sure...? I mean it's all how you look at things. by the end of the show i would agree that there just friends, in that universe, but in the many different fanfics they could be anything they could even be pirate instead of ninja

lol I can imagine them doing that to each other when they are both married/whatever the ******** Sasuke's got going on with Sakura and their kids are literally the only ones to notice the awkward tension because Hinata and Sakura are in some weird form of denial.

Kishimoto is a total closet SasuNaru shipper. I can't think of any other reason for him to write the canon pairings as badly as he did. It's clear he pulled NaruHina out of his a** and he doesn't even know how SasuSaku even got married. I really want to raid the guy's doujinshi stash. ninja

Me neither. The whole manga is about the strong "bonds" between two very male "friends". With the strongest bond ever being between naruto and sasuke. The first fight in the alley of the statues was practically naruto confessing his feelings and the last fight was sasuke acknowledging that naruto was the only one for him.
And then they are both suddenly married to girls...
