Welcome to Gaia! ::

Adorable Strawberry

I have no complaints that the site has ads. They bring in revenue for the site. But I do not like these auto play ads that start shouting the second they load. I dont want noisy ads. They do not promote the product. all i can tell you currently is ill never buy an Iams product ever. Not that I bought them in the first place. Ads, ok. Shouting out and blaring disturbing my peace making it necessary to mute my speakers to use the site in peace is not ok. its as bad as telemarketers are in my book.

Ad block is my best recommendation for the time being. They tend to not care much about what is advertised on here, unless it is something that they actually risk getting in trouble for (porn, naked people in the ads, etc.) I agree, I hate the screaming ads. They are obnoxious. I just don't see Gaia doing anything about it just because it annoys some users, especially when they get money for it. I mean, they kind of have a habit of doing things that piss of users for the sake of getting money.

Well I didnt think they would care to do anything but I had to put my two cents in. I also went to Iams facebook and gave them a harsh word aswell since it was their ad. I've considered ad block but I dont spend much money on this site as it is. But if the auto play video ads with loud noise continue I just might go that route.

Magnetic Phantom

I very much agree.
As long as they can't be bothered to make sure that their ads don't carry malware and aren't obnoxious (autoplay, noise, pop-ups and redirects all come to mind) and aren't interfering with the site's content (there have been complaints about ads blocking parts of the dress up page, for example), it's no wonder that users keep blocking their ads.

Lonely Dragon

Gaia's adverts have always been troublesome. I'm all for supporting sites via allowing adverts through Adblock, but the ones on Gaia have caused all sorts of problems.
