Dear GaiaUser,

For the past two days, Gaia has been experiencing problems with our network equipment due to the server migration. We sincerely apologize for the outages due to the equipment failures. We understand that it is fustrating to have service interruptions and bugs and we are doing all that we can to debug all the existing problems that were reported.

Please note that most of the instability issues were not caused by the addition of new features. All of the problems were actually caused by the implementation or changes of a new Gaia network that will allow us to serve more users without a decrease in quality of service.

Though there were bugs during these system changes and migration, almost all the bugs and quirks had been worked out at this point. Without these changes, Gaia will not be able to grow, and the critical errors will only get worse. Now with the new system in place. Once the database has been optimized, site expansion will be smooth and connection errors will be kept to a minimum, if not, an issue of the past.

We thank you for your patience during all the changes and migration. The end of the alpha testing phase should come within the next two months, right before we introduce the battle system.

Therefore, we selected a few people to test out the new beta. Please help us by testing out the new beta, if you come around problems and suggestions we would be pleased if you fill in the feedbackform , feedback@anihq.com.

Yours, The GaiaOnline Team

Sounds like a scam... But you should ask a moderator(green) about it...

Please do not make duplicate threads.
sounds scammish :\
But isn't gaia email gaia@anihq.com?

*checks*

EDIT: Yea i got one from webadmin@anihq.com 3nodding
I think it sounds legitamit(sp?) but I could be wrong.
it sounds like a scam......but they managed to duplicate the e-mail...

But like the admins and the mods said, once gaia goes beta it's gonna be a gaia wide thing, posted in the announcement....

Besides, before the battle system there's Gaia housing and Gaia fishing......
i'm ALMOST inclined to agree that its a scam, but it doesn't ask for a password or money...probably just a l33t h4x0r trying to sound cool...
No, it's a scam :O This was a popular scam letter a few months ago. A lot of people lost their accounts because they signed into this fake "beta."

If you look in one of the older Anoucements, they copy it word for word..save for the beta note.

Well first off gaiaonlinebeta.com doesn't exist.

Second I'm not sure if it's possible to dummy up an email addres so that it appears to send from another place.

And Third, I don't think they're asking for your password or anything so even if it is a scam...it's the worst scam of all time.

And Finally, the admins have said (at least to my recollection) that when Beta goes live it goes live for everyone.

It is possible to make it seem like an e-mail comes from a certain user.

That is a fake e-mail. Gaia beta will be announced here in Gaia itself. The entire population of Gaia will beta-test it.

I don't think gaiaonlinebeta is even a registered address. ^^;

but how does it work? they don't get anything from it! isn't a scam supposed to get the scammer something?

Note they stole the exact wording from this anoucement.

The scam involves having someone sign into a fake beta, in which the scammer records and steals the password you used.

It is possible that the person who sends the e-mail simply wants to fool people. Or they may have plans to register gaiaonlinebeta.com and then set up a fake log-in by which they can steal user's passwords.

Either way, old, fake e-mail.
Do not log into that!
It's an old scam they save your password and steal all your items.
