i don't know if i've just a very wide range of interest, or if i've just managed to only pick up good manga, but i've liked pretty much everything i've read (except FLCL- since i couldn't make heads or tails of it..) -some of them might be a bit slow in the beginning, but they get better eventually, after a couple of volumes read..
my favorites are usually my yaoi ones though, since- yaoi got excellent humor, that you just can't apply to other kinds of things, in my opinion .w.
going by the things i've read that's not yaoi though;

my absolute favorite, out of what i've read thus far, is Immortal Rain, or Meteor Methuselah as it's also called, i like the art, the little bit of romance in there is just adorable and in the perfectly right places, there's a bit of nice action in there too, and some downright creepy parts, but it got everything i like in a story,
13 volumes long, tokyopop only translated eight into english, which makes me sad since i don't read online _xp

and usually there's some kind of very sad bo-hoo parts in manga, but in Vampire Doll Guilt-Na Zan, those are incredibly rare, and i think all but one of them has a happy ending- sort of,
mighty vampire lord gets revived after some hundred years -and the person doing it sticks this powerful vampire lord into a wax-doll, looking like a cute girl.
it's hilarious, six volumes long, got some really cute stuff in there, and my favorite chapters/parts are the Starry Starry night story .w.

i'd recommend CLAMP's Tsubasa Chronicles and XXXholic- since the stories of those two works weave together, importing objects and people from previous works of CLAMP- so they're really fun and interesting if you've read anything else of them- though, of course, since it's CLAMP- there's bound to be some sad, depressing, and creepy parts _|3

Wish, and Angelic Layer are also nice works from CLAMP,
Wish is more of a cute... don't know if i'd call it a love story, but it's definitively something about relations, very nice, and cute, fun at times- 4 volumes, i tihnk Angelic Layer was 5 or 7 volumes..

Stray little devil, more towards a yuri/harem manga, but i read it, it's nice, five or if it was six volumes if i remember right

Judas- is a good manga, five volumes long, story is pretty interesting, and the character judas himself is a bit of a plotting d*ck .w.

Angel Diary- thirteen volumes long, the princess of heaven has run away from home since she doesn't want to marry the son of the devil, their parents decided they would marry. the story also involves the four guardians, supposed to protect the princess, two of them are her longtime friends and the other two have been on earth and working as exorcists- lots of humor, lots of seriousness, and a bunch of interesting characters in there- i love the plot twists in it, but the ending was a happy ending for everyone~!
-thirteen volumes long

Demon Diary, same illustrator as the one above, it's a kind of cute story about a demon prince and his tutor, trying to teach him to become a cruel demon lord but the prince is very squeamish, to the point he once had a nightmare about tomatoes bleeding-... the knight who goes to his castle to kill him ends up being his friend, same with another invader supposed to take him down, some interesting plot twists in this one too, it's nice .w.

Natsume's Book of friends, is also a favorite read, though it's not finished yet,

Vampire Hunter D- i think the manga has been released in 6 or 7 volumes translated to english..


-hahah, i havn't read much manga in a while, and all of the ones i mentioned here- i haven't read for more than two years, might be 3-4 years, so i don't remember everything about the story and plots .w.'

i mean, i could probably name another 20-30 series i've read that i like really much, but as i said- i havn't read much in a pretty long time, so i don't remember everything about them ^_^''

like Devil Ororon- i remember the name, i remember the art and that a guy pulled his eye out, but not much more than that- but i sort of remember it was pretty good _x3
