I don't know. I may or may not be able to watch it, since I'm a Dish customer, and they decided to go angry 3 year old over the WWE Network.
You could always join us down on the thin area of flowing water, if you catch my drift...
Not a fan of the practice, I'll admit. But I guess I can blame Dish for it.
I've kinda been expecting them to retract the decision, with all the s**t they're catching for it. But even as I posted a message about it on their FB page, with 2 separate replies from Dish representatives, it seems they're truly sticking to their guns.
The worst part? They're claiming that it's on OUR behalf...
The convo:
Me
I've been a faithful DISH customer since roughly 2006. I've never had a problem with your services, until now. Why in God's holy name would you suddenly, unceremoniously drop support for WWE fans like myself?
I get it. You're mad about the WWE Network. So why then do you screw over the fans who have chosen to stay on the side that allows YOU to continue to profit? All around ridiculous business move, and whoever was involved in the decision, should be fired. Immediately.
At this point, I'm afraid I must inform you that I'm now considering myself open to negotiations with other service providers. This is NOT how you do business...
DishNetwork
Angel, we understand your concern with this. DISH continues to provide a variety of WWE programming, including WWE Raw on USA, WWE Smackdown on Syfy, WWE Main Event on Ion and WWE Total Divas on E!. At this time, WWE pay-per-view events are not available on DISH. -Brad T.
Some guy named Justin
It doesn't matter that you "offer" a variety of WWE programming. The #WWEChamber PPV is tomorrow, and you are refusing to allow your customers to order/watch it because of pettiness. So, I guess DISH just likes to throw money away, and upset their customers. I've been a loyal customer for years, but like many now I will either switch my service or cut the cord altogether now. It's shame that it's the customers that lose out and are inconvenienced because of ridiculous squabbles like this.
DishNetwork
Justin, I am sorry to hear that we will be losing your business as a result of this. WWE is not willing to adjust their PPV costs to satellite and cable companies, which is unfair to their customers. We need to re-focus our efforts to support partners that better serve DISH customers. Other satellite and cable companies, including DIRECTV, have also expressed they may no longer provide WWE PPV events in the future. -Dan B
Me
WE are the customers. WE decide what is fair and unfair to us.
The price of a PPV event is OUR decision to either pay, or pass up. If WE don't like the price, then we don't pay it, and we don't watch. Either way, it is at OUR option.
It is not up to YOU to decide not to even offer us the opportunity, because YOU feel it's "unfair". You do not speak on our behalf. We can speak for ourselves, with our money.
And yes, the others have made threats. But they didn't cut access to the the last event that we HAVE to watch on PPV access. Had the decision been made on Monday, February 24, or later, it would not be as big an issue, because MOST OF US (not all) could just watch it on WWE Network. But by cutting it out NOW, you've effectively screwed all of us loyal Dish customers who want to watch #WWE_Elimination_Chamber, unless we can find an alternate, probably illegal means.
The decision is petty and ill-timed. And like Justin, I'm not certain that it is a business model that I am willing to support with my hard earned money. While I have not committed to the decision to leave Dish Network at this time, my confidence in the company is SEVERELY shaken by this insult.
I'm so pissed, I can hardly see straight...
