Aekea Scarface

These are poems that were written in 2005-2007. They are not in my current collective. While I have unfortunately lost the first poem I ever wrote, these are some of my earliest works.

Why am I posting these in a separate collective instead of the one I already have? Well, to be honest, these are the poems I'm not too fond of. In fact I don't remember writing many of them. There certainly are some that I think might be salvageable, though. That's really the only good reason. I didn't include a lot of these in my actual collective because, frankly, I wanted them to be buried in the past, forgotten threads. However, I've decided that it'd be fun to see how far I've come in terms of poetry...or at least where I started.

Funnily enough, I found this post in a thread for one of the poems posted here. It was posted on July 6, 2006. At the time I didn't think much of it. Now, it's so very true.

Don't scrap anything. Keep them all in a folder, sub-sectioned into years. That way, you can go back and look at all your works. You might like a concept you had a long time ago, and try fixing it.

Try not to cringe too much. ;}

Alone

Alone in a room
With no window or doors
Can this be a dream?
It seems so real

Alone, I stand and wait
For something more to happen
I stand in this dream
That seems so real

Alone, I face the fact
That this might only be
A terrible dream
But it just seems too real

Alone in the corner I stand
Watching the darkness and listening
To the silence in this dream
That seems so real

Alone, I watch the walls
Break down and rot in this room
In my horrid dream
That just seems so real

Alone, I wake up
In the darkness of this room
The same room in my dream
That seemed so real

Alone, I sit here
Throughout the months and years
Living my horrid dream
That now is real

Aekea Scarface

Mirror

A mirror sits
on the wall
(never lying
never cheating)

It just sits
it will not fall
(entering the depths
of my heart beating)

Perched upon
the midnight gold
(going deeper
into my mind)

It always tells
things untold
(until I know
what I must find)

On the wall
this mirror will sit
(lying not
cheating never)

And this room
it will be lit
('til we can live
our lives forever)

The Cactus

How does this plant survive
In a place so hot
In a place where we can barely stay alive

It sits proud and tall on the desert floor
Just sitting there
Growing even bigger than it was before

The tiny spikes cover it's green skin
It protects the plant
And tells the things to never come back again

There are some things that can live inside
Getting past the spikes
For a shelter and a place to hide

When it rains, it eats drinks it all
Quenching it's thirst
As the little amounts of rain fall

This plant is called the cactus
If you didn't know
And it sits on the desert floor; gathering the desert dust

And all of these huge cacti
Grow so tall
Reaching the clouds, touching the sky

So when you think of this plant
Don't think of it small
Like you would a cockroach or an ant

Life

Life is a jigsaw puzzle
With pieces you must put together
But once it's done
It can last forever

Life is like a game
That you play throughout the years
If you make a bad move
You can cry so many tears

Life is adventurous
It is fun to go exploring
But like all adventures
This one can get boring

Life is like a book
With pages you are turning
With every page you read
There is something you are learning

Life is an animal
Like the giraffe, big and tall
But it is also
Like the flea, which is swift and small

Life is all the feelings
That we feel throughout our days
There are so many ways to feel
Yes, so many ways

Life is like a staircase
That you must climb 'till you reach the end
And if you need help
Someone will always be your friend

Life is an elevator
It can go up, and it can go down
And the lower it goes
The more your likely to frown

Life is like a movie
That you want to watch again
But once it's over
That's it, that's the end

Life is like a desert
It can have a scorching hot sun
But there is moments
When it is fun

Life can also be cold
Like a tundra or the North Pole
And there is always a time
When it freezes your soul

Life is a jungle
Full of excitement and mystery
But like some of them
They are bound to be history

Life is a flower
That starts out as a seed
And throughout the days
It has everything we need

Life is our guide
Our guide for finding the door
The door to death
But there is more

Life can be fun
But it has sadness and strife
It has everthing
Now that is life

Midnight

The moon in the sky shines so bright
Giving such a glorious light
It is such a wonderful sight
On this midnight, on this midnight

The sound of the amazing breeze
Rushing through and past all the trees
Putting most everything at ease
They don't say please, they don't say please

This shining midnight was so great
For it again, I'll always wait
If it doesn't come, there's no fate
It was just late, it was just late

Aekea Scarface

Humans
With a great mind
All of them make mistakes
They have someone to look up to
Caring

Aekea Scarface

A gentle wind blows
Cooling the animals down
Making everything peaceful

Balance

The whole world
is about the balance
whether it be simple
or strongly complex
from fire and ice
to land and sky

The godly balance is a fight
between the darkness
and the light
it's an angel that comes
it comes to save the innocent
but instead fails because it wasn't protected

The earthly balance is great
a great waterfall flooding
land standing tall
with nothing to stop it
for it is the gracefulness of the fall
that pounds the land so strong

Night and day is common
common to the humans and all
they are sister and brother united
in all that they do in the world
the shining star on luna
reflecting peace in unity

Balances come from all
they are the guardians
of our souls, our spirits
of our lives
without them we'd be lost
in the eternal void of life

Aekea Scarface

I am the Moon

I am the moon
that shines in the night
mocking the sun so proudly

I sit on my throne
to watch my children
shining with powerful glory

Walked on, has my floor.
cascading comets thrashing.
this land is now claimed.

Circling the earth
with powerful speeds
changing my looks by month

Some say I'm no more
than a celestial body
grasped by their land

I am more-- much more --
more than the imagination holds
more than life, itself

I am hope for all
always in the void of space
never leaving my humble home

I am the moon
that shines so brightly
watching the waters so proudly

Aekea Scarface

Oceans

Waters
crystal clear
running gracefully through all
Mirrored images reflecting
nature and life
Skipping stones there and through
Oceans
through and there, stones skipping
Life and nature
reflecting images mirrored
All through gracefully running,
clear, crystal
waters

Aekea Scarface

The Sun in the Sky

A fiery creature in a calm sea
Can be ferocious to us all
Nothing can ever stop it
But we depened on it
So we can survive
And to get light
From the sun
In the
Sky

Aekea Scarface

gentle sounds come near
soothing the hussle of life
all souls are at ease

all life is active
trees are blossoming to life
flowers become grand

Aekea Scarface

Persistence of Memory

All is lost
in this sea of dreams.
Time is only a memory
of what once was whole.

Beasts now devour
the glorious heavens.
This horrid nightmare
will end when all
hope is lost.

Aekea Scarface

Trees
Like soldiers who stand straight
Will whisper to all others
With the help of the wind
