WrestleMania XXVIII is fast approaching and wrestling fans are eager to see The Rock face off against John Cena in his first singles match in nine years. WrestleMania XXVIII has not even aired and already there is a lot of talk about WrestleMania XXIX, which the Garden State of New Jersey is hosting. The Rock has confirmed that he will be appearing at WrestleMania XXIX, but it's not known what role he will play. But there might be some indications that The Rock may face off against former WWE and UFC champion Brock Lesnar.

In a recent interview with MercuryNews.com, Rock sat down with Dan Gelston and spoke about various topics from WrestleMania, John Cena and Brock Lesnar. Gelston asked the rock a simple question; "How bout it: Brock vs. Rock for WrestleMania 29?"

To which Rock replied:

Quote:
"I'm not saying a thing, I didn't say anything."

According to Gelston, Rock laughed, smiled and raised an eyebrow when he commented. This of course has to be taken with a grain of salt, and is not set in stone. Although this would be a fantastic match for WrestleMania XXIX.The last time Rock and Lesnar met in a WWE ring was SummerSlam 2002, for the WWE Undisputed Championship. Rock lost the match and dropped the belt to Lesnar to put the rising star over, and to pursue his own budding movie career.

Wrestling fans will just have to wait and see if this simple comment will turn into a marquee match.

My personal opinion, I had just rewatched Summer Slam 2002 and I would be over the moon to see the rematch of rematches. Brock and Rock never really finished what they started and from what I've seen and heard, they are good friends so it would make sense for the two to begin a rivalry.

Though Brock Lesnar returning I'd say is still more likely to not happen then to but still, his arm may be twisted if he was promised a top feud like this one. Also, despite the fact I highly dislike John Cena, this would make an excellent rivalry. Super Cena would finally look like the underdog.

Fingers crossed this happens.

I disagree with this idea. The two guys aren't in the WWE anymore, so why give them their own match. I'm okay with Rock/Cena, because at least one of them still works for Vince, but giving two guys a match that would not benefit anyone in the WWE is just not good for business. However, if the two came back in separate matches to face current wrestlers, then I could get behind that.

Many people believe Brock may come back.

Brock is literally probably my favorite athlete of all time. I do believe the possibility is there. After Douchebag White [Dana White] said he can go wherever he wanted, after his last match in UFC which was completely unfair, where Lesnar was injured [moving on], I can see him going to WWE now.

He seems in good terms with Vince. [WWE -12]

I get what you're saying but to say no one would benefit from it would be a mistake. For starters, the money this match could generate would mean WWE benefits.

I do get what you mean about two guys not really with the WWE bit and I agree but if Lesnar is back for the long haul (or at least a year or two) then surely this is a match that should happen. Lesnar is an excellent monster of a heel and it's something the company lacks right now.

When I say no one, I mean any of the wrestlers who busted their a** all year so they could watch two guys who don't even work for the company take another spot in Mania over them. The WWE would make money regardless, though I don't think it'd make as much as you think it would. But it'd be better for the company to use the older, more popular guys to help establish the newer talent...something they haven't done (establishing new talent) since they started riding the John Cena Express.

Undertaker vs. Triple H.

True they are still technically with the company. Except Undetaker had no matches all year while Triple H had like 3.

So while I personally won't care about a Rock vs. Brock Match, some might.

I don't really care for that one either. And yeah, I'm not saying "fans won't care." I'm just saying that giving the spot for guys who have officially left to have a match that will have no bearing on the rest of the company won't mean as much in the long run like a match with a current wrestler would.

I doubt that Brock Lesnar will ever come back. After his last fight in the UFC, his health was in question. He's gonna be safe about like Edge did with his condition and leave those days behind.

You know that's not what he meant. stare

Dark matches did nothing to advance any sort of feud Triple H had. So what's your point, really? neutral

They do, but keep in mind that dark matches don't really advance plot.

Hell so did I! I've been waiting for her to answer with something humorous. Guess I'm not getting that now though. burning_eyes

What? he wasn't injured for that fight he was healed way before fight hence why he was able to fight in the first place it came out of his own mouth in the pre fight interviews leading up to it that he's in the best shape of his life.
