Japanese TV (some stuff I'm curious about)

What is Japanese TV like? How long are the commercial breaks? Do you have network promos and yearly lineup promos like Australian or American TV?

Also, contrary to popular belief, very few western shows get broadcast on Japanese TV

There are lots of talk shows and variety shows, also a lot of semi educations programs which are quite interesting

Commercial?
Depend on the show, if it is a popular show then the comercial following it will be long. It is like in other countries I think.

It is totally deferent than your american tv channel that mostly shows sexuality stuff and news of lies like how the american media fulls of news showing how bad Korean, Iraqi, Afghanistan, Iran or other countries or news that become the enemy of america. Or how american media almost never show the countless crimes american did in Japan and mostly saying how Japanese love american, look over american and many other lies and kiddy stuff like that.

To get a better idea of a country, it is best to watch that country local tv channel, the problem is the language.

Sexuality? Aha. Only if you're into it. Most channels, especially for kids are not like that. I'm sure that both are in some ways, quite similar. Of course, the shows are different and most of them are not Caucasian. Though there are a mix of people in American TV.

I don't know what American TV you're watching confused
1. The only negative media towards Korea I've ever seen was towards Kim Jung Il, and that was in a history class when we were learning about the Korean war and propaganda.
2. Popular media is very sympathetic towards the middle east. It is actually very much against the current administration and the war over there.
3. Um... common media doesn't even mention Japan except when talking about technology, sorry to say. I'd say the 'Japanese love american' thing is more stereotype than television. You can go blame anime for that, which, by the way, is not broadcast commonly on our television. Cartoon network shows crap like Naruto and Inuyasha, but anything else really you have to purchase special channels and not many people do that.

I just know that Japanese tv makes me miss American tv. They have channels, but nothing dedicated to kids or cartoons. Everything is just mixed up in my opinion. I feel like the timing for shows are really random.. except for the kid shows that start at 3-5 or so and also the new programs during the morning afternoon and night.

Also the comedy gets boring after a while. Everyone just has ONE gimmick, so it gets really boring after a year... I just want Yoshio Kojima to die already. gonk

Also majority of the shows revovle around these comedians, at least the evening shows, the rest of the day they show boring dramas, which all end up being the same.

Also the movies they show on Sunday nights suck. gonk

Not really... You can't help but learn who these people are because they are on tv every freakin day/ every other hour. gonk
