If my velocity starts to make you sweat...
Knuckles brushed the floor softly, and a slow rhythmic breathing was all to be heard. As moments passed slowly chirps entered the room, and the sleeping blond squinted her eyes at the window. What time was it? Groaning she rolled over on the living room couch, slowly the smell of bacon entered her nose. Who was cooking? “Hey couch potato, wake up!” Her younger brother’s voice pulled her farther from getting back to sleep. All hope in reaching that dark palace of her mind was fleeting quickly. As she rolled back over a pillow slammed her right in the face. “You punk!” Mira gasped out in anger, sitting up quickly and like that she was awake. Continuing on her morning routine of chasing her brother around to extract revenge, followed by eating breakfast, and to finish she did all the other normal things.
Time Skip
Sitting in her the passenger seat, memories of past years flooded her head. The blond soon slumped over and once again fell asleep. Mira dreamed of a life outside of this world she lived in, she didn’t want simple she wanted exciting. “Mia wake up.” That was the second time she was woken today, why was she so tired? Maybe because she spent her last night at home awake until four in the morning watching movies with her younger brother. A smile graced her lips and she stretched out her limbs. Her father was already unloading her bags from the trunk of the car, her mother had wanted to be there but couldn't afford it with work and as for her little brother well he had school. When Mira exited the car, her eyes scanned the school, the beautiful gate and wondrous buildings. In all her luck she ended up being able to attend this school, she loved it. “Alright hun, that’s everything.” He patted her on the back and smiled his broad smile at her. He was a large man with warmth that just drew people in. “Papa” She whispered as she hugged him, burying her face in his chest. He chuckled at her and did his normal bear hug. With this they parted ways and she grabbed her bags, hooking one over her shoulder, she started dragging the other two.
When she entered the lobby already two other students were sitting there, one was a petite blond girl and the other was a male. It took her by shock at first but then she recalled the letter from the Headmistress, oh this year was sure to be odd. Pulling out her phone she glanced at the time, 8:22, most of the staff arrived early in the morning but the lobby seemed oddly empty. They were probably dealing with some last minute issues or something, surely they would be back by 8:30 right? Mira hoped so, lugging these bags around all day while it wasn't difficult it was tedious, the girl had better ways to train her muscles. Shifting her bags, she smiled warmly at the two, though the male seemed like he was sleeping? In the lobby? A small laugh escaped her lips, when she looked to the girl she nodded a hello and waved. Mira dropped her bags next to one of the benches and also took a seat, "Good morning".
