Welcome to InGen Bio Engineering
Perhaps you are a dedicated college student seeking an internship, a professor of evolution, a paleobotanist, a zookeeper, a soldier or even a janitor. Whoever you are suddenly becomes moot when InGen calls. They're one of the biggest and most infamous bio-engineering companies in the world. Not much is known about what they do, exactly. There's rumors of accidents and experiments gone wrong... They were even shut down for a few years. But there's no hard-evidence of any wrong-doing and investors flock towards them with wallets extended for their novel and ambitious projects. And they want you. Whoever you are, whatever you do.... You do it better than anyone else. And more importantly you do it with
vision. A vision that John Hammond had. A vision for bringing joy.... And making money. LOTS of money.... And being willing to do almost anything to get it.
And they called you. And it is for that reason you find yourself crossing the parking lot of InGen HQ for your interview. When a company like In Gen calls, you can't be late, and as such you've shown up early.... And as you approach the huge glass and steel building you find out that your punctuality is well worth it as there's some sort of commotion that would have otherwise likely made you far from on-time.
A pale, middle aged man dressed in all black is shouting in the lobby. You can't make out what he's saying, but it's too angry to be something simple like a secretary spilling coffee on a lap. And he's waving a newspaper around wildly. It's only after you take in the perfectly disorganized mop of hair, leather jacket and dark sunglasses that you notice the man he's shouting at.... A short, balding man of some age who says something loudly and begins to walk away. The man in black raises his hand as if to strike the older man, but is stopped as two VERY large security guards lift him up under the arms and begin to carry him towards the door - straight towards YOU. At this point it seems prudent to move far away from the doors, but as the man draws close you can start to make out some of what he's saying.
"You people can't cover up the truth forever, you know! Ten people, dead! And what about the Islands, you can't honestly expect that nobody else will just "happen across them"! People WILL find out about this!"
With the final word, the man is tossed loosely out the doors, and lands roughly on the pavement near you. He stands up and brushes himself off and collects his now-broken sunglasses off the concrete before turning his eyes on you.
"I suppose you're one of them, the money-grubbing people who work for Peter's company. But you should be careful. You look new... You probably don't know yet that I used to be a consultant for him as well. It's not too late to get out of it you know.... Before we all die from these big headed C.E.O.s playing with forces they simply don't understand."
With that the man dressed in black walks away. He sits down on a near-by bench and looks up at the sky while closing his eyes. And you begin to wonder.... Just what have you gotten yourself into?
