Soccer is a perfectly fine word. The Brits who invented the sport were the ones who actually coined the term. It comes from the word "association" (the full name of the sport is Association Football). Also, Americans and Canadians aren't the only ones to use it. Australia has Aussie Rules Football that is far more popular and therefore they use Soccer as well. Here's a link with a map of what countries call Association Football in their country:

Football vs. Soccer Map

This whole "don't call it Soccer" argument is tired, we should just celebrate our mutual love for the sport rather than arguing over semantics!

I concur with one of these.

I have Italian ancestry (great grandfather was an Italian immigrant) and I support the Italian national team, and I support A.C. Milan in domestic play.

Unfortunately I do not have much coverage of the sport outside of MLS, considering I live in Louisiana.

I live in California, but always record my team games. I tried watching MLS but they lack that passion that Europeans have. Excellent choice on AC Milan wink
You do realized what had happened to Ac Milan over the years right? Two or three years ago they were so good, passing and movement were terrific.Fast forward to 2014 they been knocked out of Italian cup competitons, frequently losing at home to weaker sides etc.So sad for such a good team with a brilliant historic past sad
