comforter. Kicking off the layers of mismatching cloth until they fell into a pile on the carpeted floor, Kumiko Hiyama slowly moved into a sitting position on the twin-sized bed before silencing the repetitive noise. She rubbed at her azure orbs with the back of her hands as she threw her legs over the side, gathering to her feet. Minutes later, aqua strands were dripping beads of water as she dried her frail figure with a towel and threw on the uniform she had been provided during the break. Today would be her first time attending Akakawa Academy, and though feelings of anxiousness were floating around, she couldn't help but feel excited. Joining her father, Hikoki, and her younger brother, Ginta, in the kitchen, she greeted them with quick hugs and began eating the meal that had been prepared and placed in its usual spot. Ginta noted and complimented her uniform, as well as Hikoki, causing a sincere smile to form upon her lips.

The two children called out to their father before the door closed and they started their walk on the dirt road. The family had always lived in the rural area of Migiwasato, though her father was a painter rather than the farmer typically resided there. Their mother passed away from illness six years ago, and her older brother, Shin, was away at college for the time-being. After passing the only graveyard in all of Migiwasato, the two stood at the train station, and several minutes later, were in the residential area. They parted ways and she began picking up her pace. Being late on her first day would make her feel horrible. Stopping momentarily to admire the new posters plastered on the windows of the bookstore, she placed a finger to her bottom lip. She would stop by on the way home almost daily to purchase something new, being she read books at the speed of light.

Finally, Kumiko's main walk was over. Now, she just had to be sure to go to the right classroom. As other students passed and said quick morning greetings, she smiled and did the same. The anxiousness faded away when she took her seat in the middle row of class A-2. History, which happened to be one of her favorite classes, was thankfully her first period. Taking a notebook and two pens out of her bag before hanging it on the side of the desk, she brushed blue strands of hair that had fallen from the twin-tails she tied this morning behind her ears and adjusted her hot pink, thick-framed glasses upon the bridge of her nose. She took one deep breath, two deep breaths, muttered to herself, "You'll be okay, Kumi," before squishing her cheeks with either hand. The teacher walked in just as the bell rang for class to start, and lunch time came around faster than she thought it would.

Receiving her bento from her bag, she stood from her seat and waded through the other students. In secondary school, she enjoyed lunch on the rooftop, and she didn't plan to discontinue now. After climbing the steps to the roof, she pushed open the door and a wave of fresh air tickled her exposed skin. Smiling lightly, she took a seat against the fence and began eating silently, head tilted upwards, eyes focused on the clear, baby blue and white blanket above.

Hoshimi was awoken to her mother knocking on the door softly, being a light sleeper the pale eyed girl opened her eyes slowly blinking as she looked around her still dark room. Through the walls of her house she could hear her mother talking with her siblings, the twins were heavy sleepers and often took two or three talks with in order for them to wake up. Hoshimi pushed away her comforter with the night sky spread out across it as she put her feet against the chilly floor causing her to shiver, waking up instantly. She got out of bed, remade it before grabbing her uniform and making her way to her bathroom, last year her parents decided it was about time she had her own bathroom. After a quick shower she was out drying her long mane of wavy hair with a towel as she listened to her mother and father talk vaguely about something down stairs. Only muffled voices told her they were talking.

She put her hair in double braids which was the usual thing for her, let to worry about it while in class. She walked out of the bathroom ready to go as she made her way down the stairs in her socks, Sora and Tsukiyo were fighting over the bathroom as she walked down with her bag in her hand. Sitting at the table her mother smiled at her while she set the food down in front of her, this was slightly unusual as usually her parents were gone by now. "What's wrong?" Hoshimi asked curiously watching her parents. "I have a doctors appointment today, after your club activities, so you have to come to the bookstore right away." Kaede said with a sweet smile, Hoshimi sighed lightly but nodded. "As usual." She said lightly while eating her food and getting up to go into the refrigerator to grab the simple bento she made last night, finding it gone she turned around trying to not look annoyed. "The twins got hungry last night in the middle of the night, I didn't think you'd mind if I let them have it." Kaede said with a smile. She was a rather slow mother sometimes.

"Of course not, its not like I spent three hours making everyone's lunch for today so everyone had something." Hoshi muttered in irritation as she grabbed her empty bento box, rewashed it and scrounged for left overs of anything at this point. Hearing her father chuckle she turned to him with a stern look. "Why aren't you out working yet?" She asked watching her father flinch slightly knowing his daughter was in a bad mood already. "Uh... I wanted to see my children off to their first day of school." He said meekly with a smile. Hoshi put her lid on the bento before grabbing her bento marked 'CATS FOOD' and put them both into her bag before she slipped on her shoes and grabbed her larger bag containing her swim gear, which had been placed by the door last night. She opened the door muttered a 'I'm leaving now' as she exited the front door and started on her walk towards the school.

Hoshi walked down the street heading towards the park where she slowly felt this morning's tension escape her. The morning was a bit cool from the breeze that blew by once in a while as she walked; over all it was calming. That and the two little cute kittens finally appeared making their way over towards her meowing happily, with a smile on her face she finished the trek up to the school in much better spirits. After wishing the kittens a good day and warning them to behave she made her way inside where she switched out her shoes and put away her swim bag she made her way to class C-3. Walking in she found she was the first one in the classroom and decided to pick the first row, first seat so that she was right by the window. The class filled up, Kyouya-sensei started class quickly where he took attendance and then they started with science. It was alright enough for the quiet girl before it moved on to English, her favorite subject. She whizzed through the sheet of homework and classwork almost instantly, and then gym started, unhappily she wore the gym uniform before doing whatever sport it was they did today.

Then she was free, it was lunch time as she quickly changed grabbed the two bento boxes and left the classroom, she switched her shoes and went outside finding someplace to sit on the grass where she had left Mouko and Ayame. She opened the bento for the two growing kitties and waited while she started to eat her own food, she wondered where the two little troublemakers were as they were usually waiting for her, but didn't worry about them.

A mop of black hair could be seen sticking out from under a thin blanket that covered the body of Nanase Hideyuki. The male had been sleeping but now he was groaning, the sounds of his family waking him. The twins were always so loud, much to his dismay. He would enjoy being able to sleep in a little, but that would be impossible with them around. Before moving from his futon Hide looked at the clock on his wall and then scowled. He could've slept for another fifteen minutes, which didn't seem like a big deal but for someone like him it was. He valued his sleep so he disliked being woken before the time he had set. With a groan he pulled himself off of the ground and began to get ready for school. He took his time in the bath since he had time to spare, relaxing in the warm water helped his mood brighten slightly. Not that one would be able to tell due to the bored expression he wore.

With his body and hair clean, Hide returned to his room in order to dress. It was the last month of summer so they would be switching to the fall/winter uniform soon, but for now the black haired male put on his spring/summer uniform. He liked the uniforms, they were much more relaxed than then ones he wore while he attended school in Tokyo. After dressing he gathered his belonging into his leather messenger bag, but placed his MP3 Player into his pocket. He didn't bother to brush his hair before leaving his room and entering the kitchen where his father and brothers were. The twins appeared to be arguing over something unclear while his father tried to calm them. The green eyed teenager walked past the noisy scene in order to grab a banana, then proceeded toward the door. "I'm off.", he stated plainly, but he wasn't heard before he left his home. Such a ruckus was common in his household, which was a headache to him.

As Hide walked down a dirt road he put his earbuds in and began listening to his MP3 Player, hands shoved into his pants pockets. He walked along for a little while before reaching the train stop where he stood waiting. He lived too far away to walk and get there on time since he didn't want to have to wake up any earlier than he already did so he took the train into town. This brought him closer to the school for it was only a few minutes away. The train wasn't too crowded, unlike in Tokyo. This was something else he liked about Migiwasato, although the train that stayed in the town was usually a bit more crowded than the train that went back and forth between the residential and rural areas. Hide got off at the designated stop and headed toward Akakawa Academy. He looked down at his watch to check the time and was pleased to see he would have a few minutes to spare. Hopefully in that time he wouldn't be bothered by any of the girls in his class. Being the new student he'd attracted a lot of attention seeing as how everyone knew he wasn't from the island and it wasn't often they received new students.

Hide arrived at school and went straight to his locker so he could put his bag away. He grabbed the items he would need and then changed his shoes before heading to class. He still had his earbuds in, hoping that would deter anyone from talking to him. He took his seat behind a blue haired girl and immediately looked towards the windows as he waited for the teacher to come in. The black haired male enjoyed history alright so he could get interested in what was being taught. Afterwards came Gym, not an academic class but he enjoyed it because he was an athletic teen. He'd joined the Kendo Club as soon as he heard of its existence for it was his favorite sport. Instead of being in the field they spent the class period in the pool, which Hide didn't prefer. Math was next, which was his favorite subject seeing as how he was quite good at it. As soon as that class ended it was time for lunch, which the black haired boy was happy about seeing as how his stomach was beginning to grumble. He was pulling out his bento when he heard the voice of a female. He looked up to see two of his classmates, both girls, standing next to his desk. "Nanase-kun, would you eat lunch with us?", the closer one asked while they both blushed and grinned.

Hide wanted nothing more than to run away that second but at had to remain calm for the sake of his pride. He hoped they didn't notice his trembling hands as he still held his lunch, head down. The male swallowed and began to look up, but as soon as he did the girl who spoke before was now much closer. This almost caused him to jump, but thankfully he only widened his eyes in surprise. "Well, will you?", she asked impatiently. "Tch, I'm leaving.", he said curtly before turning walking out of the classroom. Once in the hallway he walked at a quick pace, dodging people along the way. He soon reached the stairs which he took up to the rooftop of the school. Hide quickly opened and shut the door, leaning his back against it and looking up at the clear sky. "Idiots..", he muttered and the sighed, standing up right. He finally looked at his surroundings and noticed another person was there. "I.. I didn't see you there..", the green eyed teenager managed to say after the initial shock of running into another girl, hands trembling once again. He recognized her though, she was the blue haired girl that sat in front of him during class.

"Another day another dollar." Kaito sighed as he got out of bed, and quickly got ready, his fluffy silver colored hair messed up from a night of sleep, the boy slid on his summer uniform as his father walked in, already covered in dirt from what he could only guess as working in the fields. Kaito's father smiled at the boy and patted him on the back, "It's you first day of school son, you're almost a man, and I couldn't be prouder of you" Kaito's father's words were sweet and sincere, something the boy never got from his father, so the man's word put Kaito in a positive mood, but he couldn't help, but feel like his father had an ultimatum behind his kind words. Kaito nodded at his father, and began to walk out of his room, and into the kitchen, but as he did his father spoke up, "By the way I will need you to run a delivery of produce to the teacher in 1-B, I'll have it sent to you at lunch." Kaito nodded and quickly grabbed his lunch, and left before his sisters or mother were even awake, being president he had to meet with the teachers to talk about events he was going to have to do in the first week.

Kaito rushed onto the train, even though his family owned a shop that was also a house in the town Kaito's family lived in the farmlands, and it was very common for him and his father to live in the shop during the school year. The boy got on the train heading for the town, it wasn't a long ride, but at this time it was perfect, no one was on the train, and the morning dew began to shine in the fresh sunrise, the rays of sun glistened off the water of the farms as people began their long day of hard labor. The train passed only green lush field of a long time until small houses spotted the sides, and as the went on the house became more common, Kaito began to see children in their wards waving goodbye to their parents, and walking to school ~~ Time passed, and the train finally stopped in the town, and the quiet sounds to his hometown filled the air, and the smells of bakeries making new items put a smile on his face.

It took his about fifteen minutes, but eventually Kaito arrived at his school, the boy ruched inside, and changed his shoes before rushing to his class room for his meeting. Once he got inside Kaito was greeted by warm smiles from the teachers in the room, the boy bowed at his teachers before taking a seat, Kaito was soon attacked with questions from his elders, ranging from how his break was to what his welcome speech was going to sound like, as for his normal self Kaito answered the questions in a vague and odd way laving the teachers happy, and put back. The president had to sign papers for nearly an hour before his home room teacher looked down at his watch and announced that school was going to begin in a hour. Everyone besides Kaito and his teacher left the room as the boy chose a seat in the back, and fell asleep getting some well deserved sleep before his day began

Time passed and Kaito was awoken by the sound of the bell ringing, and class officially beginning. Kaito's day was normal, he didn't expect much to happen, but he was called on a few times for questions no one else wanted to answer, so the boy breezed through his day, and when lunch came around Kaito was greeted by a bag of produce on his deck, and a note from his father saying that he needed to deliver the bag, As Kaito stood up his teacher walked up smiling, evidently he was supposed to say a few words to the first year students, and greet them, so The boy rushed down to the class room, and greeted the class in his half assed 'I could care less about you' way, he would have been quickly up to the second year's class, but he was stopped each time he was about to leave by another student asking his a question, and none of them were worth his time, so once he finished with the new students he ran to b-1 panting, lunch was half over, and he hadn't even began to eat his lunch, Kaito threw the bag on the teacher's deck, and looked around, his sisters were in this class, but neither of them wanted to acknowledge that their older brother was in the same room as them. Kaito wiped sweat from his brow, and began to walk to an empty desk next to a girl who all alone, being as friendly as he is Kaito walked up to the empty deck and sat down flinging his feet onto the deck in front of his and looked at the girl with an almost flirty smile "Mind if I sit here? I've been running around all lunch." The boy sighed and looked around his sisters still ignoring him as hard as they could, "Names Yukimura, Yukimura Kaito I'm in class c-1"

Mao sat quietly at her desk, almost frozen as she stared out the window up at the sky. It was a beautiful bright blue with a few fluffy white clouds slowly moving along. She noticed that a large cloud looked very much like a big bowl of ramen, while a small one slightly connected to it resembled a frog. This sight put a small smile on her face, it amused her to see things in the clouds. She averted her gaze slightly in order to look down at the flowers outside. While doing so she saw a familiar face, Lucia. The two had been friends since the were younger, one of the few she was able to make. The had a decent amount in common, plus there there aspects of their personalities that were similar so it made since for them to get along so well. Mao was happy when Lucia joined the Occult Research Club with her since it allowed them to spend more time together doing something they were both very interested in.

After a moment of staring down at her green eyed friend Mao thought about going out to join her. In the midst of this thought process an older male with silver hair sat in the empty desk next to her, placing his feet on the empty desk in front of it. The second year didn't notice his presence at all until he began to speak. Mao then turned her head to look at the male, recognizing him at the Student Council President. She blinked, wearing a surprised expression on her face, before smiling back. "I don't mind.", she replied kindly, placing her chopsticks in her nearly empty bento. She hadn't expected him to continue speaking to her, so the brunette had turned her head back to the other side in order for her to continue going out of it. As he began to introduce himself she looked back in his direction. "Please to meet you, Yukimura-san. I'm Takagi Mao.", she replied, bowing her head slightly. "I recognize you, you're the Student Council President.", she added after a moment since he seemed to want to talk with her.

Mao wasn't used to boys approaching her, especially third years so she had been a bit surprised at first. She felt more normal after their introduction since he was being kind to her. Some of the other girls in her class were unhappy with Kaito's kindness, though. They were the popular girls that had crushes on him, so they didn't like him talking to a 'weird girl' as they called her. They were glaring daggers at her, but the brown eyed teenager was oblivious to such. Mao continued to smile at Kaito, being the naturally cheerful girl that she was. "Do you not get along with your sisters?", she asked out of the blue, not realizing that her question wasn't the type one would usually ask after having just formally met someone. She realized after having heard his name that the two Yukimura girls were his sisters, so she found it odd that he wasn't talking to them. She didn't have siblings so she didn't quiet understand the relationship.

able to hangout with her more. They had seen each other a few times since he had gotten back
from New York, but it was always easier when they saw each other during lunch and clubs. In
addition to swim club, they both were apart of the popular occult research club. Ryuu didn't

him for horror stories to tell the middle schoolers, the terror he saw in them was always

hadn't pulled any pranks since the beginning of the summer and now it was already the Oban
festival. "Maybe we could pull a prank to get the new year off to a good start."

The first half of the day passed by without much of a surprise.
Teachers going over expectations, classroom rules, and the testing schedule for the year, it

outside where he thought that one of his friends may be lurking. Before he had left for America
last year, Hattori had rescued a pair of kittens during a storm and had been taking care of them.
Because pets weren't allowed in the building, or her home, she usually fed them during the day.
He vaguely remembered her feeding them at school once or twice, and he hoped that that's

Hoshimi sat on the grass while she ate enjoying the peacefulness of the day thus far, instead a smile crossed her face as she heard her friend join her and start talking. "If they made you captain, I'd feel sorry for the poor souls who have to learn from you." She said looking up at Akiyama. The two of them were in Swim club together and the Occult research club as well so they spent plenty of time together, even though they were a year apart and had no classes together. Hoshimi enjoyed talking with Ryuu and the two of them usually just joked around and teased each other, which isn't a side many people actually see from her. She has to be the mature one in her family which means responsibilities and being an adult in her family, that reminded her of having to go straight to the book store to work tonight.

Hoshimi took her thoughts away from those thoughts and instead stared at her friend, fellow club-mate and underclassman. Seeing the bright pink and blue streaks in his hair made her smile slyly as she glanced down at her food. "You know, those colors are going to fade out in the swimming pool if you don't wear your cap... it would be quite sad if something were to happen and you couldn't find it." She was of course just teasing him, she enjoyed his colored hair, he was always fun and exciting. Hearing meowing she seen Mouko and Ayame making their way through the bushes and running over towards her with a smile she watched as both cats made it to the bowl of food and started eating. Turning to Ryuu she winked slightly. "You don't see them." The two small cats were healthy, it was easy to tell as they ate happily, the fur on them was lush and fluffy.

Hoshi went back to eating the rest of her food, after she finished she put away her bento and instead leaned back slightly against the grass, the weather today was nice. "I can't wait for swim club to start, you ready for it?" She asked with a smile while looking at Ryuu once more. She started to laugh though as Mouko was trying to club up the boy with her, trying to bat at his hair while Ayame was curled up by Hoshi's knee on the grass. "Mouko! You silly cat, don't do that to Akiyama." Hoshi playfully scolded but she couldn't actually get made it was adorable to see the orange tabby trying to climb on Ryuu.

turned upwards in a smile, before he let out a stream of laughter, doubling over and holding his

Once Akiyama finished his laughing, he curled a neon lock from his bangs around his finger,
listening to his friend's idle threat with a small smile. "I'm surprised you know so
much about hair dye Hattori, I don't think I've ever seen you dye your hair."
                                                                          he said slyly, and
focused on the brightly colored lock wrapped tightly around his finger, "It would be a

                                                                          out."
he said with a cheeky grin. The neon pink and cyan were the first shipment his mother had
sent him, but once every two weeks since then, his mother sent him another package with
more hair dyes. He had tried to tell her that he could buy them here, in Akakawa, but she
insisted that she send them, and that he send her a picture of him after every time he dyed his

As the two kittens came running out of the bushes, Akiyama smiled at Hattori,
"Of course not. The cat hair on my pants is obviously left over from my mom's house in

he said with a joking smile,
and watched the kittens eat happily. He stroked their fur softly, then went back to finishing his

what would the team do without their star attraction"
he said with another cheeky grin, then looked
down as he felt the soft paws of one of the kittens on him. His cheeky grin melted away, and a

"It's fine, I like cats" he said, and carefully lifted the kitten into his lab. He softly stroked the kitten's

                                                                          Blood_drenched_okami

xx xxx FIRST YEAR → SWIM CLUB MEMBER xxx WITH ⋮ ? xxx THINKING ⋮ 'i hope i have a good year...'

‘Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! Be—‘ The brown haired girl’s alarm rang, alerting her that it was time for the day to start. It was set nice and early, 5:45 AM to be exact. Emi Hayashi jumped out of bed, nearly tripping over a pile of clothes in the process. Slipping into a dressing gown and slippers, she walked to the bathroom, having a quick shower (which really went for 15 minutes) and washing her hair. Today was the first day of first year! Emi couldn’t be happier, it meant one year closer to leaving this goddamn awful island and moving on to her greatest dream of becoming an animal carer. It’s all she’s ever wanted, and now she was closer than ever to achieving her goal. After drying, getting dressed and applying her makeup, she skipped downstairs to grab some breakfast. Emi picked up an apple, cutting it into wedges and eating it, slice by slice as she made her lunch. By the time she finished, it was 6:30, just about the time that she left for school. She loved walking, so she took the extra, extra long way to school every day. That didn’t stop all the nerves, though. When nervous, Emi had a bad habit of tapping her feet or playing with her hair. She was doing both of those while getting ready for school, trying to keep her breathing normal. “Emi.” She heard a voice from the hall as she headed for the door. It was a rough but comforting voice, a fatherly one which made the student press her nails into her palms. “Good morning, Naegi.” She greeted to the man, who had kindly taken the small girl in after both of her parents died. Kou and Naegi were close friends with Emi’s late parents, so when they both died mysteriously, it was only decent to take her into their care, and Emi was so grateful for that, she really was. They just really babied the 15 year old, which bothered her. She loved them all the same, though. After a few moments of silence, the man finally spoke. “Have a nice day. Please make some friends, okay?” Silence fell in the dark room again, as Emi shuffled over to the back door. “Everything will be okay.” Naegi added, glancing at the girl from the hall. Emi nodded in response, quickly slipping out the door. No one in her adoptive family really talked much, apart from Kou. Oh, how Kou loved to talk. She was always on the phone to friends, went out for coffee a lot, and worked a lot. She was a lovely woman, though, she got along with everyone.

After her long walk, she finally reached school with her books and lunch, sighing as she entered the gates. Emi could tell this year would be different, she could feel it in her bones. She was in first year and she'd joined the swimming club, which would be interesting. She hadn't been swimming in a while, but she had taken lessons in the past so she had a decent swimming history. At least she wouldn't drown, that's what matters. Emi walked through the school, taking in the scenery. A slight breeze blew on her face as students took part in quiet chatter and laughter in small groups, scattered around the school yard. She made her way to class, A-2, looking over her timetable. History, gym, math, free, English and science. Nothing too hard, right? Emi walked into the class, choosing a seat at the back. She got a notebook and a black pen out of her bag before placing them on the desk, and getting ready for class. Most of the day went quickly, gym was really the only class she didn't like. The brown-eyed girl kept to herself until lunch, when the bell rang she darted out of class like there was no tomorrow. She couldn't wait to explore the campus, honestly. She'd been dying to (ha). After putting her books and things into her locker, she decided it was time to look around and meet people. Potential friends, hopefully. The brunette looked around, a small smile on her face as she admired the nature around her, twisting a bracelet on her wrist out of nerves. She took in the scent of the air, the color of the trees, the texture of the grass, everything. Emi arrived at a bench, and sat in it, hoping someone would stumble across her and try to socialise with her. Hopefully.

(ooc oops. feel free to be friends with emi if ya want idk redface )
