smoking, that is.

In the grand scheme of things I haven't been smoking for long (2 years consistently?) but I had a big motivation to quit this weekend. I got my chest kind of crushed and for two days I felt like I couldn't take a full breath. That was awful! So of course I didn't smoke then, but now I need to make an effort to kick it for good.

I smoked the last cig in my pack yesterday afternoon, and I haven't bought another. Tips for me?
Right now Im just trying to make it less available, and Im going to try not to drink so I wont start bumming

the only real way of effectively stopping is really wanting to, I think
you can do it though
smoking isn't even that good really it's kind of pointless and a waste of money if you think about it

I've always thought the rubber band method to quitting was really nice.



Rubber band?


Place a few rubber bands around your wrist. When you get the urge to smoke
pull them back and pop yourself. It does hurt a lot but I've never seen it not work.
Sounds extreme but that simple popping and pain does a lot less than smoking does at the end.
You'll need to commit though to popping so then it's like i want to smoke but i know that
pop will hurt and you might just back down.

There's also the method of sealing one pack of them in a clear container and sitting them
right next to where you usually are. Make the container hard to get into so when you have the urge
there's a chance you'll either give up trying or relax enough naturally that before you get
in the urge has passed.

i find the best method is just to not talk about it and move on. idk i've taken to smoking only on special occasions. i smoke maybe 2 packs a year.
The hardest thing for me personally is after a stressful day and the tv puts nothing but those stupid anti smoking ads on and its like WTF now i wanna smoke lol.

I literally broke down when I realized 1/3 was half of 2/3. And cried until I was sober. 0/10, do not want.
