scout ☆ jaeden ☆ vega !
the one who came back
- Laying down in the park, with Kotah at her side, Scout couldn't think of any place that she would rather be. It was beautiful outside and she was spending time with someone who was easily one of her favorite people in the world. What more could she possibly ask for? Ever since she'd moved back into the country, she'd been visibly happier for the most part, save for a few moments. It just felt so good to be back home and around the people that she'd grown up with and her family, more specifically Aunt Harlow. A lot had changed since she'd moved, people had left, gotten jobs, more people came to town, and things along those lines. It was strange to see, but she was adjusting back to life their rather quickly, especially since she'd only been back for a little bit over a week. The blonde had managed to get quite a bit accomplished during that time though. She'd unpacked her apartment, worked a few shifts at her Aunt's cafe, reconnected with Kotah and finally confessed the fact that she'd always had feelings for him. It was safe to say that she had been busy, which was part of the reason that it was so nice to just lay down with him and watch the clouds. For the first time in the last few days, they could just laugh and be silly, and try to keep their minds off of Rowan. Being around him was one of the most natural things in the world, seeing as she'd spent a good portion of her life being best best friends with them, and only a slightly shorter period of time having feelings for him. Things were never really awkward with him, and the good memories definitely outweighed the bad. She could only hope that things would stay that way, because she honestly didn't know what she would do without him. This last week had made her realize how much she'd truly missed him, even if she hadn't gotten the chance to see him very much because of Rowan.
Hopefully the situation with Rowan would be changing soon, but that seemed to be more wishful thinking than anything. Things couldn't stay bad forever though, that much she was sure of. After every rain comes a rainbow, right? It was a rather cliche and well, stupid, saying in Scout's opinion, but it fit. Hearing him, she nodded. "Of course." She replied, nodding. Even if things would be going slow, at least they were going somewhere, and for once, in the right direction. They drifted apart terribly when she'd had to move, but things seemed to be a million times better now that she was back, even if their situation wasn't ideal. She'd rather have him and rough times than not having him at all. If he'd continued to be mad at her like he had been earlier, she really wasn't sure what she would have done. Kotah hating her wasn't something she thought that she would really be able to handle, not when he was one of the few people that she had left in her hometown. Out of everyone that had stayed, he was easily the one that the girl was closest to, and it would've hurt terribly to lose him. Glancing over, she caught his eye and smiled.
When Kotah's arm wrapped around her waist, her smile widened, as she stared up at the sky, watching the clouds. It was so nice to just do nothing for once. No shifts at the cafe, no unpacking, no dealing with Rowan, just spending time with him. She planned to enjoy it to the fullest because she had no clue when she'd get the chance to spend time like this with him. If his psychotic ex-girlfriend had any say in things, it'd probably be quite some time. They had a rough few months ahead of them, or maybe even longer, but he seemed just as determined as she did to make it out of this. While she was in London, she didn't really get into any serious relationships. She dated a couple of guys, sure, but nothing ever lasted very long, except for one. Knowing that she would be coming back home when she graduated was a thought that was always able to keep a smile on her face. Although Kotah was a large part of the reason that she wanted to come back home, but he wasn't the only one. Even though many of her friends had moved away for college, there were still quite a few that stuck around and it was good to be around them again. Then there was her aunt and a few other assorted family members in town as well. All in all, it was better to be home than to be around just her parents and a few friends that she had managed to make in the two years that she was in London. It wasn't that hard to leave them, seeing as they didn't really know each other very well anyway. As for her parents, they promised to visit occasionally and it wasn't like she had the best relationship with her mother anymore. Hearing him say that they would stick together no matter what happened with Rowan, she smiled. Even though they didn't know what her news was, she felt confident that they could handle it. "I like the sound of that." She replied, referring to the last part.
"That makes two of us then." Scout honestly didn't know what she'd do without Kotah. Before the last two years when she'd been away, he'd always been a constant in her life. Whenever anything happened, he was always there. It was nice to know that she could count on him again like she had before. Resting her head on his chest, she smiled as he ran his fingers through her hair. "I don't think I can say this enough, but I'm so incredibly happy to be back and that we worked things out." She said, looking over at him. It was the absolute truth. She wasn't sure what she would do if he'd continued to hate her like he had at the party earlier. That wasn't exactly one of her best memories with him. Before Kotah even said who was calling him, she had a sinking suspicion that it was Rowan. Things were going too good at the moment, so of course she had to attempt to ruin it, even if she wasn't there. The blonde just rolled her eyes and sighed, wondering when the other girl would just give up. "Some people just don't know when to cut their losses and move on. She never deserved you anyway. Well, it's not like I really do either but..." She began to trail off, but all of the doubts that she had were soon far from her mind as Kotah kissed her. She kissed him back, thankful for the distraction and happy just to be with him again.
