Well, Dragon Ball Super has been out over the summer, as well as the two movies it's based on, and some people think it's worse than GT (I absolutely love it, though) so maybe them not liking it is making DBZ more popular.

i watched it as a kid but i decided recently to start over from dragon ball and watch it all in succession to i can have a better understanding of whats goin on

when i was a kid i spent all my allowance on nothing but dbz stuff
my room be looking like a little boys room. i had action fingers taped to the ******** wall
ALL THE POSTERS
a million dbz shirts
******** bed sheets, blankets, pillows

dbz was my ******** s**t
i'd come home to watch the next episode all fkn excited and s**t i remember literally sitting on the edge of my seat (couch) all like
