Summing up the back-story, Don Kuro's mother fell in love with a vampire while married, and when they were caught he was sent to execution. His mother saved her lover at the last minute, and the Kuro Clan was exiled and cursed. She left to go speak to the elves, hoping that they would lift the curse from her children, but never returned and the curse remained. Don Kuro now vows revenge against all vampires.

Main Event

⇒There are two factions. Vampires, and Dark Elves, chosen via private message.
Leading the Vampire faction is the Von Helson Family. The most notable vampire on Gaia is Louie Von Helson.
Leading the Dark Elf faction is the Kuro Gang. The most notable dark elf on Gaia is Don Kuro.

⇒ Energy

In order to attack or heal others, you'll need to keep your energy up.
To gain energy, you need to stay active by posting in threads or creating your own in the MAIN EVENT FORUM (The Don).
To attack, you'll need to stay active in the main battleground forum (Halloween 2k12: The Don).
To heal, you'll need to stay active in your team's specific home forum (House of Von Helson or Kuro Gang).
You'll have 10 minutes of time to attack/heal after your most recent event post. During this time you can attack/heal as many people as you want.

⇒ Attacking

Slash your way through waves of enemies to score as many points as possible.
As a member of the Kuro Gang, you need to slash the bats but avoid the owls at all costs!
As a member of the Von Helson house, you need to slash the owls but dodge around the bats!
Each correct slash gives you 1 point but don't get too crazy. Each wrong slash will deduct 5 points from your score.
Be sure to slash all the enemies; if you let any of them fall below the window, you'll lose a point.
Score as many points as possible (20 max) before time runs out.

⇒ Healing

Act quickly to patch the wounds of your friends and allies.
You'll need to keep your wits about you and make sure your memory is working well.
You'll need to find each side of six different items.
You can only see the contents of two drawers at the same time so be sure to make the right pick.
The first 4 matches will get you 3 points each while the 5th and 6th matches will give you 4 points.
Score as many points as possible (20 max) before time runs out.

⇒ Auto Action

This action allows you to bypass the posting time limit and energy restrictions on attacking/healing.

Timeout: 1 minute wait between auto actions on a specific user

Cost: 2 GCash

Damage: Random amount between 10 and 20


Trick or Treating

⇒ Every year there is "Trick or Treating" in the shops. You collect pieces of candy, and a certain amount can be traded for a prize, (22, with a 30 second wait between collecting). There are 8 collectable halloween items. In the past, candy could be collected in Towns as well, but developers have already stated that Towns will not be incorporated in this years Halloween event.

How to obtain: Choose a side by clicking the link in one of the PMs from [NPC] Countess Ambrosia or [NPC] Franco 'The Fish'. Note that you can only choose one side, and this cannot be undone or re-done. The badges are currently soulbound but will be unbounded after the event.

I can't wait for the event to start! My favorite Halloween even of all time was the 2007 Vampire event and I have a suspicion that this event will rival it emotion_dowant

⇒ What was your favorite Halloween event?
The Overseer vs Sentinel event. Some old friends were still on gaia and we competed with eachother. It was quite a lot of fun. I've been here longer than that, but I can't really remember the other events. I was busy with school and band.

⇒ Which faction did you choose and why?
On my main I'm with the Kuro's, because in most cases I prefer elves over vampires. Gaia has been following trends for a while now and the two species seem to be the victims of that as well... But in general I think I'm more so siding with the vampires. I like the pent-up rage and rebellion against the Kuro's Don who used the vampire "people" like disposable tissues in his mysterious pursuit of a small, hairy teenager..

⇒ What are your plans for Halloween this year?
I'm going to celebrate it like an adult this year, unfortunately. Some candy, grown-up treats and lots of horror movies. I don't really want to make a party out of it because my funds are kind of low this year, but meh. We'll see.

Those contests look quite fun! <3 I'm looking forward to this event even more now.
