What would a mother do for her child?
XXXWhat lengths would a mother not have?
Lady Crimson
Lady scowled at the young man; nose crinkled.
"Of course not- I'm asking for a ballpark estimate so that I can have something to go off when I go speak with the Orc-...I'm actually be more concerned if you did know-" Lady began; bared her teeth - though it was not directed so much as Sora or Jun but more as to the general state of her distress.
"And I don't make it easy - he just is the sort that is a total monster." She hissed...before she frowned.
"....I don't think he'd last too long in our world; to be honest..." Even at the musings; her eyes didn't leave the child- At least...not until Sora spoke up again.
Don't worry about coin?- What was she about to- And Lady watched...and felt a small smirk grow. Ah- so that was her plan. Well; Lady applosed it; showing the rough crowd here a solid bit of force worked well for their reputation.
It continued to show them all that the Drakes weren't to be trifled with.
No; this would help them more really-
Lady visible to anyone paying that close of attention to her visibly relaxed as Sora spoke with the woman and a breath escaped her; audible to Jun as the boy latched onto Sora the moment she finished exchanging words with the Orc. Seemed the boy would be safe - for now anyway.
She stood when Sora came back over and shoved the kid in their direction. "Easy-" She murmured, reaching out to catch hold and steady of the boy before he could stumble against table or fall to the floor- And a tiny smile ghosted her lips; even as her eyes flicked over him in concern and worry.
"Yeah; let's get you outside at the very least." She murmured, standing.
"And even if they did change their minds; we'd quickly make sure they didn't have a mind to change shortly there after..."
She didn't seem all that sussed at the thought of gaining a child for the time being.
Lady moved her arms as Jun draped his cloak about the child- she moving to guard the boy from the other side while they left. She didn't repeat Jun's 'sweet' words; instead simply lazily letting a sharp gaze fall over any watching them. A warning - a blatant truth that if anyone came near- she wasn't afraid to deal with them...
And then they were outside - going to Jun's cart and once there Lady knelt a bit; giving the boy a gentle smile as her party's claric presented him with the rations..before she straightened; hand on her sword.
"Mhm...that we do. Firstly; the boy?....I have Rose Hollow that I could send him to. Hawkeye knows the way-" She said; nodding to her horse before giving the boy a long; steady look. He was an older boy: Unlikely to be adopted but then...her home wasn't really an adoption home either. It was for those without a place to go and this child....he'd be welcome to stay for as long as he wished-
"Beyond that - I traveled ready to work. ... Tybalt's never given us kind tasks before; so-...at the least; I'd have to pick up perhaps some more rations so the boy has something to eat while he's traveling - unless we work quickly with this.....task." Task - so she could distant herself as far from it emotionally as possible. It was just a task. A chore. Nothing more....
"As for the task itself...perhaps a surprise attack in the night; while they're guard is down. They're still fresh and new to this land; they won't know all the dangers they'll have to be on constant vigilance for- We could go in, shake up the others, take care of the DM and leave them to wallow. The world will swallow up the rest easily enough; I'm sure..." Lady murmured, voice thick and tight..before she cleared her throat; shook her head slightly and eyed the boy once more.
"...do you have a home to go back to; kid?...What's your name?" Lady asked softly.
