A Newbie's Guide to Gaia Online
Welcome to Gaia Online! We're a large site, so we're sure you have a lot of questions about how to get started! In this brief guide we'll attempt to answer some of the most commonly asked questions from new users like you!
What is there to do on Gaia Online?
The short answer: lots! Here are some of our favorite things to do on Gaia.
1. Go shopping for items, and then dress up your avatar!
2. Post on the forums and meet people with common interests!
3. Win prizes playing awesome games like Lake Kindred!
4. Hang out in our virtual environments like Towns 2!
5. Earn achievements for exploring the site!
How do I get more gold?
There are a lot of ways to earn gold on Gaia Online!
One of the fastest, easiest ways to get gold is actually by buying items from the cash shop and selling them on the marketplace! You can purchase Gaia Cash here. Once you have the item you want to sell, you will need to get your trading pass from the first page of the marketplace. Then simply to go the marketplace, hover over the marketplace tab, and click sell item. Here is a direct link to the page where you can sell items.
Another way is simply by playing some of our games! You might want to try Lake Kindred, one of our most popular ones!
If you'd like to ask older members to give you some gold to help you get started, visit the Charity Forum!
You also get a small amount of gold just for browsing, posting, and taking polls on our site. If you decide to spam the forums for gold, please do so in the Chatterbox!
How do I get awesome clothing for my avatar?
After you accumulate some gold, you can go shopping in Gaia's shopping district! Or, if you want to go after discounts and rare items, try the marketplace!
If you want to see the many different items and try them on all in one place, we recommend taking a peek at our Avatar Builder, which lets you create 'dream avatars' or avatars that you would one day like to equip for everyone to see!
Where should I post?
