The room was still and quiet as Sebastian rolled over, smiling to himself.
Though the last 24 hours had been a complete emotional s**t show, he was actually pretty content. Sure, the love of his life had stood him up at the alter with a last minute text message that she wasn't coming and couldn't do it.
Or the one a few hours later about how she had found someone else and was now engaged to her.
Sebastian was old fashioned, sure. But he wasn't ignorant or misguided. If it made Alice happy, then it made her happy. Still, it didn't stop the bitter sting that his fiancee had left him for someone else, let alone another woman. He supposed the signs had been there, but he had tried making the relationship work regardless because he was madly in love with her.
Unfortunately she hadn't felt the same way back.
Though it sucked majorly, and he did feel a bit heartbroken and betrayed, memories of the night before started filtering through his mind.
He had met a girl, he recalled somewhat, after losing track of Theo somewhere in one of the bars. Someone had the bright idea to do a pub crawl, but no one bothered to be the designated sober one, so no wonder they all ran off like drunk toddlers.
From what he was slowly remembering, Bastian had hit it off with this girl. A smile that reminded him of the sun, the mischievous glint in her eyes that made him curious. A body like pow.
Honestly, she ticked off every box on his mental checklist, though it wasn't long or detailed. He was a simple guy with simple needs.
Moving again, the dirty blond groaned softly. There was the aching throb in his head now, as the blond started coming too more and more. Just how much did he drink last night? Apparently a little to much it seemed.
It probably didn't help that he had a hard time expressing his emotions. It wasn't easy for Sebastian sometimes. Though his parents loved him, they hadn't been very forthcoming with their feelings and the like, so he learned to internalize a lot.
Fortunately, he's learning to do better. But it takes time.
A soft start came to the blond as he felt something warm move beside him. Instinctively, Sebastian pulled it closer, smiling as all other thoughts began to turn into sleepy nothings. Though his mind began to kick back into gear realizing he was not alone and he was holding onto them.
Vague flashes of the girl from before came to his mind, as did some highlights of the nights activities. He wasn't a sleaze by any means, but he wasn't about to jump up and tell whoever this was to get out. No, he'd treat her to breakfast, ask her how she was doing and if she needed to get home any time soon. Make a proper date out of the day.
He owed whoever this was that much.
As his brain began to kick into gear, the young blond gave his companion a soft squeeze, nuzzling his face into her hair, breathing in slowly. "Mmmm, you smell good," he mumbled sleepily.
He had done this with his ex a lot, and she had hated it. Sebastian couldn't help that he was actually big on cuddling and he rather enjoyed it. Though he was aware this wasn't his ex, mainly because she had never smelled this nice before. She smelled like apples and wild flowers. He liked that scent.
Beside him, he felt his partner moving around a little. Cue for him to let go. Moving back, the blond rubbed his face, yawning as he sat up. Pausing as he felt something knew in place, he blinked, looking down at his hand.
A wedding ring?
Right then a cold stab of realization hit him. A rough memory from the night before. "Holy s**t," he whispered, not sure what to make of this, "I'm married?"
Swallowing thickly, he glanced at his bedmate, brows raised. How in the hell had this happened?
