xxxxxA couple days staying in the dorms and Terrance was horrendously underwhelmed. His dorm felt like cell which kept him from returning unless it was absolutely necessary. Sleep. That was about the only time he went in there. The rest of the time he had to be on his feet, moving, or at least fidgeting. He once thought it was due to too much energy keeping him from relaxing, yet no amount of activity would satisfy him. It felt inhuman to run as many laps as he did around the track. It was that or climbing up to the highest roof and leaning over the edge.

Terrance was up there at the moment. Chin resting on his crossed arms, he stared over the school gates at the visible town before trees obscured anything beyond that. He envied the birds that could simply take off as they pleased enough to honestly feel angry over it. It was becoming exhausting not quelling that need. He rose to his feet and started pacing with his arms behind his head. A road trip? Why not go to the beach? A hiking trip? Instead of wasting his time here, he could be backpacking through Europe. That sounded like a good time. A grin grew on his face as he faced the direction of the blowing wind. Who needed drugs when a feeling like that existed?

Before his mind wandered too far, Terrance set his thoughts on the cafeteria. Food was the best distraction. Luckily, they opened that early. He slid down the roof access ladder and felt the need to dash to the cafeteria. A couple of staff members cautioned him to slow down, but he rolled his eyes at them. Some students called out his name that remembered him from last year, but he grimaced at them and continued. No one really cared to get to know him and he did the same. Why should he bother?

“Ah! Good morning Terrance!” One of the ladies behind the counter greeted him as he entered. Terrance feigned a smile and went straight for the food. Gross. He hated breakfast. It garnered the worst selection to choose from in his opinion. Regardless, it was something to eat. With a full plate, he seated himself at an empty table to people watch.

Jake was a bit in a panic. Not blindingly so, but enough to put him on edge. It wasn't out of fright for nothing could scare him, but out of knowing this was his last year. Half of him felt elated! He was finally going to graduate and move on to become someone famous for their directing! But his other half refused to believe that lie. Why? He didn't know. Only that ever since he first started out in this school, things have been getting... weird. He had found some stuff tucked away in some secret compartment he came upon accidentally within a bookshelf he liked to frequent. He found notes in certain areas within the chemistry lab or computer lab in places only he could reach or just in places he was commonly found in. The most disturbing part of it was that he'd found things hidden in the tree grove he liked to spend his time in, the only place he knew no one came to.

But it was only the first week. He had the rest of this year and after to figure out how these materialistic things in his writing had gotten to places only his eyes can see without having even him knowing how they got there.

"Hey Jake!" startled from his musings, Jake fumbled with the book in his hands, catching it before it fell to the grassy floor. He looked up with deep blue eyes inquisitively towards a group of sophomores waving at him. He smiled kindly and waved back. "Good morning! How was summer?" They each gave their own story, promising to tell more after they settled in. He merely nodded as they headed towards the dorms. When they were far enough, he reopened the book and sighed. It was one thing for him to know what he knew, but for others, he wasn't sure what would happen. This book contained a lot of connect-the-dots knowledge in it that he still didn't understand, but was getting there and he'd have all of the school year to do it.

That's when his stomach growled and he laughed at himself. He'd forgotten to eat again and having no acquired taste for high school food, he always brought his own from home. He pulled a sandwich out from his pack and began to eat it while switching the mysterious book out for an actual school book he was to know for when classes start.

xxxxx We're caught in a trap. I can't walk out. Because I love you too much baby. The waves of hair Leilani tossed to and fro grew wild with each flick of her head. Presley’s music always brought out the wild dance moves, even the slow songs pulled rapid fist pumping and head flailing. None of that mattered to her seeing as she was alone in her dorm room at the time. With the door open, she maneuvered her dance moves into the hall to grab another box of her belongings.

Freshman move in day might have been easier if she wasn’t late getting there. The others were probably all settled in by now. Leilani sighed and pulled her oversized headphones onto her shoulders. “I would’ve been here sooner if Mom didn’t insist on holding me hostage.” That’s exactly what her mother did before Leilani left Hawaii. Always with the clinginess over her precious baby. Her and her sister got that treatment quite often. “Ohana, Mom. Ohana.” She pulled out a framed picture of her family together and held it close to her chest.

The picture had a special place on her night stand while the rest of her belongings fell into a pile as she capsized the box. “My books!” Leilani was elated to have found that her favorite series of Dr. Gore’s Midnight Terror novels were recovered from the attic. “I haven’t seen these in years!” Surprisingly, they were lacking the copious amounts of dust that regular attic items had. That didn’t bother her. Clearly, her mother had time to spruce them up before shipping them off. Leilani stacked the books neatly on a desk at the edge of her bed when a small glint caught her eye.

At the bottom of the box she emptied, there remained a single polaroid picture wedged in the box folds. Leilani feared it was from her collection and dove for it only to be disappointed when it was merely a picture of her. “Why would I have this?” Narrowing her eyes, Leilani wondered who the blonde male was in the picture. She didn’t recall taking a picture of herself and having a random guy drop in. That was the most probable explanation, but she would remember that. The funny thing was that the boy was the one that had taken her camera to take the photo. It was clear by the angle.

“Hm?” Leilani placed the picture on her nightstand as well. That was an oddity she’d focus on later. First, she had to finish unpacking.

Startled yet again from his musings, Jake looked up to see Alex smirking down at him. With a raised brow and an amusing smirk of his own, he lay the book down on his lap and propped his head on his hand, the other pressed to his chest in mock pain.

"What, you planning to get rid of me that fast? I'm hurt Alexander!" He pouted. "And to think I considered you a friend. Kicking me away like that."

Jake was not considered an evil person. His words would always pass harmlessly through ears by the wide grin on his face showing that it was all in jest. Unless of course, someone decided to hurt his friends, in which case he'd get on their butts immediately. And it's happened a few times before, which earned him much respect - and loathing - as he didn't have to.

"What about you though? I'm ready for senior year. Are you ready to be a junior?"

Jackson strolled aimlessly through the school hallways, hands folded behind his neck and humming a random tune to himself. It was too early to start anything in school as it didn't officially start until the next week but he had friends coming in that had dorms in which he was all to eager to greet and hang out with again. No one, however, seemed to be there just yet. It was going on ten o'clock and he was getting a bit annoyed that he came here for no reason. His sister even bugged him to stay home as their mother was out on business until late evening and she'd be bored with just the animals to herd around.

Pushing air through his lips and making his arms go limp by his sides, he gave up, slouching over as he turned a corner to the main entrance. "Well this was a waste of time." His stomach growled and he groaned again. He forgot to eat again this morning, as always. It didn't help that everyone poked fun at his small-ish height and skinny figure. "Eat something" they'd say, pushing their leftover food towards him, and he'd take it, eating it as if he'd never had a plate of food in years. Which, again, didn't help in matters of trying to prove that he really didn't get many hunger pangs. He never felt like eating, never had an urge to except in the mornings for some reason. His energy was boundless, with the occasional break here and there. So no, he didn't need to eat often.

Which he found quite odd, but whatever. Jackson headed straight for the cafeteria, and not having a dorm on campus, living just on the farmland of town, he didn't get the luxury of free food. But it didn't stop the lunch ladies from slipping him a muffin now and again. "Why if it isn't Jacky!" said lunch lady greeted with a warm smile. She was in her forties, and went by the name of Gwen. He liked her simply because she always favored him. He couldn't deny to himself that he was a little conceited when it came to attention. "Hi, Gwen!" he waved. "Are you the only one here right now?" He hadn't seen anyone else. "Of course not," she scoffed. "Heather's in the back making the pies for lunch. I've no idea where David went, but we'll hunt him down eventually." They both shared a laugh as he pulled random assortments of food on his plate and paid. "Just don't go too hard on him." Gwen slipped him an apple crisp. "When don't I?" She winked and he walked away with a wave. She was always so nice.

Jackson sat at a random table not really caring who was there and dug in to whatever he grabbed. He might as well lounge around since he was there and see who out of his friends would show up. That or he'd make new ones out of the Freshmen's. They would get to know his splendor soon enough with winter coming along as he always ran the school winter season celebrations.
