Halloween had always been a busy time of the year around Cawthra Parks, mainly due to the annual Haunted House fundraiser. Some students dreaded it and chose not to get involved, but Alaska Fitz certainly wasn't one of them. Halloween had always been one of her favorite holidays ever since she was a child. When she was younger, it'd been a chance for her to dress up and go trick or treating, but as she'd gotten older, it'd become a time to go to parties and watch scary movies, while still eating a ridiculous amount of sweets. She was a rather creative person, always working on some project or another (often more than she was capable of managing), and it had proved impossible for her resist the chance to help out with the hallway ever since her first year at the performing arts school. Every department seemed to be trying to outdo the others, but the senior was determined to make the music department's hallway look the best that it possibly could. It was her last year at the school after all, she had to make it count.

Senior year was proving to be beyond stressful for Alaska. She'd always been extremely dedicated when it came to practicing, but she'd been pushing herself harder and harder over the last few months. If she had any hope of getting signed, she had to be the best could possibly be and that just wouldn't happen without practice. Growing up with a father in the music industry had taught her not to be naive about her chances, especially without his help, but that didn't stop her from trying. A career in music was her dream and she wasn't about to give it up without a fight. Despite her hectic schedule, she still made time to do things like helping with the hallway.

Decorating the hallway was precisely why the girl found herself at school on a Sunday evening. It seemed like they were just about ready to wrap up, seeing as Halloween was the next day and they were pressed for time. Things had been going relatively smoothly and they'd been making a good deal of progress on it, until it was brought to everyone's attention that they were lacking when it came to cobwebs. Deciding to remedy this, she'd taken Kurt, one of her best friends, along with her to get some more. The task hadn't taken long seeing as there was a party store not far from the school and it wasn't long before they found themselves at the front door that they were supposed to be using to get in and out.

With the bag in one hand, she reached to open the door with the other, only to find that it was locked. Alaska cursed under her breath, trying it again, as if it would somehow magically unlock. "Well, this is just fantastic." Pulling out her phone, scrolled through her contacts until she got to Bria and pressed send. She knew the dancer was around school somewhere, helping out with her own department's hallway, but hopefully she could take a break to let the pair inside. She tapped her foot impatiently, waiting for her best friend to pick up. The pair had been nearly inseparable ever since they met in elementary school and had to work on a performance together. While Bria had a talent for dancing, she was more suited for singing and playing guitar, however they did share a competitive nature. Seeing as they were in different departments, they never had to work to try to outdo each other, meaning things worked out perfectly. After what seemed like an eternity, she finally got Bria's voicemail, signalling that it was time for her to give up. Sighing, she shoved her phone into her back pocket. "No answer from Bria," She explained, sounding a bit frustrated.

"Unless you have any brilliant ideas on how to get inside, I think the hallway's going to have to go without a few more cobwebs." Even though she wanted their hallway to be the best, she had a feeling that it'd still look just fine without the additional cobwebs. She tended to be a perfectionist, but after working on it for hours on a Sunday evening, even she was about ready to be done with it.
