It was early morning, for the sun was just barely rising and yet a girl with long blond hair was already wide awake and moving about the Ravenclaw common room. The fire was bright in her chocolate eyes, causing them to sparkle and dance with each flame that caught them. From afar it would appear as if the girl was simply pacing, but in truth she was playing a game with herself. The rules were simple, say a different word with each step she took, though as the game dragged on, the harder it became for the girl to play it and she soon found herself standing completely still, rocking back and forth on her feet. She had been playing the game since much earlier in the morning and had though she was known for being an early riser, she had awoken much too early, for it had only be a few hours since she had fallen asleep that she had awoke. Sighing the girl looked down at her feet, which were still rocking over the carpet and began to speak to herself, her voice a loud whisper in the silent room.
"Okay Skylar, you've run out of words, time to sit down and do a little more writing." There was a pause here as if she was contemplating this action before she began to speak again, this time her voice seemed to complain, though her words seemed to make no sense.
"But I can't move from this spot until I think of more words. Unless i give up the game and just go write...Yes, that is a great idea, I have been playing it for such a long time." Skylar said as she began to walk towards the nearest desk that was, for such an early time in the morning was a complete mess. She took a seat, picked up her quill and began to write. However the writing soon turned into a doodle and the doodle soon turned into a picture, the like of which made no sense. It started out as words, then became a person, and then evolved into some sort of animal.
After awhile of writing Skylar was joined by laughter and the sounds of other people from upstairs, meaning that the others had awoke and would soon be entering and exiting the common room to head to breakfast. Sighing she stood up and collected the papers from the table, stuffing them the satchel that was sitting on the floor. She then headed out of the common room and towards the Great hall. She took the long way, avoiding the larger staircases and hallways as not to run into crowds, even though it was still really early in the morning, as she headed down stairs. Skylar arrived at the Great Hall along with a few others and quickly took a seat at the Ravenclaw table. It was the same seat that she had been sitting at since her first day at Hogwarts, and she never moved from the spot, unless of course someone else sat there first, which is uncommon and very rarely happens. After spotting a House Elf in the corner Skylar waved at it, a bright and goofy smile on her face, it waved back before quickly hurrying to continue it's job.
"Poor little elf. I wonder if he ever gets a break?" Skylar questioned aloud as she sat there, waiting for breakfast to begin. From her bag she pulled an old magazine, it was crinkled and almost destroyed, it had been given to her by her mother and was called The Quibbler, it was quite interesting, it talked of Nargles and Crumple-Horned Snorkacks. Supposedly it was written by the Lovegood family, which made it even better in Skylar's book.
