-Updated the discography, biography, the FAQ, and just generally gave the thread some love and care. heart Updated the official links in different places. I'm kind of too tired/lazy right now to vet all of the fansites to check to see if they're still alive, so they're just as they are. If they work, there's some good stuff there.

Live Info
To be updated soon. Trying to research the ticketing info for the Tokyo Re-debut.
Who is he?
He is the former guitarist from Due le Quartz known then as Miyabi. He was in the band from June 1999 to September 2002 when the band eventually broke up. Shortly after that, he announced that he was going solo and changed his name to Miyavi. His first release was his album "Gagaku" and then two singles "POP IS DEAD" and "Shindemo Boogie-Woogie" which followed shortly after with PS Company serving as both his manager and label. In October of 2004, he made his major debut on the UNIVERSAL Music (of Japan) label with PS Company remaining his management. In January 2009, he graduated from PS Company and became independently managed under his own company, J-glam, Inc. At the start of 2010, he came into the New Year under a new recording label and was with EMI Music Japan, but returned to Universal as a part of Universal Music's buyout of EMI in 2012. He know releases through Virgin Records through the Universal Music Group. He's made a great amount of improvement in his music and singing since he embarked on his solo career, and he'll only get stronger as he continues on as a major artist. In 2014 he embarks on his first serious acting role with the part of Mutsuhiro Watanabe in Angelina Jolie's film UNBROKEN.
About the Thread
A new thread was in order to give the fans on Gaia the best resource possible. I hope you enjoy it, but first a few notes.
This thread is a place for discussion about Miyavi and not just a fan thread. Given that, both positive and negative opinions of Miyavi *ARE* allowed and encouraged. However, trolling in the thread is discouraged and a reportable offense.
Example of good negative discussion: "I don't like Miyavi because his voice is offputting"
Trolling and warnable: "Miyavi fans are gay"
If someone is trolling the thread, please ignore them and report them. Refrain from flaming them as flaming will get you warned as well.
Also, as we want to avoid the above situation, if you are going to post negative comments about Miyavi, it is suggested that you reasonably explain your opinion such as in the above example, but also be aware that the fans within the thread are also free to give a rebuttal your response as that is also part of discussion.
Please also note that elongated discussion and large paragraphs are *not* flaming. Not everyone in the thread will agree with you and some people will take the time to carefully write out why they disagree. It is merely part of a discussion, so don't fear it. That and a little bit of netiquette FYI, when someone writes with some words written like *THIS* it means they're trying to imitate tone of voice online and put emphasis on that particular word. 3nodding
Debate discussion examples:
"Actually, I think it's more that...."
"I don't particularly care for Miyavi because..."
"Actually Miyavi is *STILL* considered visual kei because..."
Trolling/flaming/things that will likely get you a talking to by a mod examples:
"Miyavi sucks and you're all retarded for liking him."
"I hope Miyavi dies in a plane crash."
The last couple of examples clearly are trying to rile people up and are not merely expressing an opinion on the artist, but are rather mean spirited comments or wishes. Don't do it.
This all might sound intimidating, but we don't bite and many of us are friendly and rather accepting of other people's opinions. We only ask that you're reasonable. heart 3nodding
Further, AVOID SPAMMING THE THREAD. Post *something* related to Miyavi. A sentence. A one word post does not a sentence make let alone a discussion. At least one sentence can promote something that maybe someone can respond to.
Rampant picture spamming is also discouraged. While the posting of pictures I'm okay with in general, what I mean by spamming is putting like 10-20 in one post. For the love of God, some people in the world still run on dial-up. I'm not one of them, but I know some people out there aren't fortunate enough to have high speed internet. They get by with whatever they can get, so I'd rather let them be welcome in here to discuss as well instead of shunning them away with a huge barrage of pictures.
Lastly, DO NOT EVER bump this thread. There is NO BUMPING whatsoever in this entire forum.

By contact a moderator, that answer means that what you're doing is spamming the forum and SPAMMING MY THREAD. If you insist on bringing the thread up from page three or something, just write SOMETHING or ANYTHING about Miyavi in your post instead. At least that has a chance at starting a discussion and is relevant to the topic.
