Devin shrugged off Elaina’s comment about going without. He had gone without plenty growing up too, television wasn’t an integral part of growing up. Although, honestly, he was certain the only person who would understand how he felt about Elaina’s room would be Iri. The differences between their two homes was drastic. Even with Iri having her abilities making things unsafe for them from time to time, their mother was always warm. For some reason, he felt like his whole childhood had happened during summer, all his memories were bright and warm. Even Christmas, but he didn’t linger on the idea for long. Elaina held out a book and he could help but grin from ear to ear. ”Anne Rice is my favorite author!” Despite all their differences, they did have some things in common. As he thumbed the pages of the loved book, his mind wandered to how ironic it was. He didn’t only follow The Vampire Chronicles by Rice, but other series as well. What was ironic was that not only had he read all of the Chronicles, but that he ended up becoming a vampire. Even more so, one of the people responsible for his clan being killed was a fan of the same series of books. The world felt small when looked at from that perspective, for now here they both stood, allies.

Elaina asked about how he felt and he nodded, still grinning but trying to hide it. He wasn’t numb or oblivious, she had totally been into that kiss. Silently breathing sigh of relief to himself, she hadn’t tried to kill him for his forward attempt. Which meant plenty more attempts were about to come. Jesse would be an issue at some point, but he was going to be an issue either way, what with him feeding of Elaina. Now Jesse would have two reason to hate or kill him. Or both. For some reason, Devin didn’t mind the thought. Sure, he had slept with different women from time to time, but ever since his turn he had never had a serious relationship. Not to mention, prior to his turn, what relationship could he have had that was serious? If it weren’t for the constant running and feeding, it was almost like he was trying to date Elaina. Hm. That’s not a bad idea. I should take her out some time.
Devin was pulled out of planning what kind of date to take Nelphilm hunter on and instead nodded at her words. ”I don’t know if it’ll stop them from trying to kill us, but that way they can’t say they didn’t know?” He asked with a chuckle, not trying to be terribly concerned about his or Iri’s mortality.

Elaina escorted him back out to meet everyone and his brows furrowed. Where was Iri? The stern look didn’t leave his face when Iri appeared with Jesse. Had this dude just taken his little sister into his room? It was one thing for Elaina, she was a woman after all. Devin kept glaring at Jesse, wondering what he had been doing with Iri. When Elaina announced them, he kept the hard look on his face as he made sure to make eye contact with every hunter in the room. Possibly, if they had looked into his eyes, they would be less likely to kill him? He wasn’t sure, but it was good to know their faces too. He jabbed Iri in the ribs and whispered for her to look up.

Then some random guy approached Elaina and Devin didn’t like it one bit. Spar? He followed to where the mats were set out for their sparing and he couldn’t help but feel more weird about this place. As a child if he and Iri even wrestled it was discouraged. Then it dawned on him that he didn’t see Iri. Why hadn’t she followed? Looking around, he tried to see if Jesse was there and of course he wasn’t. It made Devin fuming mad, but he crossed his arms over his chest to watch Elaina get too close to this guy Ethan and his sternness vanished. She was in amazing shape and Ethan looked like a rag doll more than a man. The hooting and hollering was almost intoxicating and he couldn’t help but join in. Before he knew it, though, Ethan had had enough and she was calling out her next victim. Her eyes met his and he couldn’t help the goofy, toothy grin that spread across his face.

”Oh, you want a piece of me?” He teased. Devin worried for a moment how well his body would tolerate being in such close contact with hers. Energy flowed through him and it made him want so many things. The thought of the surrounding hunters, however, kept his fire at an embers level rather than a roaring blaze as it had been when it was just the two of them. Elaina seemed interested in sparing with him and so he agreed, knowing he could take her … Well, upon thinking on it some, he couldn’t turn down her invitation to spar, but losing to her in front of everyone would make him look weak. She was special, no average hunter, after all. Did everyone here know that? Elaina was thin, but very well built, he had spent the last years running, not training as she had.

Taking his jacket off, Devin smiled as he approached Elaina. Unlike Ethan, he was pulling every punch, he even tried to strike first, but had zero intention of hurting her. She, on the other hand, wasn’t going to let him get away with underestimating her. Back and forth they went until finally, she had him pinned to the ground, her face inches from his own. Hearing the murmur of judgment from the hunters, it was all he focused on to prevent himself from kissing her again. Before he knew it, though, alarms were sounding and people were shouting outside. A girl screamed and his blood ran cold… Well, if it could it would have, because he knew that scream belonged to his sister. Damn it! Elaina helped him to his feet and it was a mad scramble for weapons and everyone was exiting the building.

Devin, on the other hand, had no need for weapons, so he made a B-line for the door and began searching for his sister. When his eyes took in the sight, he rushed to her. Iri was covered in blood and shaking, holding a small weapon covered in blood. Her eyes were wide and he began scanning her. There didn’t seem to be any wounds on her, but his attention was soon diverted when she screamed again and he turned in time, grabbing a vampire by the throat and throwing it to the ground. He heard a satisfying crack and stood up, grabbing Jesse by the arm. ”I thought we were going to them, not them bring the fight here!” He wanted an explanation and didn’t care how made Jesse got.

Iri had thought the color in her face would fade, but when Jesse mentioned getting her somewhere safe, it came right back. God, can I be any more transparent? At least he’s nice to me despite that… It wasn’t her fault she didn’t have a poker face. What need did she have to hide her feelings with Devin? He was rude and obnoxious and her brother. Jesse, on the other hand, probably could, like, read minds or something! Perhaps it was stupid to think so, but with her he didn’t have to. She knew her face showed her emotions well enough, it was why she would look down or away when he was around. It was even more embarrassing knowing he could probably read her like a book. When he spoke she followed him with her eyes as he went to his closet, making her feel slightly better. He returned, holding out something beautiful and shiny. Removing the sword, he handed it to her and she held it delicately in her hands.

It was the first time she had ever held an actual weapon. Even as a kid her mom never let her play with Devin’s pocket knives. Confusion crossed her face, then sorrow. As his personal weapon, what did it mean for him to let her use it for the battle? It was beautiful and she felt it had to be important since it came in a pair, right? More than that, though, she wondered if any of Devin’s clan had been killed with it. Or how many people had lost their lives to that blade who had been innocent like her and Devin, their only crime being that they had been born or made into what humans viewed as monsters. Moving on from that thought, she wondered where they had even come from. Were they a gift from their ‘mother’? Then, biting her lip, she looked up at him, wondering how to tell him she had no skills with weapons.

Before she could break the news, a knock came and she expected to see Elaina or Devin, but she didn’t know the face. Why hadn’t Elaina come to get them? Standing, she left the knife on the bed, worried if she took the sword out of the room everyone would get the wrong impression. When they entered the room she smiled at Elaina and Devin, but he just scowled. Why was he so grumpy? She had no idea… If Elaina let him feed like she suspected, then he should be in a good mood. Maybe he hit on her and she turned him down? Either way, as she was pushed to in front of the group, Elaina and Devin close to her, she felt warm and looked down, feeling awkward and on stage. Devin prodded her, encouraging her to look up, so she did, looking around the room and finding Jesse’s face. Desperate to not be obvious, she kept scanning and found Rayne starring at them. The gaze made her uncomfortable, but it was somehow easier to look at her than at Jesse or the other hunters.

Another hunter came up close and she felt herself impulsively get closer to Devin. It was for no reason, however, since the guy only wanted to spar with Elaina. The pair left and Devin was in tow of Elaina, to which Iri began to follow instinctively until Jesse went off back to his room, expecting her to follow. Which she did, her face getting warmer with every step they took. He was only there a moment, grabbing the pair of small swords, and saying they would practice. She tried to shake her head, but he was already heading outside. Giving her the one she has set on the bed, he removed the other one from its case and instructed her to attack. With a sigh, she hung her head.

”This is the first time I’ve ever held a sword.” Jesse approached her and she froze for a moment, unsure of why he was getting close. His footsteps began to sound like a beating heart, but she realized that it was her heart beating. Could he hear that too? With kindness, he showed her how to properly hold it, then he moved back and demonstrated a few things before insisting she attack him again. Internally groaning, she wasn’t sure what to say or do. Looking at him, despite his size, she just felt that he needed a hug more than anything. There was an inner child in him that hadn’t been loved and cared for the way she and her brother had and that was what she saw now. That child, holding the same sword, being told to attack and being scolded if he did anything wrong. Jesse insisted and she nodded, closing her eyes with a deep breath.

When she opened them, she ran at him, trying to slash at him. It was half-hearted, really, since she didn’t want any pain to come to him, but she was trying. It felt like forever, they went back and forth and she could feel herself sweating. How disgusting!? After seeing this, I’m sure he’ll see me as some gross beast. Then suddenly Jesse went rigid and she wondered if she got him. There was a rush of wind and Jesse struck out into darkness and she heard laughter. Something was there, with them, watching them and laughing. Her eyes scanned the darkness but she could see nothing there. Could Jesse see whatever it was? Moving closer to Jesse, she felt something strike her and she screamed and closed her eyes, lashing out with the sword still gripped tightly in her sweaty hands.

Apparently she and Jesse had struck at the same time, because laying between them, with open wounds on either of its side, laid a person. It wasn’t just any person, their eyes glowed a deep read and she knew that this was a vampire that fed until their victims were dead. She was covered with blood splatter and there was another voice in the dark laughing. Turning, holding the sword out with both hands, she shook as she waited for the next attack. There was a shout and then they came out of the woods, she didn’t realize the scream she let out, but Jesse got between them and attacked again. This one was dead too, as she turned to look for more, Devin ran to her, scanning her and she could hardly speak to him, sword still in hand. He was made at Jesse, but this wasn’t Jesse’s fault, but she still couldn’t speak or move. There were more, there had to be more!

((Hope this is okay? Sorry for moving Jesse so much, just assumed what he would do? You can correct anything, also wanted to give Elaina plenty of time to get in on the action))

Jesse took Iri outside, handing her the white sword as he held onto the black. He told her to attack him but she hesitated, looking down at the ground. Then she admitted she had never held a sword before.”That's okay, you'll learn.” He assured her, moving closer to aide her in how to hold it. ”Hold it in your dominant hand and feel its weight, get yourself used to it. I know it's heavy but the more you use it the less you will feel the weight. Now come at me.” He jumped away from her with easy grace and watched as she closed her eyes, as if preparing herself. Then she was running at him. He parried the attack with ease and looked down at her. She was so close and part of him just wanted to pull her close, but that would be wrong. It might upset Iri, which in turn would definitely upset Devin. He didn't need another reason for the vampire to want to murder him.

”Try again. Don't be afraid to actually attack me. I've trained with these weapons my whole life practically. You can't hurt me.” And so they continued, with Iri actually trying and he was surprised by how quickly she learned. Of course she wouldn't become a master instantly but there were a few attacks he actually had to try to block, rather than move off casual instinct. There was definite progress made and it wasn't a moment too soon. Iri went in to attack him just as he heard a sound in the forest behind him. A snap of a twig had him freezing momentarily as he listened. With quick reflexes he swung his sword out behind him, but the vampire was quicker, moving as he let out a cackle. Something struck out at Iri and she screamed as Jesse slammed his sword into the vampire and Iri did the same. Blood sprayed everywhere, covering the two of them as the vampire crumbled into a pile of dust.

Devin and Elaina showed up then, instantly fighting off a couple of vampires. Devin grabbed his arm, shouting at him. ”We were supposed to go to them, but they're here now.” More vampires came rushing out of the forest and Jesse stuck close to Iri. She was doing fine with the sword until they were surrounded. Jesse was pulled away from her by a vampire who made the mistake of trying to feed on him. He got a sword in the back for it but not before he saw Iri surrounded. Devin and Elaina both were a distance from her as well but before he could reach her or even call out to her Iri burst into flames. The vampires near her also immediately were on fire, screaming as they burned to death. Jesse got to her side just as she burned out, and he was there to cw6789iatch her unconscious body as it fell. ”s**t.” He muttered under his breath as Devin and Elaina managed to make their way next to him. ”Iri caught fire and then passed out. I'll keep her safe so you both can help out where needed.”

More vampires approached and Jesse gently laid Iri on the ground. ”Go!” He yelled at the other two as he picked up the white sword Iri had dropped. With both weapons in hand he looked at the vampires coming nearer, raising them to make it clear if they wanted Iri they would have to go through him. And they certainly tried. He took the first one out with one swing of the white blade as the black sliced the side of another. Moving quickly he beheaded the third with a swift movement with both blades. The fourth however managed to scratch him, tearing his shirt open and leaving claw marks down his chest which began bleeding immediately. It hurt like hell but he did not falter, killing another vampire with ease. This continued until Jesse thought there would be no end. He was tiring and had a few other wounds to prove it but still he fought on. He promised Iri he would keep her safe and he wasn't about to forgo that promise now. He would keep her safe until he no longer drew breath.

At last the assault slowed and then stopped and the four regrouped as Iri started coming around. Jesse lifted her up off the ground, offering to carry her into the house. His sister walked away to have a word with Rayne and when she returned she told them they should clean up while she helped with the bodies. Jesse didn't want to leave her to deal with it alone but he also couldn't leave Devin and Iri to wander a hunter house alone either. So he shrugged his shoulders, silently agreeing to allow Devin to shower first. He carried Iri inside and Devin followed. She was conscious now but he wasn't sure he was quite ready to let her go. ”You can shower in Elaina's room, I'll let Iri take one in mine.” He told Devin innocently. It wasn't like he was going to try anything, he just wanted to make sure Iri stayed safe.

After Elaina beat Ethan she waited for someone else to challenge her, but her eyes kept circling back to Devin. She wanted him to challenge her and as her eyes met his he smiled, a large grin that caused her heart to skip a beat. When he spoke she chuckled but she noticed the way the hunters looked uncomfortable. It was probably the joking manner between the two of them. Being that close with a vampire would make any hunter uncomfortable. Or it was supposed to. But Elaina knew the sparring match would bring the cheerful mood back. Devin took off his jacket and stepped onto the mat. Elaina had not thought about what such close proximity to Devin would do to her. She just wanted to see how strong she was.

Devin struck out at her first but she could tell he wasn't trying. This slightly angered Elaina. ”Fight me.” She demanded as she landed a punch to his stomach. After that Devin at least acted like he took her seriously and they went back and forth for a long while. Elaina never forgot that they were surrounded by hunters. How could she as they now cheered her on? She had no idea how long they sparred for, but finally an opportunity presented itself and she was able to knock Devin off balance. Elaina then straddled his waist, leaning down close to him. ”I win.” She said the words slowly with a smile on her face, but the smile faltered when she realized how close they were. Her face flushed crimson and suddenly she couldn't look at him, but she somehow couldn't move either.

At least not until alarms began to sound. Elaina was raised to respond to that sound immediately – it generally meant life or death. She was off of Devin and helping him up in a matter of seconds, just as concerned about the scream as he was. She knew it was Iri and her thoughts wondered where Jesse was for her to have screamed like that. Ethan approached her, holding a sword in one hand and a holster and another sword in the other. Elaina took the gun and the weapon from him, thanking him as she wrapped the holster around her waist quickly and ran off with Devin who could barely stand to wait for her for the short amount of time it took for her to get ready.

Elaina followed him to Iri's side, noticing that there were numerous places that small fights had broken out and even the younger, newer hunters were fighting. But it didn't seem like enough. There was an alarming number of vampires. Whatever Rayne had done she had pissed off more than one clan. ”Damn it.” She spat, looking to Devin. ”Is she okay?” Iri didn't look like any of the blood was hers and so Elaina moved her eyes to locate Jesse. He was plunging a sword into a vampire's chest and she was thankful he was unharmed. Another vampire appeared and Elaina ran him through with her blade, taking her gun and firing at one approaching Devin, who was trying to get Jesse to explain the ambush.

The fighting lasted hours and by the end of it there were casualties she didn't even want to think about. Many of the young and inexperienced hunters lay dead in the grass, the only sign something horrific had happened there. The vampires were dead, leaving behind only dust which would be carried away by the wind, but the bodies would have to be taken care of by the remaining hunters. Elaina spotted Rayne in the distance and she took off toward her without a word to the others. When she reached her 'mother' she couldn't stop the anger. ”All this death is on you.” She spat, her eyes tearing up. So much death and bloodshed and for what!? ”What did you do?” ”They had a scythe that was too dangerous to leave in their hands.” Rayne looked as if she had done nothing wrong. ”So you took it!? Unbelievable. All of these people dead because you can't leave well enough alone!” ”The scythe can kill anything.” As if that justified things. ”So what? The vampires weren't coming after you. Not until you stole from them. This is your fault.” ”Elaina -” Rayne reached out for her but Elaina simply pulled away. ”No! You can kill me too if that's what you want but I have spent long enough ignoring your terrible leadership. You don't care about any of these people who faught and died for you. To you they are all expendable and that makes me sick.” With that being said she marched off back to Iri, Devin, and Jesse. ”I'm going to help put the bodies to rest. You guys can go get cleaned up. There's a shower in the bathroom connected to my room and one in Jesse's room. I'm sure he won't mind letting you go first.” She said the last part while looking at her brother who simply shrugged. Without another word Elaina went off to help someone move a body.

Devin had arrived just in time to help. He and Elaina worked at keeping most of the vampires from getting into the house or surrounding Jesse and Iri. Using his speed and strength, he kept getting drawn out, but he wasn’t new here. That trick wouldn’t work on him, but unfortunately it had for Iri. Suddenly the yard lit up as if the sun were rising and he turned to find her completely engulfed in flames. Someone screamed her name, but it soon hit him that the voice he heard belonged to him. Getting near her was next to impossible and the vampires that were near her got enveloped by the flames themselves and died screaming. Then she was falling back to the ground, however, her clothes had burned off, only the metal buckles of her boots and zipper of her pants lay nearby as reminders of what she had been wearing. Devin ran over, averting his eyes, completely grossed out by the fact that his sister lay there naked for god and everyone to see. He went to remove his jacket only to remember that it was still downstairs, where the sparing had taken place.

Iri lay there, Jesse over her, Devin couldn’t stomach to look, but how was Jesse to remove his jacket that moment and cover her without dropping his weapons? He couldn’t, Devin did his best to fight off the coming hoard, but he wasn’t sure Jesse would get the opportunity to cover his sister. At least not until the fight was over. How much time had passed? He wasn’t sure, but aside from panting, he found himself feeling fine. Other than the crisis of mortality he was having. Luckily Jesse had finally been able to cover his sister, who he was now carrying and Devin was, for once, grateful that the giant of a man was around. He couldn’t imagine the beebee Jeeves he would feel if he had to carry his sister in nothing but a jacket.

Looking down at the ash and blood that covered him, he didn’t argue with Elaina. He wanted to help with the bodies, but with the ash all around, he realized just how fragile he actually was and a hot shower sounded like a good remedy to those dark thoughts. Jesse and himself, Iri still in Jesse’s arms, reentered the house and went to the hallway where the doors to their respective rooms were. Jesse mentioned Iri showering in his bathroom and it was then that he realized he was about to leave his sister -naked- alone with this man. With wide, pleading eyes, he looked at Jesse. ”Please… Don’t… she’s… innocent.” Devin wanted to barf, but he felt it was important for Jesse to know. There was no way he was able to call her a virgin, it was gross that he even knew that, but she had never had time to date with all the running they had done.

Once inside Elaina’s room, Devin moved his body as if removing a spider web from it. He felt oogy having spoken about his sister like that, so he shook it off and went to shower. However, after having hopped in the shower and washing the filth off, he got out and toweled off, he realized he had nothing to put on. Damn it. He cursed himself but wrapped the towel around his midsection hoping to find Elaina when he opened the door. Nope, just an empty room, and he wasn’t about to go walking around a house full of hunters in a towel. Suddenly there was a knock at the door and he had hoped it was Iri, but when he opened it, he came face to face with Rayne. ”Fascinating, that sister of yours. It would be a pity to kill something so rare. If only my daughter would consider staying home more.” With a glance downward, she turned and left and he scowled as he closed the door.

It opened again and this time it was Jesse. ”Dude, bring me back clothes!” Jesse left, saying he didn’t have anything that would fit Devin. With an eye roll, Devin shut the door again, sitting on the bed. When the door opened for a third time, it was finally Elaina. He rose to his feet, repeating to himself to not drop the towel. ”Your mother paid a visit, threatening my sister. Who is next door with your brother! I feel bad. I’m trusting him with my sister and I’m eating off his sister. I think we should tell him.” Devin couldn’t help but feel guilty, even though he wanted nothing more than to drop the towel he held around his waist.

Iri smiled softly as Jesse came to help her. He was being very kind to her, despite her lack of skills. When he mentioned her inability to hurt him, she wondered how true that was. Yes, he was incredibly powerful and well built and in excellent shape, but even Nephlims could be burned, could they not? His confidence made her smile more, but at the idea of him as a small child being told he couldn’t play until he had mastered these made her heart sink a little. They went back and forth and she was beginning to feel almost comfortable.

Then all hell broke loose. When Elaina and Devin finally joined, they were continuously getting surrounded and Devin would use his powers and vanish from what the mortal mind could comprehend. Elaina was all over the place, but Jesse kept seeming to find his way near her and she was thankful. Then he was pulled back and another vampire shoved past her, knocking her forward. Spinning around, she realized she was completely cut off from the others. In between two of them she could spot Devin, getting his face slashed into, and Jesse getting his chest cut open. All hope was lost. Her body went numb and an anger, or fear, boiled up within her and she screamed again, but this time no sound escaped.

Instead fire shot out from every pour of her body and she even felt her feet leave the ground as the vampires around her exploded and screamed before dying and turning into dust. Then there was nothing but silence and a black, cold, abyss. Unbeknownst to her, her very much naked body lie in the grass, exposed to all the world. The fighting continued without her, for how long she didn’t know, but the shouting gave way to somber silence and she could feel a cloth over her, then cool arms under her back and her knees. The gentle sway almost roused her, but the last image she saw was her brothers disgruntled face and then there was softness beneath her.

Slowly her eyes fluttered open and she looked around, extremely confused. They were in Jesse’s room? What happened to the vampires? She saw Jesse and began to sit up, but the cloth over her began to sleep and she looked down, grabbed it with speed she didn’t know she possessed and pulled it back up, pulling her legs behind it and hiding her face as well. Her backside was expose but she didn’t want to pull his pillow against her and have her butt against it! Her face was blood red and she couldn’t hear her own thoughts over the hammering of her heart. ”Wha-what happened? W-w-why am I n-naked?!” Her speech was muffled, but it was as strong as she could speak.

Her arms hugged her knees and in doing so rubbed against the stubble that had been steadily growing back. Oh my god! It’s been almost a whole week since I shaved! I’m naked AND hairy! Iri wanted more than anything to continue to ball up and vanish into thin air. Jesse mentioned something about a shower and she shook her head lightly. ”I have nothing to change into. M-my stuffs in the car.” If she could, she would have died of embarrassment. He mentioned something about going to get them and it wasn’t until he left the room and she heard his footsteps fade that she tossed the coat off of her and bolted to the bathroom door. Once inside she closed it and flinched at the image she saw in the mirror. Dust and blood covered her and she covered her face before moving to turn the shower on. Why?! Why did the first time anyone saw her naked have to be more than one person? It was bad enough it was Jesse, but as she stood there, more came back to her and she knew he wasn’t the only one.

Soaping her body, she hated herself for not shaving sooner. It was bad enough to be naked, but unshaved? Tears welled up, but were washed away by the showers stream. Well, at least things couldn’t get worse, right? Once she felt sufficiently clean, which was difficult to do, she shut the water off, wondering if Jesse had returned. Iri rang her hair out before stepping out and grabbing the towel, tussling her hair in it. Afterwards, she wrapped the towel tightly around her body, with a death grip holding it up, she opened the door to peek out for Jesse, one leg hidden behind the other. There had been no razor for her to utilize and she had always been taught never to share razors. ”Jesse?” She asked sheepishly, afraid to open the door but having no choice but to peek further into the room.

Elaina cleaned up more bodies than she cared to see, many of them friends and so young. As she dug graves and laid them to rest, tears poured down her face. All of them fought hard and died with honor, as pointless as the battle was. When the last body was buried she looked around at all the people who helped, smiling a sad smile. "Thank you for your assistance." She said to them before going inside. She needed a shower and hopefully Devin was finished by the time she got to her bedroom. Out of politeness she knocked on the door before opening it. The sight that greeted her had her face warming up. "Why are you on my bed in a towel?" She asked him cautiously. Devin's words had her looking towards the door however, closing it behind her and looking back to him. "She threatened Iri?" He mentioned telling Jesse that he was feeding from her and Elaina started to worry. "He's going to freak the heck out if we tell him. I don't want to see him try to hurt you." Her eyes moved over his body again and with a sigh she looked back into his eyes. That was the safest place to look. "And so I ask again: why are you in a towel?" When he explained he had no clothes Elaina nodded. "I'll get some from Jesse's room. Be back in a sec."

Elasina left the room and headed to Jesse's, not bothering to knock as she entered. She found a startling scene, her brother and Iri both looking horrified, the girl naked and leaning against him. "Not gonna ask." Was all she said before heading to his closet. "Just grabbing Devin some close because someone wouldn't do it." All the clothing in the closet was dark but she found the lightest thing she could - a grey shirt - and grabbed a pair of black pants. She went back to her bedroom and tossed the clothes at Devin, letting him go in the bathroom and get dressed. When he was finished and back in her room Elaina took the opportunity to go take a shower herself. She was exhausted but still had a long night ahead of her if she was going to do what she planned on doing. The water cleaned the blood and dirt off of her but it didn't help with the empty feeling she was left with after a day like they had. When she was finished she stepped out of the shower, wrapping a towel around her body and poking her head out of the bathroom door. "Can you grab me a shirt from the closet and a pair of pants from the second dresser drawer?" She asked Devin. He did as she requested and Elaina went back into the bathroom and dressed. With still damp hair she went back into the bedroom, sitting down on the bed beside Devin. "We have to steal something from Rayne. The reason those vampires attacked was because she stole a scythe from them that can apparently kill anything. She cannot have that kind of power. Will you help? We will need Jesse and Iri too." He agreed and the pair headed to Jesse's room, this time Elaina knocked hoping Iri was dressed. The scene she witnessed before would have pissed Devin off to no end.

Jesse walked with Devin and Iri back to the bedrooms, leaving Devin at Elaina's and taking Iri back to his. He laid her on the bed gently and waited for her to wake up. When she did she understandably freaked out. "Calm down, it's just me here. You turned into a ball of fire during the fight and incenerated your clothing. I gave you my jacket, which was all I could do." He explained calmly. "Why don't you go take a shower, you'll feel better after." She shook her head at him, mentioning clothes that were in the car. "I'll grab them." It would make the room empty so she would feel more comfortable getting off the bed. He walked out and headed to the car, grabbing her bag and bringing it back inside. She was in the shower when he got to the room and so he took the time to go into the kitchen and grab a drink. When he returned Iri was in the bedroom in nothing but a towel. Jesse held her bag up to show her he had gotten it and she moved toward him to grab it. But somehow she tripped and her grip on the towel faltered as she fell into him. It was that scene Elaina walked into and he was mortified. What if she told Devin? His sister quickly grabbed clothes and left and Jesse bent down to grab her towel, holding it out to Iri with his eyes closed. "This is yours." He was sure she felt more than embarrassed and he didn't want to make it worse.

By the time she emerged from the bathroom - this time fully clothed - there was a knock on the door and he opened it to let Elaina and Devin in. His sister started talking about a scythe they needed to steal and that Jesse needed to distract Rayne and the hunters. "I can do that. Come on Iri, let's go entertain some people." He left the room with her and they were walking down the hall together when they passed one of the male hunters. He was one of the younger ones and obviously felt invigorated by surviving the fight. He looked right at Iri and spoke words that had Jesse immediately furious. "If you shaved that nasty bush I'd let you sit on my face." Jesse was on him in a second, his fist meeting the kid's jaw without hesitation. "You don't speak to a lady like that." He said through clenched teeth. "Yo dude, chill out." The boy was holding his face, looking back to Iri. "She's just a super, what does it matter how I talk to her?" Another fist flew and the commotion brought a large amount of hunters into the living room where the fight was happening. Rayne appeared as well, standing on the edge of the crowd and just watching. Well Elaina wanted a distraction and she was going to get it. Rayne would not interfere in this fight - she didn't believe in doing so. Training was training, whether it was real or sparring. "Keep your lewd comments to yourself." The kid tried to hit him but Jesse dodged the blow easily. "Know when you are outmatched." He cautioned him. "Because you don't stand a chance against me. Maybe in a few years but definitely not now." Jesse hit him again and the kid backpedaled. He was starting to see his mistake but his ego wouldn't let him back down. There was a room full of hunters calling for a fight and the boy wasn't going to disappoint them. Well, he was, he just didn't know it yet.

Devin sighed, then narrowed his eyes at Elaina. ”Does it bother you I’m wearing only a towel? I’m on your bed because there isn’t a chair.” What did she expect him to do? Walk around the compound like that? No, sitting on her bed int he nude would have been better than tromping around in a towel. He nodded his head. ”Rayne says she knows what Iri is and I believe her.” After all, after seeing Iri light up like that, what hunter wouldn’t know what she was? At least the leaders of the hunter clans had to have heard of everything. Right? Elaina mentioned the poor reaction Jesse would have and he nodded. ”We will think of a way. And obviously not do it here. But I gotta tell him.” When he first met Jesse, he didn’t think he would ever feel guilty about doing anything against the man. Things were different, now, though. He felt like he could trust Iri with Jesse and if he could, then Jesse deserved to feel he same. No, not just feel the same, but the same should have been true. However, it wasn’t further from the truth. Even in a house full of hunters Devin wanted nothing more than Elaina and keeping himself from her was getting harder. Luckily she agreed to get him clothes and when he was able to dress, he felt much better. ”I’m in a towel because your brother is a d**k. He wouldn’t get me anything, instead just grabbed some stuff for Iri and told me no when I asked.” It made him wonder why she kept asking, but he had to repeat his chant. Don’t drop the towel. Don’t drop the towel. You cannot kiss her again. Not here. Not like this. Jesse trusts you with Elaina. Break that trust further later. Elaina left and returned in a flash, giving him the much needed garments and he put them on in the bathroom before exiting and allowing her to use the shower.

Admittedly, sitting on the bed, knowing she was naked under running water, didn’t make things much easier. At least he wasn’t still in a towel, where his thoughts would be much more obvious. He had laid back on her bed, while he waited for Elaina to finish. It wasn’t long after he heard the water shut off that the door opened and she peeked out. His face feeling flush, which was weird enough, he walked over and grabbed her the few items she requested and handed them over without looking. Moving to sit back down, he felt his face. It was odd that he even felt a blush, typically he didn’t have enough blood in him for that. Then again, her blood was doing things to him. Was that what was drawing him towards her? Devin could only hope she, too, felt the sexual tension and that it wasn’t all in his head. And if she did? What then? Jesse was undoubtedly going to kill him anyway. Perhaps if he were gone and Iri wasn’t around, he could call Jesse over the phone and then tell him? It was a cowards way, but he couldn’t help it. The need to tell Jesse was great, because he had already crossed one line and couldn’t stop imagining himself crossing the second.

Elaina pulled him deeper into such thoughts when she sat down and if his heart could beat, he was certain it would have been skipping. Then Elaina mentioned her mother again and he nodded, turning from ‘horny mode’ to ‘secret agent mode’. Standing up, he entered Jesse’s room after Elaina, completely unaware of all that had happened. ”Iri, take a few deep breaths. I can’t think when your heart is beating so fast.” Devin put his fingers to his temples, weirded out by the fact that he could hear her heart so clearly. As to why that was, he gave no thoughts. It seemed to speed up whenever Jesse was around, but that didn’t bother him. Iri always got in a tizzy when a guy she was attracted to was around. She gave him a dirty look, but he didn’t care. Instead he waved her goodbye when her and Jesse went to set the distraction. It was curious to him what they would be doing to keep Rayne occupied, but he knew Jesse wouldn’t use Iri like that, so he worried little about it.

Instead he followed Elaina down a hallway, one after another, until they reached a room. She delicately opened the door and they entered. This room smelled different from the rest of the house, but it was familiar, a scent of death and decay, but with flowers or something over it. This was definitely Rayne’s room. Elaina snuck into the closet where a fake wall stood, she gently pushed it and with no effort it moved out of the way to reveal a brick staircase that ended in front of a great metal vault. ”You know how to get in there?” This didn’t look like a place that Rayne would trust even her own children to know, but with how well Elaina seemed to know the way, he trusted her.

Iri couldn’t explain to Jesse that she couldn’t calm down because it was him there. At least with Devin she didn’t care if he saw her hairy legs. Why did it matter so much with Jesse? It made her feel worse, even he didn’t consider him seeing her naked a big deal. Yet, to her, she couldn’t help but feel like it was. It was no matter that he didn’t share her feelings. They had a death deal and for her to think he would ever see her as anything other than a monster, especially after having set fire, she knew she was just kidding herself. It’s just hormones. I can’t help how I feel! Certainly this was easier for him, she had seen many of the female hunters, they were all beautiful and just as fit as him and his sister. Why would he ever settle for less? It was a blessing when he left the room, but when she finished her shower, he had returned. Iri had opened the door and began to step out to get the clothing he had brought back for her, but her foot caught on her leg it was hiding behind and she found herself falling forwards and put out both hands to catch herself.

Unfortunately she caught herself right on Jesse, the towel falling to the floor just as the door opened. This was the worst day of her life! Well, perhaps not worse than the day they lost their mother, but she had never felt more ashamed and embarrassed than she had in that moment. What Elaina must have thought! She began to stammer as the woman grabbed a few items and left, unable to get anything out to defend herself or the situation they were now in. If she weren’t naked, she would have asked if Devin had requested clothes from Jesse and why Jesse hadn’t given him any, but she was, in fact, naked. Again in front of Jesse. Once she was able to right herself, he lead down and handed her her towel, his eyes avoiding her. Snatching the towel, she returned it around her and mumbled a thanks before going back into the bathroom. Tears fell down her face as she dressed, hating herself.

”All yours.” She mumbled, moving to sit on the bed, bringing one knee to her chest to hold. Before he could shower, however, a knock came and she expected to see Devin. Instead Elaina was the first to enter and her heart began to race. Had Elaina told Devin? Was he here to kill Jesse? Which would have been stupid, because Jesse had done nothing wrong. He couldn’t even stomach looking at her, so Devin had no right to be mad. Opening her mouth to explain, her words were cut off by Elaina’s and she found a spot to stare at on the floor. Devin mentioned something about her heart beat and she shot daggers at him, unable to kill him with her look, she would make sure he’d pay for that embarrassing comment later.

Jesse moved and spoke kindly to her, her heart sinking as she stood up. It was going to be weird for a while, being out where others had seen her naked as well wouldn’t help. Sheepishly, she followed until their path was blocked by a hunter. Her voice caught and tears began to fill her eyes. Nasty? Hair was normal! Part of her brain, way in the back, wondered why on earth he would want her to sit on his face, but she knew he was insulting her. Jesse acted in a way she hadn’t expected. His fist collided with the guys face and she tried to speak again, wishing he would stop. A lady? Was that how he saw her? The fists kept flying and she wanted it to stop, but it wouldn’t. Well, it certainly was the distraction they needed. Rayne stood there, watching Jesse fight with the younger hunter.

Gathering up all her courage, she approached Rayne. ”Why aren’t you stopping this? Jesse is.. Different now…” Rayne knew about the Mark of Cain. If he lost control, that hunter wouldn’t only die, but his soul would be destroyed. Is that what Rayne wanted? ”Yes, I suppose he is. I need to see if he’s keeping in shape. It would be unfortunate if he started slacking before his marriage.” The earth was shattering. Mouth open, she blinked at Rayne, at a complete loss for words. ”Oh? He hasn’t told you? Yes, he’s engaged to a huntress whose beautify is without equal. This little distraction with you and your brother has postponed things, for certain. Now that he sees what he’s missing… Or should I say what he isn’t missing, he’ll be even more excited to wed his bride.” Her eyes went up and down Iri’s body as she spoke. The girl stood there, feeling naked again. ”I’m sure he didn’t tell you because you don’t matter. That, and, busty women make him nervous. I’m not sure he’ll even be able to say his vows.” Iri wasn’t flat chested by any means, but she wasn’t ‘busty’ either. It was an odd thing for a ‘mother’ to know about her son, but Iri stood there, looking back at the fight, feeling stupid and worse. Now. Now she knew things could certainly not get any worse. All she could hope for was that the fight would end soon and Elaina and Devin would be successful and then they could all leave.

As they walked in Devin basically told Iri to calm down and Elaina wasn't surprised to learn the girl's heart was beating so fast. Not after what she had walked into. When the plan was solidified Devin and her left the room, heading to Rayne's room. The walk was a little long, as her room was in the opposite end of the house away from anything and anyone. Rayne kept her secrets just that - secrets - but Elaina had spent her whole life running around that house and she had snuck into Rayne's room more times than she could count. Mostly when it was around Christmas time and she was looking for presents. But that was long ago and she wasn't a little girl anymore. The 'present' she was after now was a legitimate weapon and it was dangerous. That was why they had to get it away from Rayne. When they reached the bedroom she opened the door and went in first, closing it once Devin was inside. She went straight for the closet, pushing on the fake wall in just the right spot. It slid out of the way and Elaina descended the brick stairs with Devin right behind her. The vault revealed itself not long into the decent and he asked if she knew how to get into it. "Rayne's a crappy mother, but she's still a mother." Elaina said, pressing buttons in the order of her and Jesse's birthdays. The vault door swung open and she stepped inside, looking around. The scythe wasn't hard to spot. Rayne had laid it in a sword holder next to some locked boxes. Elaina picked it up, immediately feeling the power. "We need to get this into one of the cars. Probably the trunk would be best."

The pair backtracked, shutting the vault behind them and climbing the stairs. Elaina put back the fake wall and closed the closet then the pair headed out of the room and down the hall. She could hear a commotion coming from the living room and she assumed it was Jesse's distraction but she had no clue what was going on. Quickly she tiptoed to the front door, opening it quietly and closing it just as softly behind them. She went to her and Devin's car, opening the trunk and dropping the scythe into it. "That wasn't so bad. Let's go see what Jesse is up to so he knows he can knock it off." They went to the living room in time to see Jesse punch one of the younger hunters. The boy fell into the coffee table which broke under him and caused Rayne to step in. "Alright, break it up before I have to break one of you." Jesse looked agitated but he stepped away from the young hunter. "Mother, we're going to leave now." Elaina said with a smile. Rayne's face darkened. "I thought you might stay a little longer."

Jesse never let up and the young hunter was unable to really fight back. Just as he saw his sister appear in the living room the boy threw a punch that he managed to grab even half distracted. He threw the hand away, throwing a punch of his own. The young hunter fell into the coffee table which splintered under the force that he fell into it with. Rayne stepped in at last and he backed away toward Iri. He wanted to demand an apology from the boy but Elaina was already talking about leaving. He understood the urgency at which she wanted to leave. Less of a chance for Rayne to learn they stole the scythe. Rayne spoke and Jesse shook his head. "No, I'm ready to go. I think if I stay I'll kill him." He said honestly. "Come on, Iri, let's go." He did not say goodbye to Rayne, simply ushered the girl out of the house. He could hear his sister and Devin behind him and he pulled out the keys to the car he had been driving. He unlocked it with a single button press and looked toward his sister. "We will talk when we reach a hotel for the day." It was of utmost importance they get as far away as quickly as possible so there was no time to talk. He got into the car and so did Iri and then they were headed off. "What was Rayne talking to you about?" He had noticed the woman speaking with her during the fight, just hadn't heard what it was about. But he had a sinking suspicion he did know. There was something he hadn't told her that he could imagine Rayne would just be ecstatic to share.

              {Didn't know if they would talk about it now or later at the hotel/airbnb}

Devin nodded, silently following Elaina, understanding her words. His opinion of Rayne and her mothering wasn’t of any importance and he thought better of giving Elaina his true opinion. It would serve no purpose. All he could do was aide her in this latest dangerous adventure and so he did. They were in and out faster than he expected and he couldn’t help but have a bad feeling about this. Perhaps it was that he was fearing for his life after seeing how quickly the rest of the vampires had been defeated. Maybe it was the extreme measures Rayne took to keep things private. Being in a house of people that could and wanted to kill you kept a person on eggshells. Even so, he kept these thoughts to himself, glad to have gotten out of the house with the scythe.

Now that it was successfully hidden in their trunk, they went inside to find a brawl. It wasn’t anything like the sparing matches downstairs, Jesse looked possessed and it made him wonder what had sparked this? Could it simple be Jesse had found a way to distract Rayne and he always looked like that in a fight? Then again, Devin did have a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach, so he reasoned with himself that it was just his nerves getting the better of him and Jesse wasn’t any different from any other time. After spotting them, Jesse had to force himself from killing the young hunter and Devin gave Elaina an inquisitive look. Did she perhaps know why her brother was hellbent on beating this kid to death? Jesse called for Iri to follow him and that got under Devins skin as well.

Taking a deep breath, he told himself it was just that house making him feel like that and it was all in his head. If that was the case or not, he was certain the truth would come out. Getting into the car, he sighed, wondering how long it would take Rayne to discover her new prize had gone missing. How far could they possibly get? As they drove he allowed the silence to linger before turning to Elaina. ”Is it just me, or was that weird? Like, why is Jesse telling my sister to follow him? I coulda done that. Maybe I’m tripping about his ‘Mark’, but the look on his face? Is it normal for hunters to want to kill each other?” Devin looked at her, knowing she didn’t have the answers but wishing she did.

Then he realized something, after mumbling about what month it was, he pulled his phone out and slapped himself on the forehead. ”I almost forgot! It’s Iri’s birthday soon!”
Dialing her number, he listened to the line ring before being sent to voicemail. Grumbling, he dialed Jesse, who answered after one ring. ”Hey, tell Iri when she wakes up to pick a place to stay in… Vegas? Yeah, Vegas is good. We’re going to Vegas.” He announced to Elaina as well as Jesse. Hanging up without saying goodbye, he smiled at Elaina.

It would take no less than two days, if not three, to get there and since they had traveled that far to get to the hunters house, then he felt going to Vegas to blow off steam would be well worth it. ”We can have loads of fun. Her birthday won’t be for a day or two after we arrive. You and I can go out somewhere fun… Maybe somewhere Jesse won’t go so I can call him while the three of us are out?” Devin wasn’t going to give up quickly on trying to tell Jesse about feeding off Elaina. It was a poor move and even if he didn’t believe in karma, he didn’t want to rake up any negative repercussions.

Just as quickly as it had taken them to arrive at Raynes, it took them that long to leave and arrive at Vegas. When they pulled up Devin couldn’t help but feel disappointed. He had thought Iri would want to stay at a fancy hotel, but they weren’t near the Strip at all. Instead they were in a residential district at a two story house. Iri got out of the car happily and went to a lockbox attached to the garage. After putting in the code, she got the key out and squealed with delight as she ran to open the door. Shortly after going in, she came back out, her face red. Mumbling something about people being in there, he shook his head and walked in.

Instantly he could hear what the issue was. A couple upstairs was going at it and passionately. Chuckling to himself, he headed up the stairs to put an end to things. Trying to be devious, he waited until he knew things had reached their peak before slamming his fist against the door three times. ”OI, KNOCK IT OFF!” But the moaning continued and he was extremely confused. Trying the door knob, it was unlocked, so he let himself in and found a gigantic tv on with porn on it. The room was empty and clean, to the naked eye, but taken aback, he looked at the tv, admiring the position displayed before blinking and looking for the remote. As he searched Devin couldn’t help but think about how he wanted to make Elaina moan like that.

Iri felt her face flush as Jesse bid her follow him, which she did silently. Why did he want her to follow him? It was curious to her that he still wanted her to ride with him. She got into the car silently, wondering what Jesse would talk to his sister about. Instead of asking, feeling a bit down in the dumps, she got into the front seat, buckled up, and looked out the window. There was next to nothing she wanted to talk about and she was looking forward to the silence and solitude that would come. They were now on the run again, a constant in her life, but she didn’t feel afraid this time. At least she knew that they would be chased by Rayne once the woman discovered the scythe had gone missing. Rayne wasn’t an idiot either, she would know exactly who was responsible for taking it.

Giving a shrug, she decided if he didn’t want to be forthcoming, she would omit the more interesting details of her conversation with Rayne. ”Nothing much. I just thought she should have ended the fight way sooner and she explained why I was wrong.” There was more to it than that, of course, but if he had wanted her to know he was engaged he would have told her. Why was that something he wanted to keep from her? The reality set in. Even completely naked, he couldn’t stand the sight of her. Not only couldn’t he stomach her, but she had built up this friendship in her mind that clearly was one sided. If he thought of her as a friend, he would have told her about the engagement. No, she was nothing more than a disgusting monster to him and she needed to remind herself of the deal they had made.

Not interested in talking further, she reclined her seat completely and rolled onto her side. After curling into a ball, silent tears fell from her eyes and soon enough she was asleep. At some point she felt a vibration on her person and a voice in the distance… Jesses voice. Her dreams swirled around until finally setting on a scene of a bed and Jesse standing nearby. She could feel her knees against her chest at first until the softness of the bed curled around her back and he was on top of her. His face moved down between her legs and just when she felt it, she bolted up, awake and blushing. Taking a moment to take in her surroundings, she panted, confused and then deeply ashamed and embarrassed.

His voice cut through her thoughts and her face reddened once more as she looked out the window. Giving a nod, she pulled out her phone, using Devins credit card to secure a house via Airbnb. Giving him the address, she told Jesse the new destination and sat there. They stayed in rooms every day and drove every night. Mostly keeping to herself, she kept busy and avoided the others by doing cross words or sudoku puzzles from little booklets. Then came the day that they arrived and she happily got out of the car and input the combination to release the key from the lockbox. Turning the key, she entered the house to a strange sound. Pausing, she blushed and turned, ran out the door, pulling it closed behind her. ”Uhm… It isn’t empty… They are… busy.” Devin moved passed her, mentioning that he had paid for this place and he would handle it.

Devin broke the silence and Elaina bit her lip at his questions. "I don't know what the thing is with him and Iri, but it's protective in nature. Jesse only behaves like that when he's in protection mode. Though I've never seen him so bad he was ready to kill someone. I wish I knew what sparked it..." She trailed off as she fell into thought. Did someone threaten Iri? That would cause her brother to loose his s**t. Because whether Devin saw it or not, Jesse liked Iri and so his feelings were magnified by the mark it seemed. Devin again broke the silence when he brought up Iri's birthday. It was soon? He picked up the phone and dialed a number. Getting no answer he dialed another and Elaina heard Jesse's voice on the other end. Devin talked about Vegas and having Iri pick a place and then he was hanging up the phone and talking to her. "I've never been to Vegas. At least not for anything that wasn't work." He mentioned them going out and she blushed as she thought about spending one on one time with him that wasn't in a car or in a house surrounded by hunters.

After a three day drive they arrived at the two story house Iri had picked out for them to stay at. Iri was the first to go in but came back outside rather quickly saying something about people being busy. What did she mean? Devin walked into the house and she followed without hesitation. Immediately upon stepping inside she understood what Iri meant. There was a couple getting busy upstairs and boy were they loud. She followed Devin up the steps and let him bang on the door. When the noise didn't stop he opened it and they both noticed the room was empty. But on the large television was porn and Elaina looked to Devin with a face that felt so red she was sure he would notice. "Remote. There has to be a remote around here." And there was, but once found there were so many buttons she didn't even know where to start. Pressing one at random music began to play from a speaker somewhere. She pressed the button again and it stopped. The next button turned the lights off and the third had a gaming console powering on. With an exasperated sigh she pressed one final button and the television shut off finally. "Finally. Let's go get your sister and Jesse." She headed back down the stairs and outside, telling the waiting pair everything was fine and explaining the situation.

When Iri answered his question Jesse sighed. "Yeah, she thinks any fight is a training opportunity. The only thing that could have ended that fight besides me was that kids death and I wasn't about to kill him over a comment. He just needed to be taught a lesson." He wondered if that was all Rayne had said but if there was more, Iri wasn't admitting to it. Instead she reclined her seat and turned her back to him, making it obvious she was done talking to him. With another sigh Jesse focused on driving until his phone rang. He answered it to hear Devin on the other end and he informed him he would tell her about the plans once she was awake. A little while later Iri shot up, as if waking from something startling. "You okay?" He asked before bringing up the phone call from Devin. "Your brother wants you to find a place for us to stay in Vegas." She did just that and gave him an address to punch into his GPS while she gave it to her brother. When they arrived Iri was the first into the house but she returned quickly, face red and mumbling something he couldn't hear. Devin and Elaina went in and when they finally returned and explained the situation he couldn't help but let out a chuckle. What were the odds that would happen? "Well, shall we go in and get settled?" He asked Iri with a smile.

Devin didn’t ask, but he was curious as to why Jesse felt protective over Iri. Didn’t he want all supers dead? Suddenly he gets a mark and that all changes? Although he was curious about what made Jesse ready to kill a fellow hunter, he didn’t bother asking. It wasn’t his place and he was just grateful to be away from that terrible place. However, when she mentioned she only had worked in Vegan, his eyes got big with excitement. While on the run, he had been through Vegas a time or two, and although Iri couldn’t participate, he had taken his time and found ways to have fun. Taking Elaina out and showing her a good time was definitely now on his to do list. ”We just gotta figure out somewhere Jesse will refuse to go and then we can all go have fun.” Sure Iri would be a third wheel, but she was good about that and kept to herself whenever he had a date. This time it would be a little different, since he wasn’t planning on just having a one night stand with Elaina, but still.

The issue with the house arose and she helped him locate the remote. However, upon finding it, the thing was a mega remote, which controlled everything and not just the T.V. Devin looked around for the speakers where the music was suddenly coming from, but it didn’t mask the moans coming from the porno. Then lights displayed and he found himself looking curiously at the screen, amazed by the position the actors suddenly found themselves in. Shaking his head, he laughed when he heard the gaming console turn on and wondered why it hadn’t come on over the T.V. Finally she found it and he let out a sigh. Looking to her, his face warmed, which was weird, but he left the room with his eyes on the floor. It was going to be hard looking at her.

While the night was still young, he wanted to start showing her a good time. ”I’ma shower and freshen up. We should get started, you should know what fun a night in Vegas can be.” Going to the basement, which was modified into a room with a pool table, he knew that would be his room. The small window was easy to block out the sun and he showered in the half shower that was in the corner of the room. After doing so, he toweled himself off and got dressed in a nice button up and clean jeans. Laundry would need to be done, so for that reason he wasn’t totally irritated Iri had chosen a house instead of a hotel. Going to a laundromat would be kind of a turn off. Really, though, a turn off would be nice. He was still feeling pent up and couldn’t believe how long it had been since he had last… Taken care of himself. Typically he would just sleep with some chick, but things were different now. It wasn’t a committed relationship, but it almost felt that way. At least he was trying to be serious with someone, right?

Putting on good smelling aftershave, he heard a knock at his door, expecting Elaina to inform him she was ready. ”Come in.” He said happily as he located a pair of socks and his shoes. To his surprise it wasn’t Elaina, but Iri. She had also showered but she was in her pajamas. ”Why aren’t you dressed?” She sat on a barstool located against one wall, this was really a man cave of a room. ”I’m not going. Anyway, I have a question.” His brow furrowed. ”You are going. You have to.” Iri shook her head. ”I’m not and I don’t. I’m staying here and cooking dinner and sleeping.” She really was ruining all of his plans. After a back and forth, he conceded to letting her stay so long as she answered his call when he was gone. ”Look, I don’t feel comfortable asking anyone else or googling it… So why would a guy want a chick to sit on his face?” A chill of disgust ran down his spine and he rounded on her. ”Where the hell did you hear that?” Iri began to mumble about a hunter and his anger went through the roof. Jesse. He wasn’t trying to be protective of Iri, he just wanted in her pants! ”Look, I’m sorry, can you just tell me?” Closing his eyes, it was painful for him to get the answer out. ”It’s just a way for.. A guy to … Perform oral.. sex.” It was so oogy having to answer her, but he stormed toward the door. ”Where are you going?”

He flung open the door and started up the stairs. ”To kill Jesse!” Iri followed after him, begging him to stop and he could hear her heart beat spike, but he wasn’t stopping. Upon reaching Jesse, he got in the guys face. ”What is your problem dude? You don’t just ask my sister to sit on your face!” Devin felt bad for Elaina, not wanting to fight and hate her brother so much, but that crossed a line and he was about to make sure Jesse wouldn’t soon cross it again.

                                          ((Hope this is okay??))

Iri gave Jesse a sheepish smile as they headed into the house after Elaina and Devin said it was okay to do so. Avoiding the room that had had .. Well, Iri found a small room across the hall that had a bathroom where she could shower. All she wanted to do was wash the smell of car off of her and get into comfortable pajamas. After her shower, she stood in the long mirror and looked over her body. What was wrong with body hair? Sure, legs were one thing, but did all women go completely bald between their legs? Looking at her breasts, she knew they were nothing to write home about, but she tried different poses to make them look bigger. Well, she knew she had a full backside, being pear shaped, she looked at the size of her hips. Giving a sigh and grabbing some clothes, she realized how stupid she was being. Her body type didn’t matter. Jesse was going to get married to a women he actually found attractive. Without looking in the mirror again, she pulled a tank top crop top type shirt on. Her stomach was exposed, but everyone there had seen her naked, what did it matter? Decided it was more comfortable to go without a bra, she remembered all the times Devin said she didn’t need one. Any time they went shopping for clothes he felt they were expensive and uanessacry for her. It wasn’t like anyone would notice anyway, right? Then she put on some white and pink striped booty shorts and headed downstairs.

The place they were renting was stocked full of food and she was excited to have a home cooked meal. It felt like years since she had last been in an actual kitchen and it was exciting. Pulling out items for a noodle dish she knew how to prepare, she preheated the oven and went to find Devin. Going down the stairs to the basement room, the main reason she had chosen that house in particular, she knocked before just walking it. Where Elaina was, she wasn’t certain, and she didn’t want to talk in on them doing anything. Even if he was only feeding from her, she hoped Devin would tell Jesse soon, because she wasn’t sure how much longer she could keep it from him. If he asked, she was certain he would know if she lied to his face and she certainly didn’t want to do that.

Devin spoke for her to come in and she sat at a bar stool, feeling awkward for what she was about to ask. Before she could, though, he gave her a look and asked why she wasn’t dressed. ”I’m not going?” Iri had zero desire to be a third wheel on his and Elaina’s date. If Jesse went, then he would keep Devin in line, but that was up to him. They went back and forth for a while before she was finally able to ask her question and he lost his mind. She chased him up the stairs, silently mouthing ‘I’m sorry’ to Jesse as Devin accused him and she just covered her face, completely humiliated and wishing to go crawl into a hole and stay there.

                                          ((Sorry!))

Jesse took a shower like everyone else when they finally got inside. It was just after he had gotten dressed that Devin stormed into his room, voice raised and accusing him of making a vile comment toward Iri. The very one he just kicked someone's a** for. "I didn't say it! That stupid hunter who I beat the s**t out of said it to her. Don't come at me all angry!" Elaina was in the room now and he looked over at her, the anger now on her. "What the hell are you wearing?" He asked her. When she mentioned going to the club he shook his head. "You're not going anywhere dressed like that." She made a comment about him not being her father and then stormed out of the room, dragging Devin with her. He turned to look at Iri with a sigh. He took in what she was wearing as he suddenly realized they were alone. They had obviously been alone together before but he felt uncomfortable now for some reason. "So we should figure out dinner, I'm starved." Anything to get his mind off of all the things they could do while alone. He went to the kitchen and noticed she had already pulled things out and the oven was preheated. "You're one step ahead of me. What are you making?"

"Jesse won't go to a club, he doesn't see the point to them. I, on the other hand, would love to go to one. A night of dancing and drinking sounds fun." Though alcohol didn't effect her like a normal human she could still get drunk if she drank enough. Once the problem with the television was fixed Devin announced he was going to take a shower and Elaina went to do the same in the master bedroom. When she was done with the shower she exited the bathroom and dug through the bag of clothes she had. She would have to go shopping at some point but for now she needed something - anything - to wear. Pulling out clothes after clothes she finally reached a black dress that she had packed in case she needed to seduce marks. It was revealing but it was all she had. Putting the dress on she stopped to look in the full length mirror on the back of the door before she heard raised voices coming from one of the other bedrooms. Elaina went to see what the commotion was about and found a pissed off Devin. Jesse defended himself before looking to her and commenting on her clothes. "You aren't my father. You don't get to choose what I wear." With a huff she grabbed Devin's hand and pulled him out of the room, ready to leave. Iri clearly wasn't coming as she was dressed in what looked like pajamas. She dragged Devin all the way to the garage where she released his hand. "Take the keys. You're in charge of getting up places tonight. You obviously know Vegas better than me." She got into the car and waited for him to do the same. They drove to the club which wasn't terribly far from the house and went inside, Elaina headed for the bar. She ordered three shots of tequila, just to start off. They each came with a slice of lime and she downed the first shot, taking a bite out of the lime before going to the second and third and doing the exact same thing. She ordered three more and took a seat at the bar, motioning to the stool next to her. "I'm just going to finish these shots and then we can go dance!" She yelled over the music. She downed the three shots with ease and felt the buzz coming on. It wasn't strong but it was something.

                {Hope I gave enough for you to work with}
