Welcome to Gaia! ::

I recently started playing a lot more RPG and JRPGs.... and well I love getting invested in the stories, putting hours of gameplay into them...I'm not exactly good at them. As I usually have to play on easy mode, and sometimes use a guide, sweatdrop

So, what would I need to do to get better at such a game? what are some tips smile
Well I'm not really sure what kind of other RPGs you're playing, they can all be a bit different so I'll just go with my general rule of thumb.

Specialise your character. When creating your character, decide what kind of character they're going to be. What kind of weapons they'll use, will they be stealthy or straight up combat type. Will they be good with talking to people and trade or are they going to be a full combat character. Are they going to be good and helpful or are they going to be a bad guy?

When you have that decided, stick to that role. Put your stats into filling that role. Stick with the weapon/magic your stats are built towards. It's better to be really good at one or two things than being ok at everything.

Thank you for replying and the info 3nodding

If you want I can list the RPG/JRPGs I'm currently playing if it would help?... xp

Dedicated Loiterer

Figure out enemy weaknesses, as soon as you do games get way easier.
Posting your current playing list, or some titles you really enjoy would definitely help.

But yeah, definitely figure out enemy weaknesses, and also grind your way through battles to strengthen your character(s).

In Persona, for example, I usually grind heavy on the first day it's time to save someone, and save them, then use the other time to max out S Links.

Indulgent Demigod

Pretty much just what everyone has already said. Grinding, weakness exploiting, proper team composition, and you're all set. It's sort of something you either learn right off the bat or over time.
