Sorrow, these tears
all amount to and measure up to
my fears.
And this sorrow,
like scanning through your pictures
and realizing you won't be there tomorrow.
So sad, yet . . . so happy
your eyes.
If only you could realize.
And I know you'd be mad at me
for all the things
that I don't see
and all the the things
that I could be.
But won't.
I know,
that you would trade
a minute,
an hour,
a day.
For even a few seconds
in my place.
But you're at peace,
though now deceased
you've left the world behind.
And those who cared,
but never got to know
all the things you would have shared.
This sorrow, these tears,
like looking through your photographs
and all the times
we would have had together,
all the lost times we could have laughed.
What a beautiful bride, to him,
you'd be.
I wish I could be there to see.
But instead, I'm looking through your photographs,
missing all the times,
when you and I used to sing and laugh.
You're the sister I've always wanted.
