Hair: Seth's hair is black that covers the back of his neck in length, a bit longer than the collarbone, and bangs that just touch on his eyes.

Physical description: Seth's skin is tough from all of the adventuring he's done over the years, which means that his feet and hands are calloused, especially his hands from using the massive longbow he owns. And, since he is an adventurer, he is mildly tanned from the sun exposure. Because of his countless hours of practicing, Seth's back, arms, and chest are noticeably muscular without being overly so.

Seth has a strong chin and high cheekbones with a more triangle face shape. His eyes are strong and piercing while also being soft and gentle. They're a bright blue color as well, with contrast to his hair color. His nose is big enough without being too big for his face, and his lips are a bit on the thinner side.

Other Characters

Annis Elizabeth Asura, the first successor to the throne and the future Queen of Asura. This was the title the little nine year old was reminded of everyday as she continued her training to become an effective Queen to her people. Everyday since she was five, the young girl had been training in proper talents, such as needlepoint, singing, and piano. From the time she was two, she had been taught harsh mannerisms that have been ingrained in her brain since then, such as how to eat, sit, walk, talk, and ride like a proper heir to the throne. It was an important task for her to know these aspects, or so she was told over and over whenever she asked. ”A proper Queen must have a straight back at all time, a proper Queen must never talk out of turn, a proper Queen should never ride a horse in the same manner as a man.” Everything, up until now, was for her training, and she knew it would continue until she became Queen.

When Annis was ten, she was old enough to learn her true service as Queen, as she and her younger twin sister, Elise, just had their birthday. In detail, Annis was told about how a woman’s body worked and, how any day now, her nether regions would bleed and everyone would celebrate because of it. After hours of more explanation of why such a thing would be welcomed, the young princess was told that she would become eligible to be courted at age eleven by various suitors until finally one was decided for her before her thirteenth birthday. And then, a fortnight after her fourteenth birthday, she would be wed to her new husband and future king.

At this point in the conversation, Annis accepted her duties with an open mind, as she had been told something similar, with less detail, in the past. However, her teachers, with her mother standing by, explained how her wedding night was very important for her. It would be another time for the kingdom to rejoice, as she was told she would bleed again and, before her first year wed to her husband, she would produce a child, the new heir to the throne. This made Annis’ mouth and throat dry up and she could feel herself pressing her tiny thighs against each other in small protest. This was a lot for her to handle, but everyone reassured her that it was okay to feel nervous about this act and was told this was the one service to her people she must fulfill, as it was customary. It was explained that her mother did the same, as well as the Queens before Annis’ mother. It was customary.

One year later, at age eleven, Annis was being fitted for a dress to wear to her first ball. She would have gone before, but alas, she hadn’t bled yet, and the kingdom was worried about when she would. The only reason Annis was going to the ball was because her sister, Elise, had bled about half a year ago. At first it was kept in secret due to Queen’s orders, but maids liked to talk. Everyone soon found that Annis’ twin, born ten minutes later, was fit to have children and questions of why Annis wasn’t started to rise. Her mother tried her best to shield this from Annis, knowing the pressures herself of how hard her training was, but alas, her own mother bled just nine days after her tenth birthday, so she couldn’t fully understand Annis’ situation.
Annis stood on a small platform in front of three connecting mirrors, one directly facing her while the other two were angled in. She had a beautiful pale violet red dress on trimmed in white that covered right up to her chest. She was standing with several maids around her to be fitted, as the ball was in two weeks. Shaina and Fae were right there with her too, as customary, considering she needed to be protected at all times. Even Fae was allowed in the room, despite being almost naked in front of him a few times due to her dress being altered. Annis found it embarrassing, but was used to it by now. Usually, if it were her chambers, Fae would be outside, but there were too many people in here, and this the rise of wonder at Annis, she was ordered to be put in more protection in case anything happened.

Soon, she was left in her undergarments and told she could sit down wherever she liked until the maids came back. The girl nodded, in a melancholic mood. That was her mood most days now, anyway.

The maids worked in a separate room connected to the dressing room Annis, Fae, and Shaina was in, but the door was left open, mostly by accident due to a careless maid. And, considering they were loud, Annis could hear them.

”My, does this girl ever grow? She’s the same size as last year! I mean, I tried to make her front bigger, thinking she would have grown something by now, but nothing! She’s as flat as a board! What Queen she’ll make.” The woman spat the last words as she ripped the stitching to the chest of Annis’ dress so she could resew it smaller. Another maid joined in, ”Aye, I doubt she could support a child with that skinny frame of hers. She’s all bones, tha’s what she is! And no hips either! I’ve never known a more childish looking woman in my life!” The maids all nodded, others from around drawing in interest to what the two were initially were talking about.

In the same room, Elise’s dress was being worked on, and the head seamstress chimed in. ”Now, I’ve never known a more womanly figure than Elise. Every time I make a dress for her, the hips have to be bigger, the waist smaller, and the chest, well… She’s been budding since she was eight, you can guess how big she is now!” She sewed for a while while other maids chattered, until she finally said, ”I bet that, if Elise was born first, none of this hoo-ha ‘bout troubles with an heir would happen. Elise has the body, she can have a child, she’s the same age, she’s beautiful… It all makes sense! For all we know, Annis could be sterile, and then what?” The maids all agreed, as they were repeating what the kingdom essentially was.

One of the maids noticed the door was open and closed it carelessly with a loud “thunk!” By then, Annis had heard enough. Tears were streaming down her face, even though she tried to keep her composure with her straightened back and chin up. She hated her body, absolutely hated it. Why couldn’t she be like Elise? Why didn’t she have her body? Why was she cursed with this one?

She hated herself.

Hair: Shaina has thick ash blonde hair that billows down on her shoulders. Usually heavily brushed and taken care of, with bangs swept to the side. Her hair feels very soft to the touch.

Physical description:

Wearing now: As a special student, Shaina isn’t required to wear the University’s uniform. She instead wears a uniform somewhere between a short dress and a military uniform, specially made for her as princess Annis’ bodyguard. It’s white, just like the University’s uniform, but has a few more stylistic parts, looking more impressive, as well as being made from a different material.

Personality:

Hobbies/Interests: Spends most of her free time studying, doing research, or doing practical tests in order to improve her magic. Takes breaks from time to time in order to go out into the city, or read. Shaina likes history books, but adores stories about adventure, or plucky young magic users.
Protecting princess Annis is her foremost responsibility, and one she never forgets.
She loves animals and becomes an almost completely different person when with one. She hates showing this side of herself, since she considers it one of her most feminine.
While living in Asura’s capital, she was forcibly trained to play an instrument, specifically the violin and the lute. She still tries to keep her skills, if only to keep up appearances.
She’d hardly ever admit it, but she secretly loves to look at jewelry and clothes, and actually likes how she looks in dresses. Sometimes while out in the city on her own she’ll go to clothing stores.

Quirks/Habits: Still uses her old wand, despite being able to afford and use a better one.
Shaina tries to keep her distance from things considered feminine, but often fails. She has generally a hard time being honest with herself.
After her time in the labyrinth, Shaina is mildly claustrophobic.
She loves spicy food and likes to try new food as much as she can.
She gets cold easily.

Dislikes: Arrogance. Shaina has a very low tolerance for people who think too highly of themselves and looks down on others.
She hates snakes. Whether she’s afraid of them or not is up for debate, but either way she’s not fond of them.
Overly religious people who push their beliefs on others, which works into her dislike of arrogance.
She absolutely loathes sports.
Weaknesses: Shaina isn’t really good at anything but magic, particularly weak at physical activities and math.
Has a very swift temper that can cause a lot of trouble, keeps herself in line near Annis and Fae, however. She’s generally quite cold to anyone but them. More than a little bit impulsive and reckless.
A bit slow on the uptake sometimes.

Strengths: One of very few people in the world able to cast chantless spells. Shaina is a very talented mage in general, but particularly adept at fire and air spells. She has a natural understand for how magic works, and how she can make it work in new ways.
Shaina is an incredibly beautiful girl who easily draws attention. Whether she wants it or not is a different matter.
She’s hardly stupid, just a bit slow in certain matters. Her biggest intellectual strength is her inventiveness and ability to think on the spot.
Usually quite confident and independent, but has moments of weakness.

Job: Princess Annis’ bodyguard.

Education: Currently in Magic University, several years in.

Current Relationships: Shaina and Seth are childhood friends, though they haven’t had contact for a long time, not since before Shaina became a girl. Shaina was reported dead after the teleportation disaster, and that’s what Seth believes her to be.
Fae and Annis are Shaina’s best and closest friends. While she is completely loyal to Annis, the main reason Shaina has for being her guard is friendship, as well as gratitude for giving her a place to be after the teleportation disaster.
