Sorry, today I'm on reaaaaaally intermittently, because I'm finishing a big illustration assignment for tomorrow. After Wednesday & Thursday morning, I should be game to test out shading styles!
That's OK. XD Sounds like a plan. I kinda BSed some shading on the opening sample and I realized I may want additional details translated in the shading if I can get 'em... Sort of scaley knobbly bits. But I might just need a texturefill for that, really.
You should try to make some time in about an hour and a half to come play a game in Golden Stables. :3 We're handing out a legendary bird today!

Nah, nothing like that. I'm surprised you haven't checked it out yet but with how busy you are I oughtn't be.
We offer roleplaying and we have this awesome racing/breeding system going on that's pretty sweet, but everything's pretty much optional. Except for growths. If you get a baby you have to post in-thread every once in a while or it grows super-de-duper slow. XD But even that can just be pop in and tell us all about how busy you are and then not show up again for a while.
