This was her perfect night, the night she had been waiting for. Nobody else would be coming through this alley, no one else would notice the gasps and the possible screams. Scratch that. There would be no screams. This was to be a quick and silent operation, one that she couldn't afford to be sloppy with. She leaned against the wall, her eyes glowing slightly as she increased her range of vision. There he was, walking along the beaten path as he always had. He wouldn't be surprised to see her again, not when she had been in this alleyway the last two weeks he had made his way though this area. His white hair stood out against the black of the night, his red eyes cast to the ground. His emotions weren't in check, that was certain. His eyes were wetter than they should have been, even with this downpour of rain. The young assassin did not understand his plight, nor would she understand why he would react to it in such a way to it, but the weakness was all she needed.

Pushing herself gently off of the wall, she started towards him and watched as his eyes snapped up to meet hers. Her face was cold, almost unnervingly so and she watched him with the eyes a predator reserves for their prey. He looked confused as to why she was walking towards him in such a way until she lunged at him. The confusion persisted even as he defended himself against her attacks, but it quickly deteriorated. Confusion turned to anger as his eardrums began to betray him, but even so Rhea was shocked to see that he barely flinched. Everything he heard would sound like a rocket being launched into orbit and yet... yet, he wouldn't stop defending himself against her attacks. She blinded him, she cut off his sense of smell, yet he still seemed to know where she was coming from. She tried to stop him in his tracks by numbing his entire body when....

                                                                          What?

Rhea's entire body went numb, her legs like jelly underneath her. She fell to the ground and looked up at the man, her eyes wide. She tried to pain him so he couldn't reach her, but instead she felt it. Hot, invisible knives carved into Rhea's body and she focused all of her energy on numbing the pain again. Her opponent took that opportunity to close the distance between them and grabbed her by the throat. The anger in his eyes scared her... or perhaps it was the knowledge of what he was about to do. Either way, Rhea lost her senses. She tried everything to get away from him, but of course everything she tried only backfired. Tears ran down her cheeks and she began to shake, her blinded eyes wide with fear. She was going to die. She had failed her father, had failed in her mission to kill her target, and now she was going to die.

But she didn't. He had let go of her, but why? She had never begged him, she had never even said a word, yet he had still let her go....

                                                                          Isaac.

Rhea's eyes opened, staring blankly at her teacher as she tried to rid herself of her sleepiness. She hadn't slept for so long... it was getting hard to stay awake. Ms. Akemi, her teacher, frowned at her for a moment for falling asleep, but chose not to say anything. It was odd, in all honesty. Everyone had been treating her differently since Isaac had left, but she didn't understand why. They all acted as if she should be crying, in fact Ms. Akemi had offered her hot coco if she needed 'a shoulder to cry on', but she didn't understand why she would be crying. She just wanted to find him... why would she cry over that?

Ms. Akemi paused the class for a moment to walk over to Rhea, her kigurumi's lion tail hitting another student in the face for a moment. "See me after class. I'll write you a slip to the nurse so you can sleep." She murmured, her voice kind. Rhea looked at her, a slightly confused look on her face.

"I do not require sleep." She said, though the slight slur in her voice certainly suggested otherwise. Ms. Akemi opened her mouth to argue with her, her cheeks puffing out as they usually did, when suddenly an alarm sounded. Rhea leaned back in her chair just as Ms. Akemi jumped on top of her desk so she could look at all her other students. She did a quick headcount and began to rifle off instructions on how they should all stay seated, keep their heads down (figuratively speaking of course), and remain calm. Rhea stared at her, her eyes flicking from student to student quickly before she asked, in a monotonous tone, "Is the school in immediate danger?"

Ms. Akemi puffed out her cheeks again and shook her head from side to side. "We shouldn't be. We've taken every precaution necessary an-"

                                                                          BOOM!

The sound shook the classroom and Ms. Akemi fell backward onto the floor, letting out a small sound of discomfort before she jumped back up. Rhea got up from her chair and attempted to look outside before Ms. Akemi yelled at her to get back in her seat. Rhea obliged, of course, but it couldn't keep her from wondering.

What was going on? Why was their so much noise outside? And where on earth was Isaac?! He would know what to do and if he were here... this probably wouldn't even be happening. He knew how to deal with the humans on the outside, he knew how to keep the students safe. he always said that the school and Rhea were the most important things to him... but then where was he now?

Rhea would continue to work until she found out.

OOC: SUCKS I KNOW BUT IT'S THERE

It was odd but that's how most things started, right? The day was particularly normal with nothing really warning you that it was going to be way different than what you would expect. All though some people had greater intuitions than others and so it was probably normal that people believed the day had felt slightly off, but Kouko didn't. Maybe it was because she didn't get that much sleep at night. There was no one to blame but herself for that, she couldn't really sleep due to how overcharged she felt; she was completely restless. Her hands twitched all night, begging her to do something to entertain her mind that was awake despite what she wished. And out of that boredom, she had gotten herself glued to a VN and played it most of the night, and now she was suffering from the consequences.

The first two people that appeared in her mind were Melinda and Ryuuji. They had invaded her thoughts as she had sat in the classroom, her eyes staring down at the open notebook in her front of her as she had scribbled tiny spirals at the corner of her page since Ms. Akemi had stopped teaching and was trying to distract them from what was going on outside. Everyone was nearly at the edge of their seats but Kouko, well, she acted as if she didn't care. Maybe it was because she really didn't. When it had started, she was curious and she wanted to know what was going on. Kouko wasn't naïve, she knew that whatever was happening outside was serious but what could she do if they told them to stay calm and stay in the classroom? Fretting would only aggravate her and it wasn't a time to demand answers.

Crossing her slender legs, she had looked briefly towards the door and then glanced over to Ms. Akemi who seemed to be worried about Rhea's strange behavior. It was obvious that she was tired, she could see the dark and negative shades of green within her emotional aura, which was standing out among everyone else's. Closing her eyes briefly, she wondered if she could smell out Ryuuji and Melinda's scents. She wouldn't have to worry if she could feel they were fine, but the anxiety that was mingled in their scents had overpowered her sense of smell. Her brow had furrowed and knitted together, her eyes steadily narrowing in thought. Now she was worried. She was worried about them.

The explosion that had happened a few minutes ago did not unnerve her. Since nobody was hurt, there was no use in jumping out of her seat and trying to find out what was happening. It was strange how oddly calm she was but maybe it was because being calm in amidst of danger was something instilled in her as a child. Although it was hard when emotions were spiking, all the worry she was absorbing was going to be a problem. As long as she could control her own emotions, she wouldn't have to worry about feeding off their worry and becoming worried herself but how long was that going to last? This wasn't a very ideal situation. She would much rather leave the classroom and spend some time in solitude for a little while.

This is stupid...” muttered Kouko, closing her eyes for a few minutes as she had placed her mechanical, blue pencil at the side of the notebook. Kouko wanted to—in fact she felt the need to leave the classroom. It was beginning to feel cramped and as she felt before, the emotions of others around her were starting to become her own. Her hand had pressed against her forehead, the slight tinge of a headache was forming.

"Heeeeey, uh, Ron, I kiiinda sorta gotta go...Mr. Marinov is saying the DC has to meet him, says it's--" his speech was cut off in the middle of his sentence by the sound of a large explosion nearby. He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose due to the inconvenience this riot has brought upon him. It was interrupting his time of gawking at Natalia and maybe sort of glance over at Mel if he was feeling utterly hopeless and weird. It wasn't that she was unattractive, just...not as attractive as Natalia, who represented his ultimate challenge, almost like slaying a dragon, if that meant going out with said dragon and going through the complex process of dating. The amount of sadomasochistic dedication that he had was practically unparalleled, and if he had to bulldoze his way through two or three guys, there's no question about it. The game has begun and he's memorized all of the combos, special moves, and fatalities, and he was prepared...unless he begins to feel he's losing, then it's onto the next game.

He began to write down some notes and doodle some turtles with shells made of hydrocarbons, then finally his assignment, until getting up from his desk and slowly, but surely tip-toeing his way out of the room. "yeeeeaaaah....laterrrr..." he spoke while giving a salute to his classmates and teacher from the door and began his monitoring duties. In Kaiden-speak, "monitoring duties" meant loiter and update his social media and drum out a beat, and quite possibly sing. He began to tap out a slow beat, and whistle lightly, then sing lightly with all of the experience of eight months of choir. "I wish I could sleep all daaaay~! Sneak in the bae, an' just lay here n' ******** the whole world awaaaay" Kaiden walked slowly down the hall as he whistled the instrumentals, wondering where Mr. Marinov could be outside of the security room as he continued to play on his phone. Perhaps he was sexin' it up with someone? It would really make sense, since he saw him as a less zealous version of his future self.

Once he exited the building, the sounds really started to get on his nerves, all of the shouting, screaming, the "AAAAAAAAGH! MY ARM!!!"s, it was particularly annoying. He couldn't help but sing over all of the annoying sounds "If I had my own way, I'd sleep in the bed aaaaall day, an' if bae couldn't c**, she was bein' bae, even though that's no fun, even though that's no fun, I'm just sleepin' the daaaay awaaaaay~" It was at this moment in the song where he had forgotten the words or if there was any words at all, so he just hummed and slowly walked across the campus, listening to the annoying riot going on. When he reached the dormitory building, he sighed and dragged his feet to the security room and knocked with all of the strength of a wet noodle. If he had to do actual PHYSICAL labor that wasn't rewarding in any way, he would set a world record for the longest groan ever uttered. Hopefully he'd be doing something interesting like fighting or going out to get a sandwich. This is the procedure our hero craves, along with a really delicious sandwich, Natalia's "triple L", and maybe a bit of cake if it wasn't too much to ask (he's on a diet).

"Marinooooooov....what do we doooooo?" groaned Kaiden as he sat down on a bench and slouched looking over to the door like the perfect model of a Disciplinary Committee member. The only reason he was a part of the committee was because he was practically an S Rank student in most of his combat classes, though everywhere else, he could care less. It was probably because those classes didn't require any additional work outside of it, and he kind of wanted to gain more control over his abilities to rub it in his brother's smug face. Nonetheless, his duties are seldom done outside of maybe pink slipping someone if they did something extreme like make another student bleed profusely outside of class. If it really came to serious situations or if it was someone he really hated, then his job would actually be taken seriously, but other times, he'd sit around bored and loiter with other people, and maybe smoke a cigarette or two. "Marinara-nov! Are we gonna be like guarding the front or somethin'? A useful job maybe..?" By useful, it would mean gawking at multiple females, spending time with Natalia, actually fighting, or drumming.

His eyes flashed cyan on and off as he formed a gauntlet around his arm out of psychic energy, colored dark teal with lines of black flowing through it. A blade flipped from the underside of the forearm in an out, styled much like an omni-blade, but made a much more appealing "woosh" sound when it formed. Something about this riot made him feel uneasy, not visibly, but it was just a bit strange, since these have been going on in more than just Japan. The news always talked about rising tensions between countries employing psychic soldiers, the killings, all of the fussing and fighting, it was getting a little too serious for his tastes. The worst part, was that it wasn't really among his generation at all, it was from those "first generations" like Oberon and such. "The Psychic Surge" it was called, about forty years ago, when a shockingly large amount of mutants were born over the course of the next ten years, it was horrifying, at least, that's what his mother told him. His grandfather was actually one of the people who capitalized on using the phenomenon as a source of profit, from weapons, to energy sources, to countermeasures. Why couldn't the people from ages past just die out and let those who are more knowledgeable of the times lead?

Maybe all of this idiocy would end when the world does? It didn't make sense, just accept that some people have abilities and treat them like humans and don't think you're above anyone because you have powers. It's what the wise men would call "not being a total d**k" or something to that effect. Courtesy, it's perhaps the most simple thing that these lowly angry subhumans rioting could have, or rather SHOULD have if there was any remnant of humanity in these psychopaths. The mutants were just neanderthals with sticks and the humans were neanderthals on pedestals who thought themselves tall, fighting over meaningless ground. Hopefully he could see what these riots look like a take pictures in black and white, fix them up, make it look artistic, and call it "Futility." Maybe he'd make something visually stunning since Natalia wasn't fond of loud noises and music, but the experiments would continue when the lockdown ended. "...let's get this over with." was the last thing he uttered while he waited in the lobby playing with his blade.

Wu sighed to himself as the sun peered over the horizon. He certainly wasn’t used to the change in time zones yet. He stood in the woods near the school campus, the trees around him missing pieces of their bark. Wu’s early morning training regime couldn’t be stopped, even when he was going to school. He had promised himself that much. He breathed a sigh of relief as he pulled the top half of his gui back on, making sure to grab his flask of water as he walked back down the forest path. He had to act quickly or else be discovered for his morning activities. Slipping inside quickly, he unlocked his door, making sure not to disturb his roommate. Untying his long black hair, he quickly prepared himself for the day’s classes. Shower, breakfast, clothes. Everything was completed as quickly as possible while his roommate still slept. Wu didn’t have anything against the man, yet he kept one thing in mind from the advice he was given. Always remain humble, and never draw attention to oneself.

Rushing off to the classroom, he managed to enter the room with minimal attention, quickly taking his seat at the back of the classroom. Smiling happily at any student who noticed him, he quickly readied himself for school, flipping around his long ponytail as he waited. He knew very little about his classmates, thanks to his tendency to always be away from groups. But he had to admit, he wanted to know what their powers were like as well. He was in the most advanced classroom afterall, it made sense for them to have some pretty interesting abilities… Oh well, he would find out eventually. He yawned happily to himself as he watched the teacher speak to another student when he heard it.

Boom

Wu had to say, out of all the things he had expected to occur this morning, an explosion was definitely not on the list. As he sat in his chair, his head turned immediately towards the explosion he had heard outside. Now being the naive young man that he was, he automatically assumed it had been some sort of gas leak or something unintentional, but at the same time, Wu felt something much more sinister at work. While he never wanted to believe it, his family had told him of those who might not appreciate his gifts, those would would rather live in fear of something they did not understand. Were they so afraid that they would result to violence? He breathed a small sigh. Sadly there was nothing he could do. Even if it had been something completely innocent, he wouldn’t be able to help more than a police officer or other authorities would. What was particularly interesting was the speed at which the teacher stopped Rhea from looking outside. No tolerance it seemed.

Wu couldn’t help but feel a little mischievous. The more someone barred something away, and the more they tried to hide something, the more Wu wanted to see it. It was only natural, clearly something big had happened for them to be this careful with the students. Had they known it was going to happen? Perhaps a bomb threat? Wu paced through these ideas in his mind again and again, getting more and more excited by the moment. After all, he hadn’t really had a chance to use his powers to fight anyone yet, something he had been looking forward to greatly on his trip to the Academy. Looking over at the teacher, he smiled happily. "Excuse me miss, do you happen to know what that was? If something happened so close by, would we not be able to help?" He had been practicing speaking this foreign language to the best of his ability, but the result made him sound ridiculously over polite.

It is—although arbitrary and spread out on many different contexts—most of the time a truth. Oberon disliked how it was. He thirsted for some decency in this classroom, and it became even more apparent as these days just seemingly come right after the other. Truth be told, he grew tired of the daily grind a long time ago. But given that it’s not that easy to turn back to his past life and that this actual career was more stable than any other, he couldn’t leave the academy just yet.

It was the middle of the week, and it meant a time when he bombarded assignments the day before and dumped seatworks in an unrelenting cadence. Today was another academic peak day—as dubbed by his students. He’d always envisioned excellence and aimed high for them, that’s why. And yet, when Fridays or even Thursdays were supposedly allocated for cutting the students some slack, it was no less merciful than today. Perhaps they’d even be thankful for the first and second days of the week since Oberon usually just gave lectures on those days. Probably the only silver lining to his teaching strategy was that he gave them total freedom on weekends, but save for the track team.

“Keep up the good work and next time pass by the back door when you leave,” came Oberon’s reply to Kaiden. However, the plain expression currently plastered on his face was in fact defiance to the most recent event. He ignored the explosion as if it was only a simple fluctuation with the lights, as if it was only the effect of low voltage. He had been through worse, he told himself, and that this class doesn’t owe any concern to what’s happening outside right now. “We’re currently busy.”

Meanwhile, a large CHAPTER QUIZ ON FRIDAY was written on the board behind Oberon. He was focused on scribbling something on his desk, but not when he periodically looked up from his paper to check on the students.

To reiterate, humans are naturally insatiable… Nothing shy of perpetual greed and insecurities that indefinitely amounts to an otherwise grave discontentment. The teacher had noticed one student looking out the window. Clearly the kid looked worried, his thoughts most likely related to the noises from outside. However Oberon couldn’t simply tolerate that. It was wrong. But more importantly, they had a seatwork going on—a big deal in its own respect.

“Just what are you doing, Mr. (Surname)? Do you want to play outside?” he said in a pseudo-animated tone. Oberon kept a straight face and raised a crumpled piece of paper in his hand. The boy simply answered with a whimper, lest he was expecting an all-out punishment by spilling a careless response. “Please don’t get distracted and get back to what you’re doing. Remember that seatworks and class participation makes up for sixty percent of your grade here in Chemistry.”

Surely by now, everyone would have assumed the teacher would “flip his s**t out,” but he hadn’t… not yet though. Somehow he had kept his cool. Oberon lowered his arm and returned to his preoccupation. He took out his phone, the light bouncing off his glasses as he’d swiped and tapped on the smart screen.
                                                                            tab TO: perple.pernguern

The morning had started of pretty normal for Takami. Checking emails, answering the morning phone calls from at least seven different countries. He had his breakfast, which was a simple package of military rations. He was too used to them and didn’t like to cook. Nor did he like to go to the mess hall for it. Then it was to class. Everything there seemed to be rather normal as every other day. Not too many issues, or really none. It’d been long enough from the start of the school year that his group of kids had learned not to be delinquents. But, from experience, there were always those few.

As usual, Takami did his best to make the class more enjoyable. He was an animated man as it was, and his students seemed to be just as lively.Well, for the most part. Academics weren’t really the highlight of Takami’s day, but he knew it was important. Knowledge was sometimes the better weapon in life rather than physical means.

At the time of the random alert, Takami didn’t even flinch from the sounds of alarms. It would take a lot more than that to get to him. He simply smiled, not even breaking from his lecture when the original alarm went off in the city. Though, he did go quiet when the schools alert system sounded, and sent the school on lockdown. He glanced over his students, still holding his beeker in hand as he was formerly teaching his students about different chemical reactions. Sure, he’s probably taught these kids better than bomb experts... but you never know what you might need. Besides, explosions were fun. His gaze shifted in the direction of just that sound as he heard it rumble. Well, it seemed whoever was making trouble in the city happened to be getting angsty. The adventurous part of Takami wanted to go have a look. That soldier in him would probably never be completely tamed. However, he had responsibilities here. If he was needed, he’d be called upon.

Well, I guess now would be a bad time to make this an outside project, mm? That’s a pity.” He sighed and set the beaker aside, slowly and carefully separating the chemicals as to not have their own exploding problem. “Although, I can tell you a little more information as to where that certain explosion came from.” He added, wanting to keep their attention at him, and not those desires to go and investigate. “I’m quite sure that was some manner of hydro-based explosive. Water can actually be a catalyst with certain other chemicals. Reason why I say hy--” He went on to explain his theory, and how the sound and echo of the explosion was sourced from whatever chemicals reacted.

He soon trailed off as he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. Who could that be, he was sure everyone who had his personal number knew he was busy with teaching at the moment. And his work phone was shut off. With a hum, he leaned back against the desk and looked over his screen, then smirked a little. Of course he’d say that.

Takami smirked a little and looked back to the class. He was pretty sure they wouldn’t stay good for too long. And Takami was itching to go see too. He could be such a bad influence sometimes.

HMMM.” A small, mischievous grin pulled at his lips. “Who wants to learn the ways of covert ops?” Meaning, Takami wanted to sneak them to a place where they could get a glance at what was happening. Bad Takami. Bad.

How could they possibly expect him to stay still? He was already feeling drowsy due to his lack of sleep. Ryuuji had spent most of the night combat training, punching away at air and exercising his jabs and hooks. He could barely keep his eyes open in the beginning of class, which was very unlike himself. Ryuuji was the one that was unnecessarily fired up, like a ticking time bomb and nobody knew when he was going to go off. How could the giant flame ball be sleepy? He should've organized his training session and his sleeping schedule. His fist was pressed against his cheek while his elbow supported his arm, his head would slowly tilt forward and then tilt back, his eyes closing and then opening repeatedly.

That all changed when the alert sounded off.

He jumped. Ryuuji nearly smacked his head down on the desk, saving himself a few inches away from the pain and the embarrassment and immediately looked around the classroom, his glasses surprisingly intact instead of sliding off his face from the quick movements. What was going on? Why was the alarm going off? Was something terrible happening? He was awake now and it because he was worried. Just what was going on? When the explosion occurred that's when his spirit really was embroiled. He couldn't just sit here. Something was going on outside. How could the school not want the students to speculate or find out what was going on?

Trying to be a good student by listening to the rules, he had sat up straight despite his hands clenching into tight fists, the knuckles nearly turning white. His eyes were squint as he looked at his teacher, who was trying to continue class without showing much interest of what was going on outside. At least he was pretending not to be interested and acting as if this was just a normal, every day occurrence. "What the hell is going on..." muttered Ryuuji, trying his best not to run over to the window and look for the source of the explosion. He couldn't possibly sit still. He just couldn't, he was itching to move. Ryuuji was truly becoming antsy.

When Mr. Akaiyu brought up the explosion, Ryuuji's eyes lit up and focused heavily on the man. He was surely disappointed when it was just an explanation about the explosion and not exactly why it could've went off. The information was useful, a knowledge that should be known but that did not sedate Ryuuji's curiosity in the slightest. Curling and uncurling his fingers, the boy tried to distract himself with things. He tried to look at the clock, which seemed to be going agonizingly slow and so he looked away from that. He looked around at the rest of his peers, which he stopped because then he felt he would've been too odd staring at everyone and making them uncomfortable.

The teacher was too busy distracted while Ryuuji was ready to stab his pen into his notebook out of his mind that was racing with questions of what was going on. His whole body was trembling, a drop of sweat going down his face as he had tried his hardest to control himself. He was going to lose his mind if he sat in his chair any longer. Hell, Ryuuji was ready to jump out of that damn window. He remembered how he would've gotten berated by everyone who cared about him and he didn't want that, but act first and think later was becoming more and more desirable.

His ears perked up when the teacher said who wanted to learn the ways of cover ops. Ryuuji's eyes had lightened up once again, his lips parted in a state of shock. Was their teacher going to let them get a clue of what was going on outside? Ryuuji had immediately stood, "Akaiyu-sensei, please teach us the ways of covert ops. If anyone else is too cowardly, I'll do it on my own!" His spirit was truly fired up, he could feel his skin heating up due to his body temperature rising from how excited he was.

OUR FIXATION CAME FROM OUR ABNORMAL CREATION. . .

Though slightly disoriented, Diomara managed to hold up in class well enough, paying attention to the lesson and taking notes in shorthand as his professor spoke. There were a few instances where he'd found himself going off on a daze━ a relatively uncommon thing for him to do, only he was exhausted and had gotten much too little sleep last night due to his revisions to successfully last him through the day with his usual reasonable alertness.

                                                  Still.

Adjusting his glasses (Sail had gotten it into his head that Dio was probably myopic or something after a few misspellings in his last letter━ which he was right about, much to his son's chagrin) the fair-haired teen scribbled down a few more notes yet again, the ink scritching lightly on the paper before it dried, forming the characters that recorded even more material to go over once their owner was in their rooms. Sometimes, the Cohen absently mulled, it really did get on his nerves, just how much of a perfectionist he was. It was almost a compulsion, do better, even better━ and as a result, it often cut into the precious few hours he had to recompose himself and lay down his person to rest before it was yet another day of pushing himself to strive harder. He couldn't say it wasn't worth it, because it was, but there were a few occasions Diomara had simply lain in bed, having just pulled the covers over him and stared up at the ceiling, trying to get in at least half an hour's worth of sleep before he had to wake up all over again and start getting ready. It almost didn't seem worth it, he'd contemplate dazedly in the shower, the first few moments of the shock from the cold water and the severe lack of sleep getting to him and disorienting his senses for a few seconds. It felt like waking up just after he'd closed his eyes. So irritating. He was abruptly pulled away from multi-tasking his musings and listening to the lecture by the explosion, the force of it slightly rattling the fixtures in their room as they all jolted slightly from the surprise.

Turning his gaze in the direction it came from, Diomara tensed, his foot straightening out under the table on instinct, getting ready for conflict without his conscious approval. Pen stilled from tapping against his lips while Akaiyu-sensei had been talking, grey eyes dragged away from the window for a moment, flickering over to their teacher. It wasn't too hard to take his attention off the commotion for a little while since Dio had never really that bothered about a lot of things, but there was still, always still, that little niggle of curiosity wriggling at the back of his mind. What was that? An explosion, honestly, and CHEIRA had been activated━ alright, so he and Yuki had caused their own fair share of explosions one way or another, but perhaps nothing of that magnitude. It was worrying. The school was on lockdown. It definitely piqued his ever-present curiosity, made him desperately want to know what exactly was going on, but there were rules and despite his often excessive desire to just know, he was still too much of a goody to try to get a look, no matter how much his inner was protesting.

Despite it all, he was still tense. The Cohen briefly directed his attention back to the professor up front when he'd began to speak, sharing the details about the explosion and the speculations on it━ though they were less speculation than fact, as he was quickly becoming to realize as the words went on. T'was a ploy, of course, though a sort of half-arsed one on their sensei's behalf, to keep their attention into the class and discourage the more adventurous urges in some of his classmates to just up and run and figure out what that was. Curious, so curious, indeed. The albino went back and ran through his notes, mentally reciting and expanding the shorthand on the pages of his notebook to keep his mind off things when the sound of something small from up front caught his peaky attention.

It took a few messages on their educator's front and subtle shifts in his expression before Dio tensed again.

That kind of tone was never really anything good━ though the term 'good' was quite subjective, wasn't it? As it turned out, he wasn't too off with his little hunch when the next words that came out of their professor's mouth registered with him.

“Who wants to learn the ways of covert ops?”

                                                  Oh, dear.

"Sensei," Dio frowned, tone slightly admonishing━ and more scandalized and hopeful than he'd really liked, to be honest━ placing down his pencil on the desk, though his hands betrayed his expression as he began neatly putting away his things into a small, compact pile that would make for easy shoving into his satchel should what Akaiyu-sensei had planned carry through. Not that he would actually be doing much complaining (except, perhaps, for his customary, half-hearted attempts when something this interesting popped up, just to keep up with his moralistic, ethical, whatever, views) but, well, teacher, which should really have explained everything currently not very teacherly about it. The agreeing outburst from his classmate━ Ryuuji Akiyama, perhaps simply a passing acquaintance at best, since they'd never actually interacted much, have they?━ naturally drew the teen's eyes over to him for a few seconds before it went back to the front, one warmer-than-usual hand dragging through his hair as he contemplated the whole thing with a light frown and an almost pout.

Oh, honestly, what was he to do?

                                                  Dilemmas.

Focusing was an extremely hard thing to do for Black Baraniq. He could never sit still and his mind constantly was everywhere. Especially in times like these. With his head down on his desk, his knee bounced uncontrollably. He gave a small whine and a sigh as he tried to keep his thoughts on Akaiyu-sensei’s lecture. What was he even talking about? Man Black was hungry...When was lunch time? Why was lunch time so far away?! Black silently sobbed to himself as he longed for the lunch period. He barely even rose his head when the alarm had set off. “Hnnnnnng….Lunch bell?” He mumbled to himself, waking out of his random stupor. But then he realized that it wasn’t a bell-like alarm at all. It was something more serious.

He blinked away his hunger pains and slowly rose his head to look around the classroom. He could see lots of curious and even nervous eyes. He couldn’t help but wonder what was going on on the outside. He looked to the nearest window and simply stared, leg bouncing a little faster now. He brought up his hands and started to drum his fingertips against his desk.

And then there was an explosion.

Black’s expression grew more curious. Why was there explosions? What was going on outside? Was there an alien invasion? Zombie apocalypse? Black knew the day would come, but...so soon?! He turned to look at the rest of the class, then back to Akaiyu-sensei. His interest piqued when sensei started to talk about explosions. But then he let out a small yet audible whine continued teaching. He didn’t want to learn about water explosions unless it was part of the new downloadable content in the game Guns&Explosions. He wanted to go outside and see what was going on. He wanted to kill those zombies! Bl

He almost put his head back down again before Akaiyu-sensei spoke the most heavenly words he’d heard all week. Black instantly raised his hand before the man could finish his thought. He waved his arm around in teh air, trying to catch Akaiyu’s attention. “Oh oh oh oh oh ohohohohohohohoh! Me! Me! Pick--” But then Ryuuji spoke up. Black paused and stared at the boy for a long moment before flailing his arms in the air.

“OHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOH OH! AKAIYU-SENSEI! PICK ME!” He stood up, unable to contain his own energy and started to point at himself. “This guy! Right here!” He started to flex, though with his turquoise hoodie hid his flexing muscles. He finally just slammed his hands on his desk, prepared to say more by opening his mouth, but paused. He looked around the room to see a few people staring at him now. His hyperactive antics were still somewhat new, to some people but others had already grown accustomed to it. He slowly started to sit down, a light blush covering his face while he smiled ear to ear. He rubbed the back of his head and settled into his seat. He let out a nervous laugh and the placed his head down on the desk.

Beware The Bear's Husband

Another day of this mild and incredibly boring school. Natalia was used to an entirely different lifestyle, and no matter how long she’d been going to this academy, she couldn’t help to feel like it was never enough. It was quiet--sometimes. That was one of the few good points. And then there were those idiot students who all wanted to be friends with everyone, build ridiculous relationships with different people. What point was there to that. People pass by and move on too quickly. Natalia would rather just get this place over with and move on. Not make friends who in the end would probably never matter ten years from now.

Of course, Natalia was a hypocrite. Her roommate, Rozalina, was one of Natalia’s best friends. As it were, the two of them were close to the point that they shared a bed. The extra bunk in the room was set up with a T.V. on it so the two of them could lay back and watch Rozalina’s novelas. Which, of course, last nights episodes had brought Natalia to her current position. Natalia had a knack for “ruining” all of the novelas. Somehow, she could always figure out the mystery of the Drama, and she’d always let Rozalina in on it. Which leads to why Natalia was now ditching class and with Rozalina in the cafeteria. Last night, Natalia had called out that Consuela, the maid of the Don in Rozalina’s favorite show, was going to be the mastermind and take over the famiglia. Suffice it to say, the red-headed girl was not at all happy that Natalia would say that. So, she guilted her into going to the cafeteria instead of class.

At the moment, Natalia was sitting on a countertop, watching Roza cook away. She was to be the taste tester. For some reason, Rozalina was all over the place, cooking many different things. Every so often, she’d bring Natalia something to try. However, there was one thing that Natalia wanted to know, and was now finally awake enough to gather this thought.

So... what or who are you cooking all of this s**t for, anyways?” She asked, leaning back onto her hands and crossing a leg over the other.

Rozalina’s reaction made Natalia’s eyes narrow. The girl seemed to have hesitated, locking up and stiffening over the current bowl of mixed fruit. Curious indeed. Unfortunately for Natalia’s curiosity, the events of the day made a great scapegoat for Roza not to have to answer. First, there were the sirens. Then there was CHEIRA. Well, they picked a prime ******** day to decide to ditch class. The repercussions of this were going to be bothersome. Not that she’d figured the Rank A teacher would actually do anything. The man was as lazy as a persian rug. However, there was the rank C teacher. Mr. Lawson... (while we’re at it, what the bloody ******** kind of name is Justice Lawson... Sounds like a comic book character or something). He was rather... different from what Natalia could tell. As well as Rozalina’s instructor. She was sure if they were caught together, they’d be punished together. Again... bothersome.

And then... there was Kaiden. He was part of the disciplinary committee. Which meant, he’d probably be set on patrols like the announcement had instructed. This could easily be good or bad. Either Kaiden was going to cling to Natalia somehow and further ruin her day, which would be the bad scenario. Good case? Natalia would manipulate the situation so he could cover for them. That would probably mean a trade or something annoying, or maybe Natalia could just randomly make out with him and he’d shut the hell up. She’d have to think on that one again.

Just as the explosion sounded, Natalia hopped off the counter and walked to stand next to Rozalina. “I think it’s time that you wrap this up.” Natalia more ordered than requested. “I’d rather not have to deal with the bullshit that will come with getting caught. So, we can sneak back to our room, I’ll fake being incredibly sick and you can be ‘taking care of me Or... I dont know. I’ll think about plan b while we’re trying out plan a.

Without a word of opinion from Rozalina, Natalia started helping her clean up the kitchen they were using, taking bites of food that were left over from everything. Today was going to be a bloody ********, and Natalia was not at all excited. If only that explosion was actually the academy blowing to bits. That thought actually brought a smile (more like a sideways grin) to Natalia’s face.

The darkened skies served as the perfect harbinger for the chaos that would quickly ensue within the ever restless city. The shouting between the two crowds ranged from religious, to defensive, to just pure hatred, and within a matter of time the first stone was cast and the sea of people began to run red and black. The rumbling thunder did not hold a candle to the explosions, slurs, and screams produced by the people involved, and would continue as the fights dragged on. At least three people had died by now, a common occurrence in such a densely populated area, but not a single soul would mourn them until the mob was a practically a mass grave for the misguided. Such bloodshed and hatred was nothing new, it seemed to be just another year of confusion and violence for the people of the world, the only difference this time was that the headmaster was not keeping the students safe from the horrors that lie just beyond the school gates. A tumultuous time at the school, maybe this would be the year it would finally fall, much to the delight of many anti-psychics and legislators.

From the west, the figure dressed in a black hooded field jacket bearing a bag arrived out of a bullet train station and walked directly into the heart of the city, where the riots were. The face was obscured by a protective mask that only revealed the man's piercing red irises, as he walked down the sidewalk with his hands in his jacket pockets. The air was thick with smoke and dust, the sounds were growing louder, but not a single flinch or shift in direction was made by the man in black as he continued to make his journey down the street. It was almost as if he existed outside of time and space, wandering across like an angel of death, collecting the lives of those lost in the riot. As the worn boot stepped in a fresh puddle of warm blood at the edge of the crowd of flesh and steel, several people turned their attention to the seemingly unsuspecting drifter. In an instant, three men and four women with weapons both improvised and expertly crafted rushed the tired man swinging wildly at him.

A quick flash of red came from the eyes of the hooded figure, for whom time had practically stopped. In this instant, many arrows, words, and projections of a ghostly figure performing multitude of actions were processed in his mind. Before the moment of impact, the man had side-stepped out of the circle of imminent injury as the people crashed into each other, hitting, stabbing and tripping over themselves, while he continued his stroll through the crowd. An incoming punch was headed his way from exactly 127 degrees in his field of vision, which proved no use as he dodged, grabbed the wrist of his attacker, and pulled him to the ground by pressing his palm against his shoulder. With this, the masked man stepped onto the back of the downed man and kicked off, rendering him airborne, then began skipping across the heads and backs of the people in the dense crowd until finally reaching the opposite end of it. '...troublesome...'

Once out of the crowd, he continued to walk the half block up to the tightly locked gates of the school, which he faced with a calm demeanor, removing his finger-less work gloves and pressing his bare palm against the pattern scanner. He leaned in to the optical scanner which generated a thin beam of light which ran back and forth across the man's dead eyes, until finally the gates opened, letting him pass through before closing behind him. It was as if the hands of time turned backwards as he turned his head to view the familiar setting, walking through the courtyard and into the dormitory building in the South Wing, taking the elevator straight to the gleaming white corridor which lead to the headmaster suite. The inky shadow stepped towards the door, leaving bright red bloodstains on the floor of the hall as he entered the room, tossing the rucksack on the floor and sat in the nearby chair, letting out a somber sigh. It felt like ages since he had last sat down or had even drawn a breath that lasted longer than a half of a second, but this moment would not last.

He rose from the chair, removing his face mask and placing it on the desk, then removed his hood, revealing white hair in contrast to the black clothing, which he had promptly removed. Isaac Matsuo, the missing headmaster, had finally come back, and by the looks of things, had an incredibly rough year since he had yet to speak to anyone on the campus, or even send a text message to any of the staff members. Everything he had done so far had been in complete silence, and would continue to be until he saw a certain someone who was incredibly important to him beyond any human comprehension. Moving to his closet, it had been been kept in pristine condition, everything was in place, the jackets, coats, pants, shirts, shoes, all perfectly aligned and organized, such is the duty of a headmaster. With a blank expression, he had quickly clothed himself with a pair of slim fit black pants, a black blazer, white collared shirt, and a pair of black chucks, and took a last look around his room, before heading back outside and towards the S-Rank classroom from across the campus.

He absolutely had to see Rhea, even if it's interrupting productivity and the enrichment of these psychic children, but he was making an executive decision to do this instead of seeing Gly whom he had also missed. If his memory was correct and the school had not fallen into complete disarray and insanity, it was currently science class and he was in front of the Class S room within two minutes of walking into the building, and then took a deep breath. The air was still while the explosions still sounded off in the distance, and all of the emotional weight seemed to be suffocating him, but he had to walk inside. What were they going to think once he arrived? How would he make it up to his adopted daughter for leaving her for an entire year?! These questions would only be answered once he stepped through the door frame and into the classroom. Taking a moment, Isaac had observed himself, absorbing every detail of himself and his surroundings, making sure that before he opened this door, he looked FRESH TO DEATH just for his students. His hand touched the knob, turning and pushing, then stepping inside with a small and tired smile, looking around the room and towards Rhealla. It had been far too long.

"Good morning students and Kayami, it's been a little while, now if you don't mind..." he paused and walked over to Rhea, oh so very casually picked her up and hugged her tightly, spinning her as well until setting her down gently. "You've got no idea how long I wanted to do that! NOW STUDENTS! It has come to my attention that there's a riot happening, we will follow lock down procedure as per usual, and I'll be sure to throw a celebration for you all since I've kept you waiting aaaaand I'm really glad to be back~!" Come to think of it, he should have made that an announcement, but saying it to a class was easier since he was already there and didn't feel like walking down the hall to make it. Though he does have to make sure that his Vice Principle has been keeping things together, the library was still standing, and if Oberon was still being a good teacher like he always was. "...but in all seriousness if you just so happen to NOT follow lock down procedures, don't go outside the walls, oh and Ms. Akemi, please excuse Rhealla for a professional father-daughter meeting, scheduled for right now." He seemed practically the same, almost as if he had never left, but of course there have been some minor changes to his being, none too noticeable, like the fact he had slightly longer fingernails than when he left.

Kayami's groaned inwardly as her butt hit the floor of her classroom. She had fallen off the desk when the explosion had gone off and of course Rhealla had taken that opportunity to try and look at what was going on. Kayami was obligated to stop her, to turn around and make sure her student was back in her seat so they could sit around and do ******** all while explosions were going on outside. She grumbled gently, her cheeks puffing out as she pawed idly at Rhealla's desk. She had her lion kigurumi today, so being a coward today was pissing her off more than it usually did. She walked over to her computer and checked it to see if any of her fellow teachers had messaged her, but alas they had not.

Kayami's eyes roved over her other students carefully, watching their expressions as they fell into a more natural state. Usually, she would like a bit of panic and would gladly try to cause more, but today was different. In fact, that past few weeks had been different. She climbed onto her desk with a sigh and looked down at her students. It was a bad habit of hers, but one she didn't believe really needed breaking. It not only helped her to get a more complete picture of her classroom, but she liked to think it made her look a little more intimidating. Height was intimidating, right? Of course it was. Besides, she might even be able to get a glimpse of what was going on outside if she was lucky.

Her attention was drawn from the window when one of her students spoke up, a boy named Wu that Kayami found really rather weird. Honestly, all of her students were weird. You don't become S-rank without a little bit of weird in your life and that was a fact. Her cheeks puffed up again and she narrowed her eyes at Wu. "Smart a**." She muttered. He was right though.... If anyone in this school could help the situation outside, it would be the teachers and the S-rank students, maybe even the A-ranks. Damn it, why couldn't she just listen to the rules?! 'Kouko would probably be a better teacher than I am. s**t.'

"You're right though." ********, no she wasn't supposed to say that. She was supposed to be following protocol, not encouraging her students to break protocol! Maybe she could salvage this somehow.... "We're not allowed to leave the room... but if one of you wanted to exercise your ability by using your abilities outside of this window.... Well then, I guess that wouldn't exactly break protocol." Oops. Bad Kayami, that is a breech of protocol. Bad. She would have to get someone to spritz her with water or something after this was over.

Just before she was about to go to the window and 'not exactly break protocol' herself, the door to her classroom opened. For a split second, she was the lion protecting her cubs. Her teeth turned sharp, her pupils became slitted, and her nails elongated. She was about to pounce when....

"Good morning students and Kayami, it's been a little while...."

"You're ******** kidding me." Kayami said, her appearance going back to normal as she blinked in disbelief. "Isaac?! What the shi-" Her speech was cut short as Isaac picked up Rhealla and hugged her. Kayami felt a slight sting in her heart, both good and bad, when she saw the look on Rhealla's face. The girl never really showed emotions to anyone, but Isaac was the exception. Her eyes were wide and filled with tears and she seemed to cling to Isaac as if she almost didn't believe he was there. She still looked so tired.... Kayami felt a slight tinge of frustration course through her veins. How could Isaac have done that to this poor girl?! 'He better have a damn good explanation for why he just left without a word.'

This anger dissipated when Isaac continued talking. He really hadn't changed a bit... it made the school feel a bit more normal now. The headmaster's request would not be refused, of course, and Kayami smiled and nodded. The expression on Rhealla's face was killing her, but she did her best not to show it. "You're excused Rhealla. And Isaac," She pointed her finger at him, "the celebration should be a pajama party." She smiled again and then gestured for him and Rhealla to leave with a "Now get out of my classroom, I'm trying to teach the kids a lesson in how to use their abilities." With that, she gave a mischievous wink to Wu and started towards the window once more, but first.... She paused and walked over to her computer, typing a quick message before she went to the window once again.

                                                                            tab tab TO: perple.pernguern

Something had been off from the moment Justice woke up. He felt odd. His emotions weren’t his own. This solemn feeling was definitely not something he was used to feeling. Maybe it was the lack of warmth in his bed. Maybe it was that lingering feeling of emptiness and loneliness. He’d spent his morning dragging his feet, preparing himself for the school day while trying to bring a smile to his face. He’d looked at his weary expression in the mirror and simply sighed as he placed his tinted glasses on. He tried on a smile and then adjusted his clothes before nodding. It was the best he could do for now…

The early morning seemed pretty slow. He waited for his students to enter the classroom, and had noted that one particular redhead was missing. Which only meant that one particular brunette from Mr. Cain’s class would be missing as well. He’s have to speak with said redhead and said brunette later on. And that would not be a happy experience for any of them. Though, with that thought in mind, he gave his class a wry grin.

The day went on to science class, and Justice clapped his hands together. “It seems that I’m missing a rozabud for my plant biology example.” He started and placed two fingertips to his forehead and started to shake his head like he was ashamed of ‘forgetting’ his ‘teaching instruments’. “So instead, we’ll start another project!” He gave his class a bright smile and rubbed his hands together. That right there, was a very bad sign. You never want to see Justice smile and rub his hands together. When you do, you know that something terribly terribly bad was on its way. And form of nervousness from his class was quite visible by the pastel bubbles that started to appear out of thin air. His bright demeanor turned dark yet held a smile as he tilted his head toward ever so slightly.

“Physics. We’re going to learn physics. The laws of motion and gravity.”

Justice had the students move the desks to the center of the room and stand in a line. He gave them each the most heaviest book of scientific terms the school had and then told them to run around the classroom until class was over. Yes, this was their punishment. Thank Roza for it later. However, it was only fifteen minutes or so in class before an alarm went off. Justice sighed and looked toward the door, waiting for someone to make any form of signal to him. But no. There he was, standing on a tower of desks with his arms crossed, watching as his students studied oh-so-diligently. He looked down to the lot and then hopped down off the desks.

“Everyone feeling alright?” He asked with a cheerful smile. Just because an alarm went off and then an explosion...didn’t mean he’d let his children off the hook. “Keep going! If anyone stops, it’ll be two five-page essays due Thursday.” His voice somewhat trailed off as he went to his own desk and rummaged through the drawer for his cellphone. No messages. Well fine, he saw how it was. He started to send messages out.

All in All, Glykeria would have liked in better if the responsibility was placed in someone else's hands. Although this was the job of the vice-principal, she was able to sleep all day when the principal was here. However, when unknown vacation pop up she actually had to get up and do her job. Perhaps this was good for her; being cooped up in her room filled with several plants would get boring, right? ..As If she disclaimed, being surrounded by plants just waiting for her undivided attention as she slept was a dream come true, and to get paid for it as well, what more could she ask for? Nevertheless once Isaac left she was put in to charge without having time to protest, she was in charge of the academy and its inhabitants. Her first task was to roam the hallways, although this doesn't sound like a lot, which was exactly the point. Her eyes examined the clipboard, repeatedly flipping though it. A checklist of how the hallways were supposed to look, including the plants decorated that had to be feed.

Strolling down the hallways, her eyes did not tear away from the clipboard, reminding herself that the quicker they got this done; she would have an early ticket to dreamland once again. Her right hand rose away from the clipboard, as she glanced at her first assignment. See if the hallways were in order, which surprisingly it was. Nothing, expect for the much anticipated flowers that bobbed its head back and forth for acknowledgement. Floribunda Roses to be exact; she didn't know if they were more excited to see her or to finally having lunch. It was an unusual sight to see the flowers in such excitement, which her abilities all the plants wanted ever wanted to do, was to be acknowledged and created into something new. She realized an abundance of flowers yearn to be picked and created into something new by her. She was like Saint Nick among the plant-life, whispering to her what they wanted to be in life and her duty was to fulfill that dream. Although she didn't have a productive schedule like the Christmas mascot, so the only present the plants received was a small growth spurt. Nothing big to destroy or mutate the plant's original state, but enough to have it create a perfect bloom.

Proceeding towards the vase of roses, she smiled sheepishly caressing its pink petals. Her eyes focused on its petals, as it began to sprout. A bright new coat of pink petals spouted from the plant, its steam widen as leaves skimmed down against the root while the root itself produced thorns with tiny buds awaking from the plant. It took concentration to make a plant actually grow without any flaw. She could have snapped her fingers and allowed the roses grow out in outrageous proportions filling the vase with new steams and flowers, but little mistakes could easily be seen. The buds would begin flowing at the end of the steam; thorns would spout around onto petals, and the leaves would create its own flower. A complete mess, but if Glykeria examined the flower she could control what could grow to its fullest extent; creating a luscious blossom that grew to the vase’s capability. She’d actually begin to enjoy this today; maybe it was because there was no interruptions, no chaos of any sort, just her and her plants. It was like a regular day for her, most of her time was consumed by the plant-life.

                              BOOM

She'd thought to soon. If Glykeria had realized that this would happen; she would have taken an emergency vacation as well. Although she should have this coming, Isaac - out of all the staff in the facility – left, she should have known better. She should have known that waking up on an absurd time to take care of a building; something like this was bound to happen. Glykeria eye's peered at the window, it was all a rush and at such an early time it was ridiculous. Her attention quickly went back towards the roses, who took advantaged of the situation. The flowers grew in outrageous portions, its bud was larger than the stems, its thrones broke free of the concealment, and a new pedestal was created from its entwined roots. A mute sigh escaped her lips as she snapped her fingers halting the growth and moved towards the window to get a better look. She couldn't see to far, but that's where the lovely CHERIA came in hand. The vibration of her phone caught her off guard, A riot… she muttered. Her eyes gazed down the school ground then towards the street. She had never been a situation like this, she couldn't leave the school to get a better look since she was in charge as of now, and she'd rather actually go back to her dorm room and sleep this off like nothing. Regardless she had to do something; fortunately there was a couple of tress surrounding the school, so she didn't have to think that much.

Lifting her finger she began making small circle with her finger, over and over again. She really didn't have a plan, these were just protesters and because she didn't know how built they were, defense was the best option. The trees around the school began to grow and bend, with every circular motion her finger made the trees followed. A small rumble in her pocket distracted her for a motion, keeping her finger at a constant pace; she grabbed her phone with her available hand. She'd had been put into a group message by Justice. Texting with her thumb she decided to add the rest of the staff into the conversation.

[ The Bouquet / all staff members ]

…there's riot going on outside (out of all damn days)
Anyways….umm don't go outside, stay caution of windows ‘construction' is going on.
Please bring yourself and your students to the library so I can explain what exactly is going on.

Forwarding the message, her attention went back towards the window at the chaos she had to deal with. Unfortunately this was her was her problem now, and the biggest she'd ever had to deal with. An irritated scoff left her mouth as she began to make her way towards the library. Uninterruptedly circling her finger making sure each tree is twisted to its fullest and no open gaps visible.
