I raise show chickens. I have much more to fear from the alarmists than the actual flu. When Newcastle's Disease was the problem, they killed every domestic bird within a 1-mile radius from a bird that tested positive. They published no information in Spanish, so the cockfighters didn't know about it and took their clean birds to mains and picked it up from infected birds and brought it home. People with parrots would smuggle their birds out of state to save them from the death squads, and as parrots didn't show signs of the disease, sometimes the bird was indeed infected and would infect a new state. Ugh.
