Twenty years have passed since Time Compression and the fall of Ultimacia. For fifteen years the world had lain in a tentative peace, recovering from the damage the evil Sorceress had wrought. That peace was shattered five years ago with the rise of a new Soceress among the ranks of the Timber resistance groups. With the aid of her powers, the resistance succeeded in pushing back the occupying forces of Galibadia, liberating themselves from foreign control. Unfortunatly for Timber, the Sorceress seized control of the fledgling government and declared herself Queen. In response to the Sorceress's declaration, many nations of the world took up arms against Timber.

Only Esthar and the Gardens have manged to stay neutral in the chaos. Squall Leonhart, Commander of SeeD and Headmaster of Balamb Garden, refuses to take any part in the war. The legendary knight works only to protect the citizens that are caught between the warring nations and so the Gardens have remained relatively safe.

Esthar takes on much of the same stance as the Gardens. Behind its barriers and with an army unlike any other, the country is as yet too powerful for Strega to take on. Laguna Lorie, now proclaimed King by his Parliament, stands as the only leader that speaks out against the war and petitions all the governments for peace. The Estharian King's efforts are fruitless as there has not been a cease fire in the five years since the war started.

In the once great nation of Galibadia, a dark sect has risen from the ashes of Ultimacia's destruction. A group of radical young warriors from across the globe have gathered in secret to plot the death of all Sorceresses and their Knights. Calling themselves Hyne's Hunters, the group believes the Sorceresses and Knights to be the root of all evil and war in the world. Wearing masks and red cloaks, the Hunters move in on their prey silently and quickly. The sect first made itself known seven years ago by kidnapping Rinoa Leonhart and her daughter, Raine Leonhart. They broadcast the torture of the famous Sorceress over hijacked channels until her eventual death. SeeD only arrived in time to save the young Raine Leonhart from the same fate as her mother.

In the most recent show of their zelous hate for all Sorceress and Knights, Hyne's Hunters have successfully assassinated yet another hero of the Time Compression; Squall Leonhart. On the twentieth anniversary of the defeat of Ultimacia there was a huge party in Balmb to celebrate the six heroes who saved the world. In the center of the celebration was Squall and his daughter, Raine. As Squall went to say his speech an assassin dressed as a SeeD attacked him from behind, stabbing him through the heart. The Knight fell, his life draining from him as his assassin turned to flee. The Hunter did not get far though, as Raine was quick to unleash a powerful spell that left little of the assassin to bury. Raine had managed to keep her powers secret from everyone but those in her family, but in that moment she had reveled them on public television.

With what little evidence the assassin had left behind, the Gardens surmised that the Sorceress Strega was behind the assassination. Hyne's Hunters do not enter their minds, as they are quick to take credit for any kill and have remained silent on Squall's death. With the threat of the Sorceress drawing ever closer the remaining four heroes send Raine to her Grandfather in Esthar to be protected. Retaliation is all the Gardens have in mind as they plan an attack on the Sorceress in Timber. With the daughter of their commander safe out of harms way they begin their own war with the sorceress...

I understand if you have a touch of writer’s block or there is not much for you to respond to, but try not to make short posts a habit. Also, grammar and spelling are important! No one wants to try and decipher what you are saying through bad spelling and terrible grammar. ◤ Keep things pretty clean, please! Cussing is allowed, but don’t use a curse word in every sentence. Since this is a fighting roleplay let’s remember not to get overly graphic with some stuff. If you are killing a person, don’t get into how their guts looked on the floor or whatnot. This isn’t really a romance rp, though some of it is welcome. It wouldn't be a story without some kind of romance, I suppose. Just keep that clean too, alright. Always keep the Gaia ToS in mind. ◢

◤ Okay, so here it goes. Remember that the canon heroes exist in this roleplay, but they are NOT the main focus. I will be listing them all in the NPC section, and they will be available for you to play. You will have to submit a sample writing as the canon character you chose so that I know you can play them correctly. Also, feel free to expand on the canon characters a bit. It has been twenty years, so there will be some changes in their lives, relationships and personalities. If you want one of the canon character to be more involved in the story then we can work it out.

Now, as for original characters. Pretty much anything goes. Your character can be from anywhere in the world you want them to be from. They can have any job or allegiance you want. If you want to make your character a child of one of the canon heroes you can. I will be setting a limit on how many kids each of the canon characters have. As for Sorceresses and Knights, I will only be allowing a few. Please be as creative as you can, the original characters are the main focus of the roleplay and will be at the center of the action! These will be the 'New Generation' of heroes.

Oh! And there will be a few special positions I need filled for each side. I will list them in each section, and each position will have a few character requirements. They are negotiable, so feel free to ask about anything you want to change. ◢

◤ Stay active, please! We all have lives outside of Gaia, but don’t post once and never come back. Don’t join if you can’t keep up with the pace of the story. So, please try and post 2-4 times per week. We all know how frustrating it is to be held up by one person not posting. Of course, you won’t be booted for not being able to post for one or two days. Just give us some warning or remove your character from any active conversations with more than one other person for extended absences. ◢

◤ There will be NO Godmodidng, auto-hitting or power playing here, alright. If your character is new to fighting then obviously he/she will not be beating someone like Sorceress Strega right away. Also, if there are two characters of debatable equal powers going head-to-head I want a good battle to take place. Not just a bunch of dodging and blocking. People need to take hits, alright! Nobody’s character is invincible, got that? Be inventive and, if you need to, discuss who is going to win before a fight takes place. If you want to be extra cool and just fight it out and see who is the better that way, then that is fine. Just don’t take twenty posts to come to a conclusion. Bad guy or not, be honorable and concede to defeat when it comes. No whining!

Another important point I want to make is that no one is to kill another character without permission. Also, do not run off with another person’s character without permission either. It irritates me, I know it irritates other people. So, if you are unsure if what you are doing is godmodding then just don’t do it, or ask permission.

Weapons - You will be allowed no more than two types of weapons per character. By this I mean, if you are primarily a sharpshooter then you can use whatever gun you can, and you can use a multitude if you want. If you so choose, you can have a backup weapon, like a dagger or something. Just don't have an arsenal hiding in your clothes.

Guardian Forces - Everyone will be limited to three GFs per character. There will only be one GF of each kind, so only one person can had Shiva. First come, first serve! I will list all the avilaluble GFs in the Profile Thread. Also, I will be allowing you to make your own GFs. The application for an original GF will be in the Application section.

Para-magic - For magic, everyone can have eight spells. Now, I want their to be a restriction to the area of magic you are good with. For instance, if you are a really good healer then you won't be that great with offensive magic. Give yourself areas of strength and weakness in the magic department. ◢

◤ Make your posts look nice, please. No bright colors that people will have to highlight to read or giant pictures that stretch the page. Use small fonts like 9 to 11, nothing smaller or bigger. Put all thoughts in 'italics+color'. Use “Color” for speech. And use 'italic' for writing. We want pictures, quotes and all the other good bits in your post outlines. Include something that states where your character is, which side they are on, and some other good bits like status and mood. ◢

◤ Once a broken nation under Galibadian occupation, Timber now flourishes under Strega's rule. The city has swelled to three times its original size in the last five years. This is largely due to the influx of people who are eager to be under the Sorceress's protection rather than on the receiving end of her ruthless army. Many of the original parts of the city have been abandoned by the new government in order to focus on building up the new parts of the city with better technology. Despite the war that wages at the boarders of its land, Timber itself appears peaceful on the surface. It is only in Old Timber that the real problems of crime, drugs and resistance still flourish. Most of Timber's citizens are grateful to be safe from the fighting, at least for now, but there are those who resent Strega's warmongering and so the old resistance groups continue to work against the Queen's reign. ◢

◤ Galibadia is a shell of its former self. No longer the shining city it once was, many of the shops, factories and other buildings have been converted into military strongholds and facilities to further the war effort. Every citizen that is seventeen or older is drafted into the army. What was once a powerful nation now stands on its last legs, fighting desperately to survive. Many citizens blame the Sorceresses for their plight and so they join the Hyne's Hunters for vengeance. ◢
