Welcome to Gaia! ::

Hello everyone. I am trying to lose weight and I have hit a plateau. I exercise 3 times a week and eat mostly heathly, splurging every once in a
while. I don't understand what I am doing to cause this plateau. I was wondering if I should start doing some sit-ups and maybe drinking more water. Need some suggestions. HELP PLEASE!!!!

Try not to drink soda or eat anything with a lot of salt, that's really helped me
Thanks. I stopped drinking soda almost a yr ago. Not much of a salt person so I don't have to worry about that. Although I had salt on popcorn last night and it was way too much for my liking.

try avoiding foods with a high sodium content and starchy foods like potatoes and bread, and if you like meat try eating more chicken and fish, that's helped me lose about 20 pounds in 2 months
i do not like you

My liver specialist put me on strict diet of no carbs. No rice, potatoes, bread, anything with cornstarch. I can eat all the meat, fish, veggies and fruits that I want. To be honest I feel deprived. I miss pasta, chips, soda. But now when I eat and drink that stuff I feel guilty and soda just makes me jittery now. O.O
If you keep eating healthy, and do your exercises properly there is no way why you wouldn't lose weight.
Initially you will lose a lot of weight untill your body finds a new balance, after which it will become harder to lose weight.
Also depending on what you do, you might be building some muscle aswell, making it appear as if you're not losing weight.
here are some tipps every day, eating and so on too:

generell: less sugar, less carbonhydrates in the evening, more protein, fat about 0,5g/kg bodyweight.

i worked with a lot of athletes in germany and austria.

That is my problem. I have lost about 37 pounds and for some reason no matter what I do I can't lose anymore. I been doing the same thing for a few months now, I figured a switch will work hopefully

It depends on how much you really weigh, do you still need to lose more weight?
Probably going to have to push yourself harder.
If you start out exercising at first, it's really hard for you, but the more you do the easier it gets, the workout that was heavy for you at first is easy enough for you now, so you obviously have to increase the intensity of your exercises over time.
what exactly are you doing for your workouts?
and 3x a week isn't preferable for weight loss, if at all possible for your schedule you should try to increase that
if you need help changing your program i'd love to help, i'm an exercise science major so it's pretty much all i do :3

Try to eat cleaner will definitely help (foods with 10 ingredients or less, and less pre-packaged foods). and more water will definitely hep.
Also, change up your exercise routine. Cardio all the time won't do as much good as alternating with weight lifting exercises/stretching/balance ball/whatever else.
Hope this helps! Feel free to message me if you need more help, I've lost over 60 pounds and have helped others lose, too!
