The Party Animal
╚══════..═╝

Effy woke up to the smell of alcohol, smoke, and cheap perfume. There was even a faint hint of vomit. She blinked her icy blue eyes open and studied the room she was in. She noticed that she was sprawled out on a bed. Along with three other unknown people. A normal person would be freaked out. But this was something Effy was used to. This obviously wasn't her apartment, but she knew whose it was. Along with the strangers on the bed, there were also numerous amount of people passed out all over the floor. Letting out a soft yawn, Effy pulled herself off the bed and ran a hand through her messy chocolate brown hair.

It was hard to weave her way through the sleeping strangers without stepping on someone. Luckily, she wasn't wearing shoes so it wouldn't hurt the person too much. Not that she really cared anyway. It was their fault for passing out on the floor anyway. Effy was just lucky enough to claim the bed. Although it was lumpy and uncomfortable, it was better than the floor. That was for sure.

Some people had gotten up and left, while others lay asleep. She smirked slightly as she looked around. She remembered all of them from the night before. Although she didn't bother to learn their names. She beamed as she spotted her favorite girl from the night. She was the youngest there. Only 18. Yet she could down anything better than anyone in the entire room. It was amusing to watch her.

And then there was the boy she'd dubbed 'Dancing Guy'. He had the craziest moves. Also very amusing. Effy yawned and walked into the tiny bathroom. It wasn't until she entered the room that she felt the pounding inside her head. She clutched her forehead and let out a tiny groan. Hangovers were the worst. And they were something that she could never get used to.

There were even people in the bathroom. The most noticeable being the poor man who fell asleep on the toilet. It wasn't a pretty sight, but it was one that caused a bitter chuckle from Effy. Again, she yawned. Even though she wasn't that tired. Despite the five or so hours she'd been asleep. She quickly stripped of the clothes she was wearing and stepped into the shower. As long as she was here, she was going to take advantage of the hot water.

Effy stepped out of the shower shortly after and dried herself, putting the clothes back on. If her make up wasn't smudged before, it was now. It hadn't completely washed off, and left black lines down her face. But she would probably end up taking another showed once she got home anyway. She grabbed a blow drier that was plugged in, and turned it on. It was loud, but no one seemed to wake up. They only stirred in their sleep. Once she was done, her hair sat in loose waves over her shoulders.

Even though she didn't look her best, she was ready to leave. She walked back through the maze of people, but stopped as she spotted something on an end table. A half empty bottle of vodka and a nearly full pack of cigarettes. Effy smirked, and took a swig of the alcohol, making a face as the burning liquid slid down her throat. She grabbed the pack of cigarettes. She'd be keeping those... She lit one up, and placed it in between her lips. She took a puff and left the building, starting on her long trek home, unaware of the time.

Ms Super Strength
╚══════..═╝

Liliya was an early riser. She liked to get up early and watch life outside. Hearing the sounds of nature made her smile. The birds chirping, dogs barking. It was actually quite relaxing. It made her think of the better things in life. And although her life wasn't bad, she knew other people had better than her. But a lot more people had it worse. She just missed her family. Her Mom, Dad, and her older brother Mikhail. He would be 19 now. The girl sighed and pulled herself out of bed. She wondered how they looked now. Mikhail was probably tall. She herself was 5'10'', so he must be at least 6'4''. Her Mother was about 6 feet, and her Dad was almost 7. So she still probably had a bit of growing to go. Which didn't really help her self-esteem issues. She wasn't complaining about her power, but sometimes she felt manly. Being the strongest person in the house was a bragging right, but she wasn't that kind of person.

Liliya, although more commonly know as Lily, seeing as she wasn't in Russia anymore, walked over to the window, which faced the foot of her bed. She peered outside, smiling as the sunlight shone in and onto her face. She ran a hand through her hair. She wasn't exactly sure which colour it was. Some people called it strawberry blonde, where as other insisted it was red. Either or, she didn't mind. She's always wanted blonde hair anyway. And brown eyes. She'd always dreamed of having brown eyes. The only two things that she didn't get from her mother. Instead she got the hair and eyes from her father. It was a shame, really. But she figured she looked this way for a reason. She wasn't keen on the whole religion thing as much as her parents were, but she did believe you were placed on Earth for a reason. And she'd been trying to figure out that reason for most of her life.

Finally getting enough of the chirping birds and clear skies, Lily walked over to her bathroom where she stripped off her pajamas and ran the water for a hot shower. She liked long showers. She usually stood in there until the water started to get cold. But she felt bad afterwards for the others who would have to wait before they could bathe in any way. Today though, she just kept it short and thorough, making sure she was properly cleaned. Once she got out, she wrapped a towel around her body and wiped the mirror of fog to look at her reflection. She plugged in her blow dryer and turned it on, drying her hair thoroughly. Even though it would take longer, she put it on low heat so that it wouldn't be as loud and wake the others up. One it was dry, it sat in loose waves on her shoulders. She walked back into her bedroom, where she dried the rest of her body and hung her towel up. She ambled towards her closet where she searched for clothes. She pulled out a few things and put together an outfit. She did her make up quickly, and left her room.

The teen brushed her teeth before walking down into the kitchen, where she heard the television in the next room over. At least she wasn't the first one up. She figured right away that it was Melany. She was fast after all, right? Although she didn't know why, Lily never really liked the girl. She figured it was because she was slightly jealous after the girl. After all, she was blonde. And not manly in the slightest. In fact there was only one person in the house that she told everyone to, and that was Annabeth. She didn't know why but she just felt that she could trust the English girl more than anyone else. She grabbed a few fruit and cut them, placing them in a bowl for her breakfast. She grabbed a fork and walked into the living room. sitting down on the couch opposite from Melany. "Good morning." she greeted the girl Despite her years of living in America, her accent was still thick. Although she was pretty good at her English by now, there was still some slang she didn't quite understand. And even though she didn't like Melany too much, it didn't mean she wasn't going to be nice to her.

Tabitha was awoken by an annoying song playing on the radio. At first it was a part of her dream. But at least she'd gotten away from the nightmares. She used to have them every night. But now she only had them every once in a while. Tabby had shut off the radio before 'Super Bass' got any further. The last thing she needed to start a day of senior year was Nicki Minaj on the radio. She wasn't exactly excited. But she wasn't sad about it either. One more year and she was out of this dumb. She could move out of this crummy town, and make it big somewhere. There were so many things she wanted to do in life. She wanted to be famous somehow. Either an actress of a model. She felt those were the areas she could actually make it.

Tabby pulled herself out of bed and headed towards her bathroom. There she stripped off her pajamas and examined herself in the mirror. Ever since her best friend died, things had been different. She'd actually contracted an eating disorder in the past while. It was hard to look at the other girls, and the models on magazine covers and not be worried about your image. There was really no need for her to lose weight, but she skipped meals and threw up anyway. She poked her stomach gently. It wasn't that she thought she was fat. It was that she knew she needed to be skinnier. Her magazine addiction wasn't helping her at all. Being popular had changed her. A lot. And not necessarily for the better. The only thing she liked to look at in the mirror was her face. To fix her hair or check her make up. The redhead let out a sigh and moved away from the mirror and instead stepped into the shower.

She came out shortly later and wrapped a towel around her body. She took her blow dryer and thoroughly dried her hair until it sat in loose waves over her shoulders. Tabitha walked back into her room and dropped the towel, before moving to the outfit she'd laid out the night before. She got dressed quickly and fixed her hair before sitting down at her vanity for make up. She didn't usually wear a lot. Only just enough. A little bit of mascara, lip gloss, and eye liner. Once she was done, she popped her lips together and headed downstairs. "Good morning. Would you like some pancakes?" her Mother greeted her instantly. All of her brothers were chowing down like pigs. "No thanks Mom. I'm not really hungry, y'know?" she brushed it off with a shrug. Her Mom gave her a kiss on the forehead and handed her a red apple. "Alright. Take this. Have fun. I love you!" she waved as Tabitha made her way to the door. "Love you too, Mom." she smiled before leaving the house. She examined the apple in her hands and threw it in the garbage can outside her home before beginning her trek to school.

The walk to school wasn't long, and she was there before she knew it. She always dreaded going to school for the sole purpose of her running into her old friends again. She had barely spoken to them since the accident. Maybe is she bumped into them in the hall she'd apologize. But other than that, not much. And every time she saw one of them, and ignored them, it felt like she was ripping her own heart out and shove it back in, only to have it ripped out again. And yet she saw them everyday. She wished she had the courage to waltz up to one and tell them how much she loved and missed them, and how sorry she was. But that would just make a huge mess. Plus, she had other friends now, right? Speaking of which, she'd spotted her friend, Sarah, and walked up to the brunette, starting up a conversation. Tabitha had grown a lot in the past few years. She went from a 5'6'', straight up to 5'10''. As she was talking to Sarah, something caught her eye. She turned her head to see Jonah and someone else. A girl. She looked familiar. Winnie. There went her heart again. She hated herself for not having the courage to talk to her. Still, she couldn't help but turn her attention away from her friend to look at Winnie every once in a while.

Victoria Anne Kats

▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄

Victoria wanted to sleep. She didn't want to get up, and go back to school and teach kids every day. There were a lot of things she hated about being a teacher, but there were a lot more things that she loved. She loved art. She loved teaching people about art, the history of art, artists, different art styles, techniques, everything. She loved to teach art. If she couldn't get her dream job, at least she could help others to. But along with teaching, she liked most of the kids too. She liked to consider herself a cool teacher, since she got along so well with all of her students. But sometimes that wasn't the case. Some of the time she was a little too strict.

The brunette woman, appropriately nicknamed Tori, pulled herself out of bed, rubbing her tired blue eyes. Her hair was up in a bun since she was too lazy to blow dry her hair after her shower from the night before. But looks weren't something that she cared too much about. She usually just wore what she felt like, whether it was appropriate for teaching or not. She stumbled over to her vanity and leaned over the table, looking at herself in the mirror. She smiled softly and turned around. Still in her pajamas, she headed down from her bedroom and into the kitchen where she started to make a pot of coffee. She got out a travel mug and filled it up once the coffee was made.

Tori took a large sip of the coffee, ignoring as the hot liquid burned her throat. Right now all she needed was her coffee. She brought the mug back up to her room where she stripped her pajamas and opened the doors to her closet and dug around for an outfit for the day. Eventually, she decided on an outfit and got dressed quickly. She went over to her vanity again and applied her make up quickly, before pulling her hair out, letting it fall carelessly in waves over her shoulders. She smiled as her reflection quickly before she brushed her teeth. Finally, she filled up her mug again before grabbing her keys.

Once outside, she unlocked the doors to her car and sat down in the driver's seat. She closed the door and locked it before starting the engine. She drove away from her home and towards her workplace. As soon as she got there, she parked in the parking lot and got out of her car. She held her travel mug in one hand, and threw her bag over her shoulder. Letting out a sigh, she locked her car and entered the school. She ambled down the hallways, the only sound that she made was the sound of her heels hitting the hard floor.

Victoria laughed at J.C. and punched his shoulder lightly. "Right. Let's get totally shitfaced." she grinned, turning her head to look at Melody now. "Oh c'mon Mel. Cheer up. I'm sure with a couple of drinks, you'll be more peppy than Avery over there." she smiled, standing up straight again. "Hey Law." she smiled, patting his shoulder. "You riding with me, or them?" she asked, cocking an eyebrow. She figured that he'd go in the Jeep, but she didn't mind. She'd just ride with the others. If they decided to show up.

Tori turned quickly. "Well. If anyone needs me, I'll be in my van." she pointed, walking towards the vehicle. She opened the diver's side door, closed it, and went to start the engine, only to realize that she didn't have the keys. "You've got to be kidding me..." she mumbled. Vicky grabbed her purse and started to dig through it, hoping that her keys were in there. No luck. She got out of the car, and checked the pockets in her cardigan. Not there either...

The brunette let out a sigh and tapped her lip, thinking. She'd check inside first, before tearing up everything she'd spent to long packing away. She ran a hand through her soft waves before entering her house again. She cracked her knuckles and immediately went up the stairs, headed to her brother's room. Although she was embarrassed to admit it, she did have one sibling. A younger brother, by a couple of years. "Ryan!" she shouted as she stomped up the stairs. Once she reached the door to his room, she pulled it open. "Where are my car keys?" she asked, popping her head into the room.

The boy opened his eyes and took his headphones out, propping himself up on one elbow. The siblings were almost identical. Except her brother was a foot taller than her. "Huh?" the boy answered, raising an eyebrow. Victoria rolled her eyes. "Where. Are. My. Car. Keys?" she asked again. "Oh," her brother replied, sitting up. He dug his hand into his pocket and pulled out the keys, tossing them at Tori. She caught them, and held them tight. "I borrowed your car yesterday. Hope you don't mind. Have fun!" he grinned, putting his headphones back in.

Victoria turned around, ran down the stairs, and dashed out the door, slamming it behind her. She held her keys up victoriously and smirked. She carried the jingly keys over to her van, where she got back inside, and closed the door. She unrolled her window and dropped her keys in one of the cup holders. There was no point starting the car now if half of her friends hadn't even arrived yet. Instead, she leaned her head back and sat quietly, going over the plans for the day in her head.

Ⓜⓢ Ⓗⓨⓟⓔⓡ
Jordan Riley Woods

▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄

Jordan woke up early to the sound and feeling of her phone vibrating under her pillow. She groaned and pulled it out, squinting her eyes in the sunlight that broke through her window. She checked why her phone vibrated, and her tired scowl turned into a bright grin. Today's the day! Jordan stumbled out of bed, pulling her covers with her. She ripped them off and let them fall onto the floor as she dashed out of her room. It wasn't news that she still had this much energy so early in the morning. Today was the day. The day she'd be waiting for for what felt like forever. She'd marked it on all off her calenders, and set an alarm for her phone. She was quite a bit more than excited.

The blonde reached the bathroom and stripped off her pajamas before jumping into the shower. She tried to clean herself as quickly as possible. Once she got out, she wrapped a towel around her body, and wrapped another one around her head. She quickly hurried across the wall and back into her room. Everything was ready. Her bags were packed and waiting by the door. She'd been planning this. It wasn't every day you got to go to a cabin with all of your friends! She could barely contain her excitement. She dropped her towel and picked up the outfit she'd picked out earlier. She quickly got dressed and then went back to the bathroom. She brushed and dried her hair quickly, and applied a bit of make up.

Jordan left the bathroom and headed downstairs where her Shannon and Nicole were making breakfast together. "Hey Mom. Bonjour Mama." Jordan greeted her parents with a smile. They both greeted her back. She kissed each of their cheeks before pouring herself a glass of orange juice. "Are you excited?" Shannon asked as she got out some plates and sat them on the table. Nicole filled each plate up with food as Jordan sat down. "Duh." Jordan grinned happily. "I've been waiting for this day for ages!" she squealed as she began to eat quickly. "Not so fast, Chérie." Nicole smiled as she sat down too. "Don't want to get sick." she chuckled. Her accent was still pretty thick, but everyone was used to it by now.

It wasn't long before Jordan has finished her breakfast and put her plate away. She chugged down the rest of her orange juice and cleaned up before running back upstairs. She brushed her teeth quickly and walked back into the kitchen where her parents were finishing cleaning up. "Hey, where's Justin?" she asked curiously. "He got up early this morning and went over to his friend's house." Shannon said as she poured out two mugs of coffee. "Merci mon amour." Nicole smiled as she grabbed a mug and placed a kiss on her wife's cheek.

Jordan let out a sigh and checked the time. "Right. Well I better go or else I'll be late." she grinned. She zipped up her sweater and threw on a jacket. She slipped on her shoes and mittens before fixing her hat over her head. It took her a few trips, but she eventually managed to get all of her bags into her car. The car she'd gotten for her birthday when she turned 16. She wasn't a fan of the car itself, but she loved the colour, which was enough for her. She gotten comfortable, put on her seat belt, and started the engine when she noticed she forgot something. "Crap..." she mumbled as she got out of the car, leaving it running.

The blonde ran back to the front door where Shannon stood, holding out a bag. Jordan smiled and grabbed the bag from her and kissed her cheek again. "Thanks Mom." she grinned. "Bye! Love you both!" she called before leaving and getting back into her car. She put the bag on the passenger's seat and pulled out of the driveway. Inside the bag was various cans of energy drinks. They weren't very healthy, but her parents knew how much she loved them. She cracked one open and took a sip as she waved to her parents in the window. Finally, she was on her way. It was a long drive, but eventually she reached her destination. She got out of her car and hauled all of her bags inside. Instead of carrying them to her room right away, she dropped them. "Excuse me everyone. Your favourite person in the world, Jordan, has arrived!" she called happily, her voice echoing throuh the house.

╔═..══════╗
The Not-So-Innocent Church Girl
╚══════..═╝

Cameron Hunter could remember the fight like it was yesterday. Everything. The events leading up to the fight and the fight itself. But mostly the slam of the door as she left in the middle of the night. It was just a regular day when it happened. As regular as a day at home could get after she'd been 'caught'. It had been eight hours since she'd last spoken a word to her Father, and things were silent and awkward as usual. The family sat around a large rectangular wooden table. Cameron on one end with her Father on the other. And her Mother just sat somewhere in the middle. Awkward silence filled the room, and the only sound was the clinking of metal eating utensils against the glass plates, the occasional slurp or water from a glass, or the random crunch of a raw pea pod. Cameron had been losing her appetite more and more lately. So instead of eating, she just pushed around her food with her fork. Eventually she got sick of the silence, and that was when things got bad.

The only child looked up from her plate to look at her Father. Eye contact was avoided at all costs, but she managed to get his attention. She cleared her throat before speaking. "Uh... Hey Dad?" she started, an eyebrow raised. The older man simply looked up. He didn't say anything. He just looked. Emotionless. Scary. Cameron let out a breath and continued on. "How come... You think I'm going to Hell?" she asked, her voice wavering slightly. But she kept a strong face. The man's jaw clenched. Cam could see that. She could also see his hands tightening around his fork and knife as he started to eat again. 'Because" he said through chews. "You're a homosexual. And homosexuals go to Hell." he said bluntly. As if it was common sense. Everyone knew. Cameron's jaw clenched in exactly the same way. "I'm not a homosexual, Dad. I'm just... confused..." she sized, dropping her fork. "And how does that even mean I'm going to Hell? What about David and Jonathan? Ruth & Naomi? Or even Daniel and Ashpenaz." she stood up now. So fast in fact that her chair fell backwards, landing on the hardwood floor with a thud. "The Bible doesn't say it's wrong, Dad. It all depends on how you interpret it. And if that's what you think, then I think you're pathetic! How am I supposed to call you my Father if you're always judging me? Shouldn't you love me more than your faith or stupid religion?!" she shouted, throwing her arms up in the air. "You know what Dad? she asked, her voice quieter now. "I give up. I'm tired of your bullshit. And I'm tired of her bullshit too." she motioned to her Mother. "This family is way too messed up." she shook her head, storming away from the dining room. Her father shouted for her to come back, but she didn't. Instead she hurried up to her room, wiping the tears that formed on her cheeks. She slammed the door to her room and locked it, ignoring the yelling her father still thought was necessary.

At that moment, Cameron made her decision. Her family was too messed up for her to live in. So she packed her bags. She put as much as she could into her backpack and waited. She waited, in her room with her door locked until everything was eerily silent. Then she quietly snuck through the house and into the kitchen. She gathered as much food as she could handle and left the house, slamming the door on the way out. There was no turning back now. Once she was gone, she was gone for good. There was no way of going back. She managed to get to her friend's house, where she stayed for a few days undercover. Her friend had told her about this place. A safe place for kids just like her. The ones with lives too hard to handle. The ones that ran away. Cameron was instantly interested. She thanked her friend and then headed off the next morning after taking a nice long shower. She didn't want to be a burden anymore. That very night, actually, a stranger had approached her. Asked if she was a runaway, mentioned the bus. Cameron normally wouldn't have trusted this person, but in this case she was desperate.

And that's how she ended up where she was. Sitting down on a comfortable couch. At least if it was a trick, she wasn't the only one stupid enough to go along with it. She leaned back against the couch, with one leg crossed over the other. She stood at about 5'6'' with a slender, yet lithe build. Relatively long legs to go with it. The skirt she wore just made them look longer. Her blue-green eyes looked about the room, studying each of the people seated around it. A female with beautifully bright red hair smoking by the window. A flirty male, who clearing appeared to be homosexual or bisexual. Another male, who was being flirted with. She was unsure about his sexual orientation at the moment, but it wasn't like she cared anyways. Danni, Parker, and Walker. The other female hadn't mentioned her name. Another redhead, although her hair appeared to be more natural. The blonde let out a soft sigh and sat up straight. "I'm Cameron," she introduced, making eye contact with each of the other teenagers. "Might as well just call me Cam. Everyone else does." she smiled sweetly. She figured she was a friendly person. Why not try and make some friends? They were all in the same situation more or less. Right?

╔═..══════╗
Nikita Nikolaevna Rasputina
╚══════..═╝

Nikita was thoroughly excited to start a brand new year at her school. In fact, she was excited for a few reasons. The main being she got to see all of her new friends again. (Even though she wasn't the biggest fan of one of them, that's a completely different story) She hadn't seen any of them over the summer, for the most part. Of course she talked to them and texted them, and messaged them over the 'Bookface', or so she called it. Even Skype was nice every once in a while.

In case you hadn't figured it out, she went back home to Russia over the summer. It was a pretty emotional time. Happy tears were shed, playful punches on her arm were delivered, and long, tight hugs occurred. Nikita quite liked it. Family was important to her. Her first year at her new, American school, she called her parents everyday. And she would do the same this year. She departed for the United States again as school came around again. And just like the year before, she came a few weeks early. She stated with her old, round uncle for those weeks in his tiny apartment. It didn't smell very nice, but Nikita couldn't complain. It was free. She spend enough money on long distance calls to Russia.

And although she missed her home every second she was away from it, she loved America. And when she was back at home, she missed America every second she was away. It was a strange feeling, really. She'd considered perhaps moving to America once she graduated. It was a tough decision she'd have to spend years thinking about. But the redhead was still a teenager, and she had much more to worry about. Like her schoolwork, and her friends, and perhaps even getting a boyfriend. She'd only really had one boyfriend. And even then he moved away after only a few months. But her romantic future wasn't looking so good. Nikita wasn't in most boys' interest. Sure, she was tall, and had the legs, but no guys actually went after the innocent type.

The redheaded Russian had arrived at the school in the middle of the night. She was exhausted from her last flight, and she could barely carry her bags. She'd shuffled into her assigned room. Although she was half asleep, she did notice Alyson sleeping in one of the beds. She was glad. Nikki was about to greet her, but she decided it was best to just let her sleep. So, she dropped her bags by her bed and plopped down quietly. She forgot about changing out of her jeans and taking out her contact lenses. She fell asleep almost instantly.

She woke up the next morning earlier than usual. She liked to sleep. A lot. She had no interest in getting up early. She wasn't interested in getting the theoretical 'worm'. Although she wasn't tired at all, she couldn't open her eyes. They hurt. She quickly realized that she'd forgotten to take her contacts out and she hurried to the bathroom where she pulled them out. After putting in a few eye drops, she undressed and hopped into the shower. Soon she came out, feeling completely awake. She took the time to do her hair and make up, and she got dressed quickly. She put in a few more eye drops, just in case. She slipped them into her pocket and put in a new pair of contacts.

It was then that she wondered where her roommate was. It was then that she spotted a note on her end table. She picked it up and read it quickly with a smile. She'd never had a nickname before. It was nice. In Russia, it was Nikita. Nothing else. Sometimes her parents would call her Child, or Dear, or something like that. But in America, she was Nikki. It suited her well. After reading the note, she grabbed her cell phone and called her home as she walked through the halls. Although it was late where her family was, they still answered. She spoke quickly and fluently in Russian. She said the basics before hanging up. She picked at her stockings boredly. It hadn't really dawned on her before, but she dressed differently from most.

She liked to wear shorts as often as she could. As a dancer, she had nice legs. Or at least she thought they were nice. She'd also realized she was taller than her friends. Which was a plus and a minus, in a way. She hurried down the halls quickly, only stopping for a short moment to peer out the window. She blinked at the sun in her face, and quickly hurried on into the cafeteria. The redhead looked around briefly before spotting Alyson. She quickly hurried over, not even noticing the boy at first. "Alyson!" she grinned happily, leaning over the table to hug her friend. Her accent was still thick, and her voice was surprising. It wasn't the slightest bit low, like a tall girl might have, and her words weren't harsh like a Russian's would be. Instead her voice was kind and sweet. She blinked a few times, letting her blinks adjust her contacts. "I have been missing you." she smiled shortly before titling her head slightly as she looked at the boy. "And who is this?" she asked, cocking her head slightly.

╔═..══════╗
Cameron Maya Hunter
╚══════..═╝

Cameron spent most of her time down the street at the Maison Rose. For obvious reasons. The main being the aspiring artist, Kilo. But she liked all of the other tenants just as fine. For the most part, anyway. But the time not spent at Maison Rose, it was spent at her own home. She lived in a cute Victorian home. Not-too-big-not-too-small. The twenty-year-old lived there with her biological mother and her step father. Her real father had died years ago. Cameron had never really minded that her Mother got remarried. She didn't see the man, Ian, as a replacement for her Father. And although she missed her father dearly, she loved Ian just as much as she would've loved her real father. He was kind and he always approved of what she did. Especially when her mother did not. Cameron and her mother didn't always get along, but they had a special bond, being the only females in the house. She had an older brother as well, but he had moved to New York City a few years ago. They keep in contact often. He wasn't a fan of the whole step dad thing and got away as soon as possible.

The young woman had woken up extra early that day. Across the street the tenants at the Maison Rose had a little party. Cameron went for a short while, but she ended up leaving early. She had no plans on getting completely smashed just a few days before her own birthday. In all honestly, she was excited. Birthdays and holidays had always been fun around her home. And although her brother, Dylan, wasn't there to spend the day with her, she'd received a package in the mail a day before. She had no doubt that it was a present from him, but she wasn't going to open it before the day and ruin her surprise. So she'd set it nicely on her bedroom dresser. Of course she had urges to rip it open to see what it was, but she controlled herself. She tried not to look at it as much as possible. After waking up, she took a shower, which was a lot easier and faster now that her hair was short. Her hair used to be down to her waist, but she'd cut it all off recently and donated it. She felt she suited short hair better. And it was so much easier to take care of.

After she was lean and feeling refreshed, she'd gotten dressed to suit the weather outside. A sheer sleeveless blouse tucked into a pair of denim shorts did the trick. Another reason she liked having short hair. It kept her cool as well. She applied her make up like she did everyday, and straightened out her hair. She made sure to keep quiet as her mother and step dad were still asleep. Although they would wake up soon. She crept quietly down the stairs and into the kitchen where the family dog was. She knelt down and gave him a stroke before filling up his food dish. The fat pug hurried to the bowl and began to eat as Cameron turned on the stove. She got out a pan and began to cook up some breakfast for her family. Bacon and eggs. Simple, really. But it was the thought that counted. Everyone was bustling to make her happy around her birthday, but she wanted to return the favour. She'd set the table just as the two others woke up, smelling breakfast cooking. Cameron turned around, the pan in her hand as they entered the kitchen. "Morning!" she said happily as she put a generous amount of food on everyone's plate before putting the pan away.

Her Mother smiled happily and placed a kiss on her cheek, thanking her for the breakfast as she sat down. Ian simply ruffled her hair in thanks, much like a father would do to his son. The brunette gave a little frown and straightened out her hair as she sat down too. The family chatted idly as they ate, and Cameron eventually stood up to put everything away. During this time, her parents hurried off to get ready. Before Ian went off to work, he kissed his wife on the lips, and kisses Cameron on the forehead, thanking her again before he left the house. Cam let out a sigh and leaned against the counter, finishing off her class of orange juice. She put the empty glass away and brushed her teeth in the bathroom quickly before walking back into the kitchen where her Mother sat reading the news paper. Like every day, Cameron grabbed the leach for her dog and hooked him up, slipping some shoes on and heading outside to walk her dog like she did every morning. The poor thing needed his exercise.

Cameron walked the same distance every day. A few blocks to the park where she let her dog run around by himself. He always made his way back to her anyway. She sat on a bench under the shade of a large tree. She'd have to leave a little early this time. It was far too hot to be out there for so long. Shortly after, she rounded up her dog and headed back home, dropping him off and stepping inside. She let out a happy sigh. Air conditioning was her life saver in the summer. She grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and took a sip. Her mother was still in the kitchen, but she was now cutting out coupons, meaning she was going to go shopping later. Cameron rolled her eyes and gripped the bottle tightly. "Well, I'm off. I'll be back later." she smiled, twisting the cap back onto her water bottle. Her mother nodded, not looking up from her coupon cutting. "Okay, Sweetie. Have fun." she spoke to Cameron as if she was a young girl. This caused another eye roll, but she placed a kiss on her mother's cheek before walking over to the door. "Love you!" she shouted before leaving the house.

The brunette took the short walk around to the Maison Rose, where she pulled open the door and casually stepped inside. She frowned softly. It wasn't that much cooler than outside, and Cameron was glad she'd brought her water with him. She closed the door behind her and walked around a bit, wondering where everyone was. It wasn't long before she found Freya sweeping away. She smiled softly and leaned against the wall slightly. "Good morning." she gave a friendly smile, looking down at her room before standing up straight. "Did you want any help with that?" she asked kindly. Of course Cameron offered to help. She quite liked Freya. She was so kind, and she could only imagine how hard it was to clean up after a bunch of people while paying for damages and whatnot. That probably explained the heat inside the building. Cameron couldn't not offer to help.

Close the door
Throw the key
Don't wanna be reminded
Don't wanna be seen
Don't wanna be without you
My judgement is clouded
Like tonight's sky

Everything was so quiet, but that was the way she liked it to be. When it was quiet, it was easier to think. About a lot of things. The way things used to be. Happy things. But the happy things weren't very happy anymore. More like depressing things. The room was dark. Thick curtains blocked out the sunlight. Most of it, anyway. Enough that it felt like night all the time. The lights were off, and a slim girl laid under the covers. Katherine. She wasn't doing anything in particular. Hell, she hadn't left her room in ages. She hadn't done much. She hadn't eaten, she hadn't slept. She hadn't even spoke. Nothing. She just laid in bed. Either she was writing down something, or scrolling through old pictures on her phone.

Either way, she hadn't talked to anyone recently. She'd gotten a load of texts that she didn't even bother reading. Twenty-seven missed calls, seven voice messages, and one-hundred four text messages. All from friends, and fake friends, and people she didn't even know, telling her that things would get better, asking how she was doing, etcetera. She just wished that people would leave her alone. It was clear she didn't want to talk to any of them. She didn't even talk to her parents. Not to mention her best friends. Katie hadn't even cried in a while. She couldn't. It seemed as though she had to tears left to cry. At this very moment, she laid, curled up in her blankets, going through the pictures on her phone. Pictures that made her smile a sad smile. Katie couldn't bring herself to delete them, no matter how hard she tried. Just as she began to look at the next one, her door creaked open and the light was turned on, causing the light to nearly blind her. She quickly closed her eyes and took cover under the sheets, hoping the light would go away. But soon enough, the covers were ripped off of her, revealing an angry mother.

"I'm sick of this! I know you're upset honey, but can't just sit around all day. It's unhealthy. Look how skinny you've gotten! Get up." the older woman said with her hands on her hips. Katherine simply groaned and hid under her pillow. "Mom. I don't want to get up, okay?" her voice was strained. "Honey, I don't care if you want to or not. You're getting up because I said so!" she was starting to get angry. She wasn't very pretty when she was angry. As Katie sat up, her Mother hurried away to cook up Katherine's first real meal in weeks. It hurt to stand up. Her legs were so stiff that she had to sit down and stretch them out for a few minutes before she could even make her way across the hall into the bathroom. She took of her comfortable pajamas and got in the shower. It felt nice. After she got out, she looked at herself in the mirror and frowned at her reflection.

Her skin, once bright and glowing was now pale and lifeless. She was always pretty skinny, but she just looked downright unhealthy. Her hips and ribs protruded from her skin, and she felt exactly the same way she looked; like crap. She looked so fragile. Like if she fell, she would just break. She sighed and dried her hair before getting dressed. She found that her clothes were baggy on her, but there wasn't much she could do. The brunette sat down at her vanity and took a lot of time to cover the dark circles under her eyes with make up. Although she was unhappy with her appearance, she left her room finally. Walking down the stairs was a challenge, but she eventually made it down and sat down at the dining table where a plate of grilled cheese was waiting for her. She had a bite before she felt sick. She just wasn't feeling herself. Just as she pushed the plate away from herself, her iPhone vibrated on the table, causing her to pick it up. She swallowed, not wanting to read the full message. She knew she'd feel guilty if she did. She sat for a few minutes, just staring at her phone screen. But she decided to open the message. She read it and she felt even worse. She slouched in her seat, debating whether or not to text him back. Katie felt she owed it to him, so she did.

To: Jay Jay
From: Katie
I'm okay

That was all it said. She didn't know what else to say. What was she supposed to say? She wasn't really sure how to treat the situation. Something like this had never happened before. But he was still her best friend. The girl could only hope that he didn't hate her. But she wouldn't blame him if he did. The text message alone made her sound like a total b***h. Not to mention she hadn't even made an effort to talk to him in weeks.

Hands are silent
Voice is numb
Try to scream out my lungs
But it makes this harder
And the tears stream down my face

If we could only have this life for one more day
If we could only turn back time
You know I'll be
Your life, your voice your reason to be
My love, my heart
Is breathing for this
Moment in time
I'll find the words to say
Before you leave me today

The Shy Musician

Most people didn't know anything about Spencer. Most people didn't even know her name. She was just 'that quiet girl that plays guitar'. Sure, people knew she could play guitar. But no one knew anything else. They didn't know about the other instruments, or the singing talent. That information was saved for a few special people. The main being her best friend. No one really knew that she was a early bird. Every morning, she got up at five thirty. She didn't need the aid of an alarm clock. She was fully awake every morning. After getting out of bed, she'd make her way down to the kitchen where she'd prepare herself a quick breakfast of oatmeal, fruit, and a large glass of water. She ate slowly. She had tons of time to spare. Once she was finished, she loaded her dishes into the dishwasher and went back up the stairs and into the bathroom where she stripped off her pajamas and hopped into the shower.

The shower she took wasn't even long. She was one of the few people that didn't actually like having long showers. She couldn't think in the shower. It was too distracting. So she got clean and got out as fast as she could. After she stepped out, she wrapped a towel around her body and started to blow dry her hair until it sat straight over her shoulders. She turned on her heel and hurried back into her room where she dried the rest of her body before picking out an outfit for the day. Once dressed, she sat down at her large vanity and began to do her make up. It took a while. She was very precise when doing her make up. For someone who was as timid as she was, she sure didn't dress like it. Her make up was always bold. Spencer pulled it off nicely while not a lot of other people could. A portion of her midriff was showing as well. But she liked cropped tops. Once she was ready appearance wise, she brushed her teeth and shoved her phone into her pocket. She picked up her guitar from its stand and headed outside to the backyard where she sat down, cross legged on the deck.

The blonde had a book out on the ground in front of her and a pencil behind her ear. Most of her free time was passed by playing a few tunes. In this case, she was attempting to write a song. One of only few she already had written. Only a few complete ones, that is. There were about five that were finished, that she actually liked. And over twelve unfinished songs that she would eventually get to later. At the moment, she was quite liking the song she was writing, although she had come to a block in her creativity. She strummed the few chords she had, when stopped to hum what she thought might come next. She nodded once and pulled the pencil out from behind her ear, only to scribble down what she'd just come up with. It went on like this for a few minutes. Every once in a while she'd go back and scribble something out and change it. Her thoughts were interrupted when she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. She sighed and pulled it out, already knowing who the text would be from. Of course. Her best friend, Kaoru. She loved the boy to death. The boy had been like a brother to her ever since they were basically babies. He was just about the only person she could sing in front of. And definitely the only person she could spill her feelings to. Especially after her real brother passed away a few years ago. She didn't play much before then. But now she played every day. She quickly sent up a reply to him.

                  To: Kaoru
                  From: Spence
I wish you'd stop saying that. And yes please! You know where I am (:

Do you love me because I'm beautiful?
Or am I beautiful because you love me?

pencer wiggled her eyebrows at her sister and took the car keys from her happily. She hummed as she skipped away from the couch, leaving the living room. She quickly went out the front door, remembering to close it behind her. Once down the front steps, she slowed her walking speed as she made her way to the car. She unlocked it with the keys and got into the passenger's seat, closing the door after she was seated. She leaned over, stuck the key in the ignition and turned it, hearing the engine roar to life. She sat back up and turned on the radio to the station that she liked, although her and her sister had much different taste in music.

he blonde buckled up her seat belt and waited for her siblings to finally pile into the car before Mariah pulled out of the driveway and headed in the direction of the new cafe. The drive wasn't very long, but Spencer would glare at her older sister occasionally for changing the radio station. But she didn't mind too much. She wasn't very focused on the music. Instead she had her eyes glued to the window, watching the blurs of houses and trees fly by the glass. She did turn to look at her sister just in time to see her faint blush and smile, causing the blonde to roll her eyes. "Oh my God, Mariah," she smirked. "Why don't you just ask him out already?" she asked with her eyebrows raised. She peered around behind her seat to look at her brother. "Right?" she laughed, straightening out again. She'd always felt a little strange around her siblings. As a child, her hair was brown like the her siblings, but as she grew older it turned blonde.

oon enough, the car had pulled into the parking lot of the new cafe. Spencer quickly unbuckled her seatbelt and jumped out of the car, slamming the door shut. She walked up the curb and ran ahead of her sister, opening the door and getting inside before she could. Taking a quick look around, she spotted a woman who she assumed was the owner, and walked towards her slowly. She stood patiently, waiting for the woman to finish up her conversation with the male before interrupting silently. "Um... Sorry to interrupt, but, are you the owner?" she asked politely with her eyebrows raised. "You're hiring, correct?" she asked.
