Is any guild idea too weird, even for gaia?

I want to make a guild for gardening but I am not sure how much interest this would have on here. Most guilds I see are fan/rp/random based and I was wondering if my topic may not be as popular, how do I find the group of people with my same interest?

As for finding people though, you're going to have to get pretty creative. I have no idea
where you'd find those kind of people - but it's possible! Just make sure to advertise
a lot - Chatterbox, sigs, profiles. I'd browse for people in maybe the Lifestyle Discussion
forum, since gardening is a real-life sorta thing. Maybe you could just create a gardening
discussion thread, and once you start getting regulars / see people interested, you could
then invite them to your guild!

I agree that no guild is too weird. What matters is what you enjoy. There is always lots of people who also enjoy the same thing as you. And what better place to find them than here on Gaia?

I'd like to suggest that before you spend 2ok on a new guild (or less if you buy a used one) that you could make a thread in the Gaia Guilds Forums. It could be a great start. And like Chellies says, you can advertise that all over.

Then when things pick up, you can then create a guild. biggrin

I think there might be areas in the regular Gaia forums that would include gardening topics. Maybe a hobbies area?

If you can find it, that is a good place to start recruiting. Also, maybe a Gaia search (menu-hover over forums-search) for gardening keywords? Then you can find threads about it with people to invite.

I wouldn't mind a gardening guild :3 Although it probably won't be a very active guild. . . .
