BIOGRAPHY


Nora was an orphan left at the steps of the city's biggest - and now only - spiritual temple before it was taken over by a wealthy monk who claimed to have visions of the future. Unable to care for the baby Nora was left by the previous inhabitants and, along with the temple, put into the care of Brother Raymond. Although Raymond's only concern was to practice his witchcraft in the secrecy of the temple he chose to keep the child.

Much of her life was spent being cared for by spirits who held little emotion due to their torment in the afterlife. Rarely did they speak. In fact Nora never learnt how to speak though she understands words. She was kept in a room of the temple, seemingly forgotten and cared for only by cold, enslaved spirits. It was due to this that she unlocked her talents for telepathy and learnt to reach out, beyond the walls for company.

In the last five years over 200 people of various status have claimed to have heard the voice of 'God' and even conversed with her. The voice? None other than Nora searching for something, she is unsure of what exactly. In truth she doesn't understand what she is doing or why but has learned that by having a possession of a person she can speak with them for a prolonged period of time. Even without this aid by willing for 'someone' or 'anyone' people can find themselves calling upon her.

Within the past year Brother Raymond has re-entered public life but only to represent her following an episode where a handful of 'believers' entered the temple in search of 'God'. To this day she has never been seen by any other living being apart from Brother Raymond who rarely visits her.

It is only through various people 'calling' upon 'anyone' or 'someone' that she has learned about the world. Without people so willing to share their lives and sometimes even their dreams with her Nora would have a very small experience of the world.


TALENTS


Telepathy: Nora can converse with people through thoughts alone. However she cannot 'read minds'. If someone wishes that she, 'God', 'someone' or 'anyone' to hear them or aid them then she is able to hear their thoughts. In order to have a prolonged conversation with Nora one must give up a posession of theirs - something which they are strong associated with (for instance a favourite piece of clothing, precious jewelry or even something such as a lock of hair).

If you wondered why she chooses to expose the rather ugly, large birthmark on her right eye it is because her left eye is entirely white - there is a barely visible pupil but no iris. This defect caused Brother Raymond to feel very uncomfortable, hence she has always had it covered.

PERSONALITY

Passionate and Impulsive → While this woman is perfectly capable of understanding and following orders it is often her emotional nature which leads the way. These two traits are, in themselves, exhausting and yet give her a strength which is uncommon in the men and women of today.

Egocentric and Manipulative → It is not uncommon for a woman to know how to get what she wants, nor is it out of place for a woman to use her sexuality to obtain what she wants. However, there is no doubt that her desires focus almost exclusively on the good of herself and her frequently hedonistic desires. Naturally by the time people are aware of the depths of her selfishness it is already too late for Drucilla will have already taken all she wants from her victim.

Gregarious and Risk Taker → While she does not believe in taking ‘unnecessary risks’, when the prize is great she will often jump head first into situations for the sake of glory, fame or wealth. Yet, despite her egoism, she is a social being, though it could be argued this is more of a means to an end.




BIOGRAPHY

Infancy → Her birth was meant to save her starving family. Every day her parents prayed that the swelling belly of her mother would contain a strong boy who would easy their winter troubles. The couple were going old and, it seemed this was one of their last opportunities to create a family that could sustain them. She was born in the months of famine; another hungry mouth to feed. They considered her timing, and gender, a bad omen. While other girls of the village had the luxury of summer’s spent sewing, cooking and courting Drucilla found herself pulled out onto her father’s farm and often the stress and strain of work made it feel as though her slender frame would break.

Childhood → Her parents were not particularly bad people – simply unfortunate. They worked their only child as though she was a full grown man and at best provided her with skills to survive in the wilderness along with basic reading and mathematics, schooling was provided by the local church. It was not long before a man, more than ten years her senior, seized upon her with the promises of pretty ribbons and jewels. Abandoning her family at the ripe age of fourteen years she followed a strange man across the country to harsher conditions. But, as her parents had always whispered, Drucilla was indeed a bad omen when she arrived into people’s lives. Two years later she emerged from the wilderness and her city life, returning to her family. The man was never spoke of nor was his gruesome end. Bored of farming now she had tasted the delights of an urban scene, Drucilla turned to different occupations to earn money and, just as her parents had wished, she provided them with a tidy sum so that they might live comfortably for a few winters more. They had, after all, begotten her. This had at least some monetary value.

Adolescence → Her late teens and early twenties would see her change continue. Women in taverns commented loudly about how a ‘respectable’ woman would be married by her age. But do not be deceived, men too had foul words prepared for such an outcast woman. She was their economic rival, one many of them would have liked to see in a kitchen rather than taking the bread from their glutted mouths. It was during one altercation with a rather bad mouthed young man that she met her one ‘friend’. A half tamed wolf whom she has never got around to naming. While they may at times seem a perfectly harmonious mistress and pet, there have been several times where the wolf has turned upon her and she had to ‘teach’ the creature its place. In the past three years the pair have come to work as a hunting pair and the wolf, despite the occasional abuse, remains with the woman for it is well fed and kept warm. Before Drucilla took the half wild animal into her life its skin clung tightly to its ribs and it had clearly nearly avoided being a victim of a less able hunter.

Employment → Previous to now she has worked done various menial work. As a child she worked intensively upon a farm and the small number of livestock. Throughout her older years she has fallen back on her skills as a hunter for edible meat and furs. At other times she has used these skills to kill (not so) fearsome beasts who terrorise villages. Drucilla has also worked once or twice as hired ‘justice’. Those she harmed or killed were certainly not innocent people, so she will never consider her actions on these occasions murder, though if the law caught wind of it they may think otherwise. It is her role as personal guard which has led her to travel the length and breadth of the Empire to escort varying people of riches or importance from one place to another safety.



EQUIPMENT

Drucilla will only ever take what is necessary. If a trip is likely to pass through a city within a few days she is unlikely to take more than the bare essentials, on the other hand a length track through the wilderness would require for something more. Often she will carry a ‘heavy’ weapon such as a mace or broad sword. It is not uncommon for her to swap or purchase new weapons when possible. She will always carry a thick blanket of animal fur which makes her sleep roll, a rather formidable knife and a needle and thread.

Psychotic, delusional, narcissistic and psychological unstable. These things I am not. I have had 'everything' and had it stripped from me in the blink of an eye. I care for life, but not in a selfish sense. Social harmony is the very reason I remain here upon this Earth. While I have never been the 'brightest' spark, I am hard working and surprisingly gifted in linguistics. While I dislike deception, it is sometimes necessary as others would have me locked up for the public service I am doing. Rather than being a sexual creature, as so many dangerous women are, I am motherly and nurturing yet with I do so with a firm hand.

What made me "Me"
Fresh out of internship I had everything. A wonderful boyfriend and a baby. Not my baby, but his, and yet I somehow manage to bond with the child. We were, as some have said, the perfect family. I worked freelance as a translator and he as an accountant. We had money, the comforts and luxury of middle-class living. Someone wanted to take that away and they did. First they took my baby and then my partner. Two lives, precious and with so much still to achieve, taken without care. People often hear my story and ask 'How did you survive?'. They believe, or rather are convinced, that I was forced to perform some sexual favours for my life. In truth I too should have died. The doctors said it was a 'miracle' that I survived, but for the first year of my 'new' life I thought of it as a curse.

The men who took my life from me went to court and yet received minimal sentences. They had 'troubled backgrounds' and were of 'unsound mind'. They took the very thing you can never replace away from me - love and live - and yet they would continue their lives of crime after what I consider to be a short stint behind bars. The pain I felt that year was unbearable, each second I felt as though I was dying all over again. It was as though someone was ripping at my heart, trying to tear it from my chest. Then, quite out of the blue, I woke up. I woke up with a strange new point of view. I will never be the only victim. I will never be the last victim. This pain will never go away, but I have the power to administer justice for those who must live out this pain knowing that every day the person who stole the life of their lover or child walks free and eats well. And so it began.

The media never doubted I was a woman. Statistics show that drugs are the favoured weapon of choice for women. What was a small column titled 'Justice Strikes!' when a serial bugler was found cold dead, escalated. A pattern emerged which the media quickly seized upon. A small percentage of victims were accused terrible or accumulative crimes. Thus I was dubbed 'The Vigilante'. As this pleased me I wrote them letters. Printed letters dropped upon the ground and addressed to the newsrooms. Any prints on the envelope would not be mine and every material was common, in wide circulation. You see, while I appreciate people admiring my drive I really could not face the media frenzy if my identity were to be revealed.

As a child it was clear that Sophia did not resemble her sisters as she should. That is to say she has very few traits desirable for a princess. At first she was a fabulist. A skilled author of lies and story tales alike, and then, as studies were thrust onto her, she became thoughtful and serious. The studies which interested her sister's did not interest her. Religion, philosophy, theories of the mind and emotion. These abstract studies were the only thing she would truly devote herself to. As she grew older she grew wiser, her cheerful childhood was discarded as she came to reflect inwardly almost constantly.

Since adolescence she has been attracted to the underdog and drawn, inexplicitly, to troubled and pained individuals. As a consequence she has sometimes found herself in dangerous situations. Because of her rather bizarre behaviour her father assigned her a small cell of guards, men and women, who should be aware of her whereabouts at all time. This little year trip is one of the first times in five years that she has not been aware of eyes watching her every move. Sophia is not keen on the idea of love or marriage, but she is sure that she will find some solace from such silly affairs by spending time in the company of the servants.

PERSONALITY

Manipulative → As far as David sees it, everyone is there to be used. Most people are idiots, fools who cave in quickly when faced with flattery. He will take money, objects and even special tributes of women in order to 'bless' his slowly growing congregation. There is not one person whom he tells the truth to.

Insensitive and Cruel → While he appears sensitive and caring in order to manipulate people, it is clear to see that he is a rather cruel man. He cares little for the needs of others be it physical - such as warmth or food - mental or emotional. It is for this reason that he has never treated his ward with one ounce of affection.

Cowardly → If the odds are stacked against him then David has no issues with turning tail and running away. The one thing he has held on to so far has been the church and his ward (not that anyone knows the latter is in his possession). If it appears as though he has a good chance of winning then David will stay something out, however he will never enter a fight unless it is to protect his magic books (or begins with a painful secret attack from him).




BIOGRAPHY

Childhood → David was always the 'odd' child in his village. An orphan who was cared for by a secluded little village, which would have been fine had David not been so curious as to dark powers and believed everyone should do as he said. At the age of seven the village made a collective decision to pass him on to a travelling monk who delivered him to an abbey where he received training to be a monk. David has never known his parents, nor had experienced a family which may explain why he is so cynical of them.

Education → As a child of the abbey, David was taught many skills such as reading, writing and foreign languages. This put him ahead of his peers outside the abbey walls. Nevertheless his bizarre interests did not change. He worked hard and appeared a shining example of a devoted holy man. However, when he was granted to access to the great library he reverted to his secluded life style, obsessed with devils on earth and the like. He searched desperately for a way in which to use the power of the devil for his own personal gain. Finding nothing useful he elected to become a travelling monk, his brethren having no inclination of his deviation.

Adult Travels → David indulged in many things, and read many books claiming to hold the secrets of magic. However his search bore no fruit and eventually, having brought a great many requiring length time and potions, he brought a bankrupt church and was surprised to find an infant had been included in the bargain. The child he believed could become a useful slave or servant as it grew older, and thus he cared for it sparsely, keeping it alive but hardly healthy. Each moment wasted on the child was precious moments from his books and so his visits soon reduced from frequent checks during the day to once a day.

Inventing an Angel → Having a mute child was not a particularly bad thing, however it did mean that she may be of less use in the outside world. Yet, as she grew older, David realised that the little prompts in his mind was in fact the young child making requests. She spoke of spirits and seemed quite at odds with the reality, however it was not enough to tempt him from his books until a young man came to the church in search of a voice he had heard the previous day. From there things began to fall neatly into place and David nurtured his ward a little more tenderly and with more direction. She was to reach as many people as possible, to draw them into their church and as that the building be treated as a shrine to her (and thus tributes would be much appreciated).



TALENTS

Scholar → David has a great knowledge of foreign languages and can easily translate large volumes of texts into comprehensive English. This comes in handy, particularly with older books.

Actor → He plays the role of a monk well and is skilled in grooming people to his will. It is for this reason that he has never really experienced much trouble with the general public, some of whom look up to him.



WEAPONS

Fists → David has no form of training with any weapon and so has only mastered his use of fists. Naturally he does his best to make use of what is around if the time calls for it - such as using someone else's blade to slit their neck - but he will run from a any fight he is likely to lose. That isn't to say that he is a 'lover not a fighter', just that he would rather not be at a disadvantage.



WEAKNESSES

Obsession → His obsession with dark magic is deep rooted and life long. It is not something he can let go of, even now, and thus he can easily become absorbed in texts for hours resulting in him forgetting to attend to his basic needs - or that of his ward. A regular sleeping and eating pattern has never been established since he became his lonely travelling.

Animal Tamer: Luna has always had a natural affinity for animals. As she has matured she has found that even predators - such as wolves - will come to show her respect and heed to her will. This relationship is not simply take; always Luna offers something in return for loyal service no matter what the animal or its skills. Due to this strong bond with animals, eating meat and killing them causes her some discomfort.
Clarity: While unable to read minds, Luna has a strong 'feeling' whenever someone tells a lie. This in itself is enough to make her wary of what falsehoods they may be spewing.

Their personality: While she may not be as gifted in looks as her younger sister, there is nothing in her personality to suggest she is less of a lady. At a young age she learned what people expected of her and, eager to please for treats, she conformed. Table manners, small talk and respect for everyone ensued. If you dress her in the robes of a princess then she will perform as the ideal should - with grace, warmth and love for her country. Subtract that persona and you are left with someone who is assertive, confident and charismatic. Thoughtful, yet not the point of indecision. Luna is not afraid of pain and thus fights with strong convolutions in the name of justice. Her weapons are not made to disable - they are made to maim and kill. The lack of emotional response to the dark deeds she must carry out make her appear heartless and cool, but when it comes to her allies she is clearly compassionate.
Their history: She has always been the mature, clever child, who was eager to learn and to absorb intellectual pursuits. Unknown to the world darker forces pulled at her heart strings, and clouded her mind. Nevertheless, she played the part of the happy, well behaved child. A perfect future queen. And that was her aspiration: to be married off to a charming prince and rule the country in a way which was best for it - just as her father had done.

Then she grew a little older and took interest in the warriors of her kingdom and their knights. Luna demanded training. As every good princess does she received what she wanted. And then, as life was truly building purpose, he came. Hidden in the tiny passageway once reserved for servants to crawl through she watched through the small gap in horror. Her father had been ill, but positivity had seen her through, along with the knowledge that he trusted in her abilities to take over the throne in the absence of an heir. When her mother was lifted she did not - or rather, could not - scream and when the torch came she could not extinguish it. Frozen within the safety of a disused storage room her eyes saw more than they needed to. A sick and heavy guilt has rested upon her heart ever since, though she was at least partly responsible for taking her sister to safety.

When she heard of rebels she had no doubt about wanting to join them. Luna desires her kingdom back and will extract revenge for the suffering that has been inflicted on her family and on her people. However, to reveal her identity and form a rebel group at this stage - with no supporters - would be a foolish death sentence. She hopes to win over the Svarro and convince them to become loyal to her cause.

Personality
Taking things at face value is one thing you can depend on Kaida for. It rarely occurs to her that people can be lying about things - unless she expects them to lie, that is. Therefore she usually accepts what is told to her and moves on, without too much care for how credible the source of information is. This trait of taking things at face value also means she is not someone who readily looks for hidden means and thus can sometimes seem oblivious to what others consider to be obvious.

In general she is an impulsive person, drive by pleasure seeking. Being social, commanding groups of people and winning the hearts of others is not a difficult task for this young lady. Making new friends is considered one of lives little gifts and she is very rarely struck with shyness. The fact that she is excitable means she can often come off as being more outgoing that she is, or even hyperactive! Being of the sanguine temperament means she is also quite the daydream and enjoys idealistic and romantic thinking. This makes her prone to bouts of forgetfulness.

On the negative side she easily becomes bored with things such as games, hobbies and even romantic partners when they stopped interesting her. Often Kaida believes herself to be in the right and has no issue with arguing that point with other people.

History
Kaida was lucky to have an easy upbringing. While she was not always popular with other children, her vivid imagination allowed her to breeze through the lonely times. At least that is how it seems in retrospect. Much of her secondary education was spent enjoying the company of her class mates and the wide range of extra-curriculum activities on offer. Undoubtedly she was the star pupil in terms of being well liked and well rounded, despite her grades never being top in the class. Even now Kaida recalls her schooling as being a very positive time and is generally confused when others claim to not have had the same experience.

With school over her parents brought it to her attention that she had no idea what she wanted to do with her life. What job would she like to do? What were her long term career aspirations? She didn't have a clue, and still doesn't! She has drifted from job to job, never quite satisfied even when faced with a promotion. To name a few she has been a check out girl, florist, librarian, waitress and even dabbled in voice acting. The only things her previous jobs have given her is greater confidence and a wider social network. It was for this reason that a rift began to grow between her and her usually easy going family. They were concerned about her lack of direction and wished her to settle on a path - maybe even go to university.

While known as a pleasant, cheerful woman it would be difficult to deny that Gwen is a cynic. She believes every action performed by a human in some way serves their own interest. Therefore it is only natural that she is an unashamed self proclaimed egotist. Fortunately, this doesn't mean she is of a particularly cruel temperament only that she is perfectly at peace with the idea that every 'good deed' she commits ultimately serves her own desires. Gwen does, however, have a desire to be liked which comes from a deeper desire to control and manipulate people (if and when necessary). She also believes that knowledge is a very important tool and so seeks to learn as much as she can, though she would never truly put her job at risk for knowledge. Her pragmatic and determined attitude have taken her far in life and are two of her defining attributes.

Gwen was born with an abnormally ambitious driven, though it is not surprising given she is the daughter of a key official within the New Reform. Since birth she was always a daddy's girl and so she was fed on a diet of the New Reform. Her father instilled in his eldest daughter all that he could in order to help her find a place in the more... educated part of society. He desired that she, one day, sit among the officials as he did. When she was young reports suggested that her skilled hands could take her far in some vocational career - the prospect of university was uncertain - but as she matured into a young woman, one with a keen mind, reports changed. Eligible for specialised work. Gwen's father was over joyed; as was she, but more so when she learned what exactly lay in store for her during her final years of education.

University had held much joy for her, but it had only ever been a training ground. Gwen was eager to complete her time in education and get to work in order to use her new skills. Interrogation was a dead art - so dead that it was hardly mentioned in New Reform literature - but the idea that rebellion could be on the horizon opened up (for those of a colder nature) the opportunity for it to be reborn behind closed doors. No one but the New Reformation officials were to know of its use. Not even her father is aware that she has a wide library of knowledge, catalogued inside her head, of ways in which to break a man and draw from his lips what his own mother could not. From this, it is no surprise that her main area of study in University was Psychology and other human related subjects.

Her first year in work saw her become a part of the Human Relocation Committee. A fancy title for a department which essentially looked to ease the issues caused by an ever increasing population. The sector she was assigned to was sensitively named 'disposal'. She, and the other members of the disposal team, were to think of creative ways to make people disappear and to figure out who should disappear. The evil, the elderly and the disabled were popular places to start... This was a 'part time' position and so there was always hours in the week reserved for voluntary curfew patrol. Currently she is assigned to many ongoing projects within the New Reform, but has yet to be called upon for her interrogation skills (much to her dismay).

To this day she has yet to partake in a Joining Ceremony which is not unusual for females in her line of work. She intends to get around to the whole joining business some time this year or next.

She has the standard police training meaning she is very capable of looking after herself in a fight. However, most of her work is office or 'friendly' people based so there is little cause for her combat knowledge to be extended.

When in trouble she generally turns to her father for help as he can 'pull a few strings' for her.

Humility and modesty are two traits so deeply ingrained in Trudy that it would be difficult to ever remove them. She has been shaped as the model citizen with all the great virtues. Altruistic, honest and peaceful are traits which some would argue make her weak. Nevertheless she has a strong liking of justice and is well aware, for she is greatly intellectual, that justice is subjective in the hands of humans. Trudy is tolerant and, it seems, endlessly forgiving.

Being the youngest child in a family usually means they receive all the attention of the parents unfairly, or very little attention at all as they live in the shade of their older siblings. However it must be said that at a young age she earned the attention of her parents through her bright intellect and spiritual thinking. Her father would always be smitten with her older sister, but Trudy learned not to mind so much. He was somewhat of an overbearing man, pushy and a little quick to temper. Her mother, on the other hand, had the patience of a saint and the understanading of a angel.

Throughout her childhood she was close to her older sister, though they fought has all siblings do. Often people would comment on how similar they looked - were they identical twins? Trudy found it a compliment to be likened to her sister so much, however it seemed Trudy was brilliant only in mind and so their careers were destined to be very different. With a mind for logic and reason, and a fascination for numbers and patterns, the state saw fit to funnel her into university as a mathematics specialist. While she is trained mainly for economics, she was given some light background in science and engineering should her skills be required.

Last year she was joined with a young man with whom she rarely sees eye to eye. Though his ideals may be far from hers she does her best to make their relationship as smooth as possible. To this day they have yet to share an intimate moment as Trudy is unable to share herself with someone who does not commit fully to sharing himself intellectually and spiritually with her.

Drucilla was born in a far off, poor country, during the famine months of the Winter Solstice. Life was hard and work began almost as soon as one could walk or make use of their nimble fingers. Her family had prayed for a strong boy to ease their struggles and though her birth disappointed them greatly they worked her as though she was the man they had dreamed of. At the age of fourteen she ran away with an older man to sample the delights of the world and found a taste for luxuries that her rural upbringing had never supplied her with. Always a woman with a hardy disposition, fighting for what she wanted never troubled her and so it was only natural progression that she was drawn to The Games of Tima for gold. So far she has proven herself to be a favourite of sponsors and the crowd alike. Her sassy conversation and firey locks won her the attention which would aid her to become one of the famed champions of this year.

PERSONALITY

Passionate and Impulsive → While this woman is perfectly capable of understanding and following orders it is often her emotional nature which leads the way. These two traits are, in themselves, exhausting and yet give her a strength which is uncommon in the men and women of today.

Egocentric and Manipulative → It is not uncommon for a woman to know how to get what she wants, nor is it out of place for a woman to use her sexuality to obtain what she wants. However, there is no doubt that her desires focus almost exclusively on the good of herself and her frequently hedonistic desires. Naturally by the time people are aware of the depths of her selfishness it is already too late for Drucilla will have already taken all she wants from her victim.

Gregarious and Risk Taker → While she does not believe in taking ‘unnecessary risks’, when the prize is great she will often jump head first into situations for the sake of glory, fame or wealth. Yet, despite her egoism, she is a social being, though it could be argued this is more of a means to an end.

BIOGRAPHY

Her birth was meant to save her starving family. Every day her parents prayed that the swelling belly of her mother would contain a strong boy who would easy their winter troubles. The couple were growing old and, it seemed this was one of their last opportunities to create a family that could sustain them. She was born in the months of famine; another hungry mouth to feed. They considered her timing, and gender, a bad omen. While other girls of the village had the luxury of summer’s spent sewing, cooking and courting Drucilla found herself pulled out onto her father’s farm and often the stress and strain of work made it feel as though her slender frame would break.

Her parents were not particularly bad people – simply unfortunate. They worked their only child as though she was a full grown man and at best provided her with skills to survive in the wilderness along with basic reading and mathematics, schooling was provided by the local church. It was not long before a man, more than ten years her senior, seized upon her with the promises of pretty ribbons and jewels. Abandoning her family at the ripe age of fourteen years she followed a strange man across the country to harsher conditions. By adulthood Drucilla had returned home and turned to different occupations to earn money and, just as her parents had wished, she provided them with a tidy sum so that they might live comfortably for a few winters more. They had, after all, begotten her.

While out on her travels Drucilla made a strange friend - a half tamed wolf whom she has never got around to naming. While they may at times seem a perfectly harmonious mistress and pet, there have been several times where the wolf has turned upon her and she had to ‘teach’ the creature its place. In the past three years the pair have come to work as a hunting pair and the wolf, despite the occasional abuse, remains with the woman for it is well fed and kept warm. Before Drucilla took the half wild animal into her life its skin clung tightly to its ribs and it had clearly nearly avoided being a victim of a less able hunter.

Rumours of Tima and it's famous Games had always been a bit of a mystery to her, however when work took her to Tima it was love at first sight. While a hunter might have seemed out of place in an economy of entertainment her skills was easily transferable to some of the money making opportunities on offer. Shows such as 'who can kill this fearsome beast?' were just the beginning for Drucilla. Being invited to The Games was inevitable, as was her popularity with its viewers.

Druicilla stands five foot and ten inches tall, is clearly experienced in battle and has a few scars along her arms from claws of fearsome beasts she has faced in the past.

Her father encouraged her to have a love of such violent games. Caroline, also known as Tilly to those champions who have received gifts from her, seems to have an endless supply of money, but will only support those who are 'good'. When there is no entertainment she can often be found in the hospital wing helping nurses and keeping the injured in good spirits.

PERSONALITY

Given her sheltered up bringing Caroline often appears patient, quiet and thoughtful, however she does haev some Inconsistent bursts of confidence. Despite having a guardian she is easily frightened by displays of aggression, surprises or loud noises. Given her good heart she feels very much bound to duty and justice. Her better qualities include being easily amused (which can help counter how quickly she is frightened) and her gentle and caring nature which makes her a rather nice sponsor to have on any champion's side.

BIOGRAPHY

Caroline has never known her mother, nor does she really know what she was like. She died during childbirth and no one has ever taken it upon themselves to inform the young girl of what her mother was like or even relay happy stories of her life. Instead, Beatrice Tidewalter, is known only by her daughter to have possessed a fragile prettiness and an unusually strong sense of duty (or so her father told her). Only these traits and actions which followed as a result are what Caroline has to model herself from. Her nursemaid, the woman who raised her from a baby to a young child, was an empty shell. Without the warmth of love; without a soul. Although she and Caroline should have naturally created a strong bond, it became apparent that the nursemaid was no more than another piece of furniture within the house. Her father was delighted to have realised this fact and soon dismissed the maid when she had served her purpose. It was from the age of five that her life was to be placed solely within the hands of her wealthy, yet ever greedy, father.

Education, education, education. Languages, history, geography, rhetoric, horse riding, music, literature, all these things and more were taught to this young woman to a high degree. It was an intellectually difficult process and required much work and determination on her part. It was her father who pushed her on, relentlessly, so that she might be one of the most well educated women and, in turn, she would be one of the most attractive brides. Before these plans were truly set in motion a suitor, vastly richer than Tidewalter himself, asked for Caroline's hand when she reached of age. This proposal may have been accepted, but her father had far greater plans for his daughter. While she studied he took her out to various forms of entertainment. The opera, for example, plays and even fighting tournaments. It was the latter which he sought to plant in the heart of his daughter and he encouraged her, with soft words, to have a fondness for such sport and for the victors. You see, there is only one man that Caroline might marry to top her current suitor - the most powerful of champions to emerge from The Games. It is for that reason alone that her father has allowed her to attend the tournament, though she is quite unaware of that fact. Her guardian, on the other hand, has some inclination that her father wishes her to seduce whoever emerges as the winner for the sake of power and wealth.

Her small gift of pseudo-healing was quietly cultivated. It was a secret kept between herself and her guardian. However, recently when she has explored outside she has used her gift on other people such as the sick and injured. She could not heal them, but they were thankful for their suffering to be eased while they awaited treatment or death. It was this reaction to her acts of kindness which motivates her desire to help the warriors rather than simply watching the games.

PHYSICAL DETAILS

Caroline is a small girl, and easily overpowered, hence having a guardian. She is five foot, five inches tall and a mere seven stone heavy. A stunning single stone ring is always present on her engagement finger as a sign of her promised status.

TALENTS

Caroline has the ability to reduce or, on a good day, completely remove the feelings of pain and discomfort from someone. Stress, hunger, tiredness... things like this she can take away. WEAKNESSES

Her father's wrath: Throughout her life she has rarely made the mistake of upsetting or angering her father. When she does so the consequences are, to her, quite awful. He can take away her liberty. Remove her pretty clothes, take away her pets, burn her garden and has even cut off her hair. These are just some of the things which have happened in the past as a result of crossing her father. Has he ever raised a physical hand of violence against her? Not to any severe damage, but by taking away the things she loves and cares for the most he hurts her very deeply emotionally.

Strangers: As a child Caroline was taught that the people she did not know where not 'good people', by implication they were 'bad people'. Having spent most of her life in her grand home filled with all she could ask for, Caroline has never truly been alone in the outside world. Like many young ladies she visits the opera but always accompanied by her father. When she wishes to go out when her father does not, Caroline is entrusted to her guardian who shadows her constantly. The message that she was not harmed by strangers because she has always had a guardian has been enforced throughout her life.
