WWE Payback Discussion Thread

From what I've heard, the WWE really wants to put on a good show tonight since NXT Takeover did so well. If you didn't see it, you probably should. There were solid matches from top to bottom (well, from what I saw...I skipped the Rusev match), including a great women's match between Natalya and Charlotte, Tyson Kidd and Adrian Neville in a pretty strong technical match up, and a show stealing performance by Sami Zayn and Tyler Breeze. Rumor has it that the WWE thinks it'd be embarrassing to follow that up with a subpar PPV, which Payback generally is. So hopefully, we'll get something special tonight.

Here's the card as we know it:

Pre-show: El Torito vs. Hornswoggle in a Hair vs. Mask Match

Rusev vs. Big E

Bad News Barrett vs. Rob Van Dam for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

Sheamus vs. Cesaro for the WWE United States Championship

Paige vs. Alicia Fox for the WWE Divas Championship

Bray Wyatt vs. John Cena in a Last Man Standing Match

The Shield vs. Evolution in an Elimination No Holds Barred Match

Also, Daniel Bryan's decision regarding relinquishing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

As every pay-per-view, I pray to the Wrestling Gods *cough* JBL? *cough* that tonight is a good show. I've been really into wrestling again lately, and if NXT pulls off a better 1 hour show than a 3 hour main roster PPV, I'll be disappointed. One can only hope.

Just a note, Takeover was 2 hours. I mean, it's not like that matters too much, because the point is still valid, but they gave a decent amount of time for the matches...which is something the main roster usually doesn't get, even in PPVs. The only match on the main card that I see being a really solid match is Evolution vs. Shield. Sheamus and Cesaro have some potential as well.

I hope the WWE pulls off an amazing show tonight. I thought WrestleMania 30 and Extreme Rules were good, so if they can make this a good one, that'd be awesome.

I'm predicting Torito wins. Now way he's losing the mask and I've noticed when wrestlers start losing hair that they have and lose these hair matches. During Horny's entrance, he had some obvious hair loss to the front sides. I'm just glad Shawn Michaels didn't participate in such a match. Horny usually seems game for anything, so no doubt in my mind he'll be going bald tonight.
