Spanning from horizon to horizon, the Forest stretches in an unending expanse that none can claim to have seen the end of. The stories of its birth have been lost to time but many whisper that it has always existed, seeded at the creation of the world, the trees growing and dying in an unending, unbroken cycle of life. The largest trees soar into the clouds and the thickest canopies blot out even the sun. When one of the giants falls, it is quickly returned to the soil of its birth, eager seedlings reaching for the new swath of sunlight opened among the boughs above. The luckiest of creatures is the one that sees a tree fall, because there is surely a forest god waiting in the shadows to bring new life from death.

The Forest Deer (All lines are unisex)
The most common denizens of the Forest are the deer. Powerful creatures, they roam in herds varying in size from four to sometimes forty animals. Viewed as the favorite children of their land, the deer can be seen throughout the forest, varying from animal to animal as much as each tree does from its neighbors.

Unlike more mundane deer, those of the Forest are distinct in that both males and females grow a set of antlers, though the antlers of the males are typically larger. However, it is not uncommon for a doe to grow very large antlers as well, and all antlers vary wildly in shape and color, each deer sporting a set unique unto themselves. Standing nearly five feet at the shoulder, an adult can weigh between five hundred and twelve hundred pounds.

It is said that individuals blessed by the Forest Gods carry a small flame within their antlers. Some antlers even glow with an otherworldly light.

The Crows (All lines are unisex)
One of the more mysterious creatures of the Forest are the Crows, commonly known as 'mystics'. A rare sight, Crows are slightly smaller in size, standing roughly four feet at the shoulder and weighing between two hundred and six hundred pounds, though they are very robust. The most striking difference in their appearance are their faces. Unlike the typical wedge shaped head and blunt nose of a normal deer, an Crow possess the countenance of a crow, with glowing, ethereal eyes and a long, thick beak.

These impressive and sometimes unnerving creatures have the ability to commune with the spirits, even being able to see beyond the present and into the future at times. Because of this, the darkness of night sees them at their most active. They have been known to socialize with typical deer, and sometimes this can even result in offspring, but generally, Crows range far and wide with nothing but their own selves for company.

The Halflings (All lines are unisex)
As small as a fawn, the Halflings roam the Forest as its keepers. They seek balance in all things and protect all things in the forest, from the smallest flower to the tallest tree. While usually benevolent, these small creatures abhor the harming of anything under their protection and will seek to right what was wronged in any way necessary. Preferring rich, vibrant areas, the Halflings appear and disappear on a whim, sometimes following other denizens of the forest around out of curiosity. Like the Crows, they live eternally.

The Forest Gods
The tales tell of beings come from the very trees themselves, appearing and disappearing almost into thin air as they patrol the forest that is their home. Where they step, new growth springs from the soil. Where they drink, the waters run more clearly. And where they sleep, new life appears beside them, sometimes even the shapes of animal or spirit. The Forest Gods are all that the forest is, born from its very boughs and the creators of all that roam or grow there. Only the luckiest have ever been able to spot one and it is said that those who catch a glimpse are forever changed.
