Forty-five years have passed since the Second Wizarding War, forty-five years since the day that Harry Potter finally defeated his greatest enemy. Any remaining Death Eaters and other followers of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named have long since been locked up securely in Azkaban, giving a sense of peace and closure to those wizarding families who lost loved ones to the battle. And while it took a few years before everyone truly began feeling secure again, things in the magical world have never been safer.

One generation has passed through the halls of Hogwarts since then, the children of those who attended through the years of Lord Voldemort's return and fall. And now it is their children who have been accepted into the school that has been described by many as "the best school of witchcraft and wizardry there ever was." The teachers are all mostly new as well- some, as fresh faced as the students and eager to teach; the rest, ones that have been hired a few years back but just as excited to have been brought on.

The mood has never been more peaceful, and it is bound to be a great year.

• follow the tos.
• keep it pg13. this is a magical school, so no sex. the paintings might tell.
• no godmodding, please. that should be a given.
• this is a semi-lit, lit rp, so try to post at least two paragraphs.
• and try to post at least twice a week.
• tell me in advance if you'll be gone, if possible.
• keep the special attributes in your oc to a minimum. not everyone has veela blood and is a werewolf.
• also I would prefer for no one to have canon last names. no potters, weasleys, or malfoys please.
• no ooc posts in the thread unless accompanied with an ic post.
• quoting is fine as long as the text inside is erased.
• pm all reserves and profiles to me. don't post them in the thread.
• these rules can be added to at any time.

• students should be in uniform at all times while on hogwarts grounds.
• students may dress casually during hogsmeade trips.
• students may not have electronics of any kind while at hogwarts.
• absolutely no alcohol or tobacco is permitted.
• curfew is nine pm on weekdays, ten pm on weekends. failure to be in the dorms at that time will result in deduction of house points.
• no magic outside of school or in the halls, unless for class purposes.
• students may not enter a house other than the one they have been sorted into.
• entering the dormitory of the opposite sex is forbidden.
• faculty areas are off limits to students without express permission by a teacher or faculty member.
• the forbidden forest and black lake are also off limits.
• students may not leave hogwarts grounds without permission from the headmaster/headmistress, and must be collected by a parent.
